There has been. Have seen it years ago. There are also those hilarious obstacle course game. They are into funny games. I believe there WAS a US show that was inspired by this hilarious games.
it is called Masquarade. People or group of people doing acts with a theme, using various props and even coreography.

This type of gag was pretty common on japanese TV in the 80-90's. This kind of pommel horse act existed then too.

What makes me laugh are not just the act..but the comments section too, it makes me happy knowing everyone likes it..because most of asian knows this act exists many years ago, i watched this act almost 20 years ago (similar act)..
Oh i miss that Japanese program in 90s. I don’t remember the title but it was just full of these show talents. Then the judges gave them points and we could see it by the giant bar beside them. They had to pass certain score to pass.

It's so much cooler with the black lights. I really enjoy when they change up the angles, but it looks better when you don't see the black in the transition.
The Japanese humor is funny in its own way. We just spend a few weeks in Japan and it's almost childlike humor. Funny but different!
Japanese shows with this stuff used to be played on tv while I was growing up, had so much fun watching them 😂

I remember at least 20 years ago, they would broadcast this show on some random public channel that only shows Asian show on certain nights here in LA. Surprisingly some fellow Americans also watched this show. They would fly to Japan and compete in that show. Seems that they’ve finally made it to US mainstream.
