Lure Fishing - Searching For Perch (Video 257)

- You join myself and Jared as we head out for an impromptu, late afternoon fishing trip on the lures hoping to find a few perch willing to feed and perhaps maybe a larger specimen or two! This has been filmed mainly with a head cam, so it is a little bit of a rough and ready film with no intro just straight into the fishing.
Can I say that am by no means a regular lure angler but I am doing more lure fishing of late and enjoying it as it fits in with my other styles of fishing and being able to grab the gear and go.
Jared has his own channel( link below) which is mainly lure fishing based, you may like to check it out and perhaps give it a follow, many thanks!

Cheers David!
Hi Mark I am a new subscriber. I have been barbel fishing for quite a few years now after 15 years of pike fishing which I packed in after catching a 7lb barbel which gave me the best fight I’ve ever had. Anyway my local river Aire is brill and has plenty of barbel in it but spent years on the Trent with the fashionable craze of tripod with two rods facing the sky. I have grown tired of this mechanical fishing so I’ve changed to your way of thinking but not entirely as I just fish one swim. I bought a Korum 10 foot opportunist rod and fished just one rod on my local medium sized river only session so far (17 th) and had the best session I’ve ever had catching so many barbel and bream that I didn’t have time to drink my coffee. Biggest was 10lb 12 oz. This is proper fishing like you have said. Enjoy your vids. The fishing guru I know who fishes like you who currently has our river record caught carp at 56 lb ( an escapee) mentions you all the time as being the best angler he’s seen and he’s sixty odd. Keep up the good work
Many thanks Stephen and to be fair ditching too much gear is probably the best way to get the most out of a lot of our small and medium rivers as you feel less tethered down too. that is a fine result too!.Give my regards to your fishing guru friend too.
What a fish. Thanks for the new video
Very welcome Mark!
Awesome
Just reminded me why I don't go perch fishing anymore.
That last 30 minute window was so often the best time for the bigger ones.
This made me think the rest of the time I was wasting time.
True Robert but then most species have their windows of feeding, but must agree with you that with perch sometimes it can be an hour maximum of key time or even less lol. But personally no time bank side is ever a waste.
@@francolinobasco wasting time in a sense of I could be chasing other fish.
Right now I'm struggling to figure out a new tench venue.
My go to methods aren't doing very well.
@@robertdenman153 No I totally understand you mate, some of the windows with them can be incredibly small i remember one winters day where i had 45 minutes action and then nothing, I lost both fish and they were good ones too :( lol.
@@robertdenman153 I do have a couple of tench videos as my next uploads as it happens!
Excellent result Mark best way to end the day!

Hi Mark. I've just been reading about you becoming ill with E. coli after fishing on the Blackwater. I do hope you are feeling better mate. What are our rivers becoming........It's so sad.
Cheers mate I am feeling good, the actual incident happened in February but the local news wanted to cover it for the new fishing season and to highlight poor water quality issues.
Fantastic perch Mark. Persistence paid off!

Cheers mate. Maybe there is something in that saying "save the best until last" 😂. I don't know but what I do know is I felt very lucky that she hit the lure.
