In this clip, Baron Davis reflects on growing up in South Central Los Angeles, where he was fortunate enough not to have to pick a side between the Bloods and Crips. As he looks back on that experience, he recalls trying to encourage his friends involved in gangs to get preoccupied with sports, hoping to keep them entertained with basketball and football. He then speaks on producing the 2008 documentary "Crips and Bloods: Made in America," that went on to be nominated for an Emmy. From there, he also expresses how thankful he is for his grandmother, who helped raise Davis and his sister when they were young children.

Its very true what he's talkin about....kids need stability and structure. My father was a hustler/business owner murdered in the crenshaw district of South La in 84', my mother was in and out of jail at the time, very young, and nearly gave birth to me there. I found stability with my aunt in compton and my grdma in long beach. People dont realize the challenges black youth go through just to get to school in violent areas, even in todays' "calm" enviroment it could be a death walk.

Did you not watch the clip before you typed this? Baron Davis produced a documentary on Bloods and Crips, and he grew up in South Central. Why wouldn't they talk about that? Vlad is also from Cali, so he's going to have an interest in Cali street culture.
