Love you both❤ When my youngest daughter was 4, she was polite in front of me for the only time I can remember. She's 37 now, an EMT and a highly trained crisis counselor. She works on the streets in Eugene, Oregon working with and for the unhomed members of the community. She goes to people's houses, if a mentally ill person is becoming violent or suicidal. She picks up junkies and alcoholics covered with piss and slime, literally blacked out in the gutter and makes sure they get a shower, clean dry clothes, sleeping bags and tents before dropping them at a free meal or a shelter that will get them off the street and occasionally at Buckley house where you have the opportunity to get clean, transfer to inhab and then to a halfway house-all without cost. She's extremely good at her job, bilingual, incredibly patient but hasn't spoken to me in years. I love less than an hour away. Soo, some friends and I were playing music and talking about musicians we liked and someone mentioned Neal Young. She was in the next room working on a project and she came into the living room, waited until no one was talking and went up to my friend who had mentioned Neal. She said "Excuse me- excuse me please, but in my family, that's Neal baby." and then left the room. I love Neal, my family respects him even if it's not their favorite music. My children and my grandchildren have seen Neal many times. We went to The Bridge School benefit for years. My only grandchild, though there's another on the way, has seen Neil twice- her favorite song is Harvest Moon which makes me cry just thinking about that song My forever partner passed 10+ years ago and that was his favorite song. My granddaughter sings it all the time- especially when we're baking together. Neals music has brought my family together, taught them morals, ethics and inspired them to be using writers and musicians. I've seen Neil 100's of time- in 3 different countries and I feel blessed. The amount of money he has raised at Farm Aid and other benefits has helped so many communities and people. Thank you Neal baby for being you. I truly pray that you know that you are loved and appreciated. I don't consider myself a fan- we're part of the same community, part of the same family ❤🎼🎯🎹 🎸🏴☠️®️
You are in a small circle of people who don't like Neil Young. He's somewhat of a Renaissance Man. Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, Crazy Horse & solo work has stood the test of time. He's addressed a wide range of topics...drug abuse, suicide, Southern Men, love, rock, politics, etc. He's his own man, not afraid to say/sing what he feels. I love Neil Young.
The Beatles are joyous. The Blues is heartfelt sadness. Neil young????? Never understood why he is so revered. He could turn a sunshine day into clouds of doom. There ain't no sunshine in Neil young. Hopefully he will simply fade away.
