Joan Hackett....Only saw her in Bonanza "Woman of Fire". And. Movie "Support Your Local Sheriff" She had that certain "Something" that I cannot forget, Her voice, feel for comedy, That sticks in my memory. What a talent💗
Joan was a class act..her film, TV and stage work were always impressive..how humbling to see a dying woman accept her award so modestly ..My all time fave performance was as Lee in 'THE LAST OF SHEILA'... I wont spoil it for those who havn't seen the film, lets just say the character has 'issues' lol....miss you Joan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Darren Curtis-Small "The Last of Sheila" was my fav. Joan Hackett film as well. I wish utube had more of her work. She was a mesmerizing presence in everything she did. I believe she was on a big comeback after her Golden Globe win, & Oscar nominated performance in "Only When I Laugh." Unfortunately Fate saw it differently & the comeback never came. Her next script would have a very bittersweet ending. There are no words, or logic, or reason to witness the death, (at only 49 ) of such a timelessly talented & beautiful Actress. She really did deserve more. Now, thru all of her brilliant performances, we can watch, remember, & always cherish what she left behind for everyone to enjoy.

She always had a very special way of adding such class, beauty, humour & a touch of sadness to her aura. "Now there's someone with a Special, indefinable magic" "...perfect words for joan.....i,m ashamed to admit it was only 3 weeks ago i discovered joan by accident on t.v and i thought there was just something about her that stayed in my mind thus now 3 weeks later i,m looking up everything about her....there,s something about those dark , sad, innocent eyes and her personality that draws you in and touches you....but like you said and better than me....joan had indefinable magic .
Heart-breaking in so many ways - that she dies far too soon and that there's no 'stars' of her calibre or class any more !. Joan Hackett was just so impossibly beautiful - just stunning !
The year after, in 1983, we saw him as Father Ralph. Jesus what a waste of joy. We teenage girls were all in love with him. We all claimed him for ourselves. It would have broken our hearts had we known that he didn't fancy women. He was such a piece of chocolate. We 14 years old sat glued to the TV and the repeat button on the video recorder was worn out from us hitting it for hours to see Ralph loving Meggie, and we all wanted to be Meggie - just without her heartbreak.
Londinium Cross omg I’ve loved him since he played Dr Kildare and I was then approx 7 years old. Had his book annuals at Christmas. Adored the beloved Thorn Birds and totally adored him all my life. Gosh he was such a sexy man but I then found out he wasn’t into women. I was devastated.😭😭😭😭😭😭

Swoozie Kurtz was with Tony Randall and she looked like she was bored as hell. This was really worth seeing just for Joan Hackett...what a sweet woman and missed dearly.
