My favorite part of working at a movie theater is getting paid to hear this repeatedly all day.
Sane
Yeah, me too. I always look forward to cleaning Halloween Kills.
same here
Its so weird that I was going to comment this myself.
yep same here
Not to have this version on spotify is a crime.
its really fing bad
So many ghost songs not on spotify ;(
@@bestrussianjaxfromrussia181 Like what ? The only other song that I know about is « Zenith » but please tell me if I’m missing out on other songs
I know
Like they could of added the other three covers as they've got multiple covers on there at the moment
this version of hunters moon itches my soul perfectly
We all can agree that Tobias forge Is tallented af
Dude knows how to write a catchy tune doesn't he.
Definitely
Yes. But he also has a strong talented team behind him.. Talented musicians
Writer Composer and Singer he has a natural talent and a perfect voice
he was better with the original band IMO
Lore theory: Copia isn’t singing this, Nihil is. It’s from the 80’s
It's not Copia, it's now Pope-ia
Tobias has said that he just flat out doesn't like this version and felt he could do better. I don't think lore factors into it.
Papa IV is in the music video so theory doesn't really work.
Nihil is 60's
@@pinkthunder138 I think Tobias is wrong. Single version is much, much thinner and weaker
This version sounds closer to the first two albums, as where the single sounds more like Prequelle. Dude is talented as fuck.
@Astrotrain52 Chill, it was just one album. Every album has had a distinct sound and Tobias has claimed multiple times the next one will be heavier, more riff oriented and have less-, or no ballads. Also Prequelle had Rats and Faith on it, both heavier than any song from Infestissumam.
@Astrotrain52 Infest wasnt heavy though, it just has dirty production.
@Astrotrain52 Well you definately need to chill. I wasn't trying to change your opinion, I wasn't even discussing your opinion, I was telling you how it is and why you were wrong. It's clear you rather have a ranty monologue so no matter what I write here you will come crying without reading any of it, but I repeat. Every album has had a distinct sound, first two albums being more occult lenient, Meliora being more like standard heavy metal with the occult still being there. Tobias thought he didn't want to make the same stuff for the 4th time, so he brought his other influences from the pop world to Prequelle. 7 inches of satanic panic was a single relating to the lore of the band, and this newest song was made for a film soundtrack. None of them are going to influence the next album. What I said we know about the next album is words directly from Tobias's mouth, so they weigh far heavier than some crybaby on the internet making his own conclusions without knowing enough about the band.
Only after this song came out I sat and watched the classical Halloween triology. It's nice to associate this franchise with Ghost now.
I can now associate Michael Myers with Ghost the same way I associate Jason Voorhees with Alice Cooper
The fact that this song was meant for the movie and not some random song makes this even better. Listening to the lyrics tou kinda know from it is
@hyoko no lol the producer came to Tobias about a song for the new movie
Although I prefer the single, this is also great.
Actually, this sounds more like the pre-Copia Ghost.
I love to imagine this was a radio hit from Papa Nihil in the late 70’s
@@BrandonKBills it sure sounds like it, psychodelic and sinister
I like this version better than the single version, tbh. It sounds so much darker, outright sinister. I just love how he almost growls out the "....moon"....
that "...mooooooon" growl lifts the song a whole level!!!
I actually this better than the single, as well ... very subtle, and yes, this is creepier ☠️🎃
As some may have already stated -- this film version of "Hunter's Moon" sounds more atmospheric, has an eeriely sinister feel to it that's akin to John Carpenter's score, and a stronger chorus. I like this more than the official release, IMHO.
Absolutely in love with both versions! Ghost never disappoints
100% agree. Kind of reminds me of NIN doing several versions of the same song. There is room to love them all.
This version has a stronger chorus and bridge in my opinion. Love it!!
Until the vinyl release, someone will rip it
I watched Halloween Kills 3 days ago and I was so pleasantly surprised when Hunter's Moon started playing! I would've stayed in the room if my mother and I weren't leaving already, but I gushed to her how cool that was lol this movie was great fun and I'm happy Ghost got to have their music feature in it!
Happened to me too but with dad
HalloweeN (1978)

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)
"And Fools Shine On" by Brother Cane
@@TheMovieDoctorful
Nah. Creed in H2O sounded much better. 😝
God, the way the guitar warps on the chorus really just hits different. I'm starting to prefer this version a lot more.
0:52 THAT BASS!! I LOVE IT
Can’t get any better
The studio version is better
We are talking about Tobias Forge, you shall never say this
Nope this one is better
This is from halloween kills my fav movie
My parents and I stayed long enough during the closing credits of the movie to hear the beginning of this and I was like, "Hey wait, this version's different...." Glad you posted it cause I REALLY like this version!
Same here bro!
@@patrickmatheny1290 Went and saw this for a second time in the theater by myself and stayed all the way through the credits for the second time!
Definitely prefer this version, it reminds me of the 80s and 80s style horror film cheese metal from movies like Friday the13th (ALL OF THEM Especially VI), Halloween 4, A Nightmare On Elm Street(MOST OF THEM) and probably like one of the Chucky films. Yeah, to me this is exactly what I wanted but didn’t know I wanted from Halloween Kills’ end credits… Also I might be wrong on Halloween 4 (but I do remember something from either that or 5).
It reminds me of Dokken from NOES the dream warriors. I definitely got 80’s horror movie vibes from this version
@@BoogSReviews Oh, definitely, yes.
It reminds me of rats by b.c.
ghost b.c.*
Hard to tell which version I like more. I think I like the instruments in the film version more, but the Impera version's vocals are much cleaner
I went to go see Halloween Kills by myself in an almost empty movie theatre a few days before Halloween. I sat in the back and as the credits rolled, I got to enjoy hearing this song with some LOUD ass speakers!
I love both versions!! this one is amazing and so is the one from the album!!
This version better be on the new album.
this version fits Halloween kills and Michael Myers perfectly
Very good Halloween Music for the kiddies. Muuuuahhhahaaa.. 😎
coming back here because i love this song a lot, and also; Ghost did a cover of "Stay" featuring Patrick wilson, for the new Insidious film
I don’t know why, but at 1:33 is when I just got extremely happy. Maybe knowing I’m going to see them live but that part is amazing
Love that they work with Andy Wallace again as mix engineer. Andys mix of Dance Macabre is one of the best mixes i have heard in a long time
Just as good as the single, which sounds more polished but less ominous. I love how 70s the chorus guitar sounds.
Dang it! This NEEDS to be on Spotify 🤘🔥🎃
I almost like this version better. I wonder why they changed the mix for the single version? Still love the song in both versions though.
We had a basic course in cinema audio for a few months at my filmschool so don't quote me on this but I make this guess:
As far as I can tell, bands (almost always) make two versions when they get hired to make a movie soundtrack: one specifically for the movie and one for their album/single. They might make a different version of the song for their album to more fit their style more.
Movies always have a very specific feel/identity. Some existing songs you can use yeah, a lot of pop-music can easily be used for soundtracks.
This film version is exactly what I would expect to hear in cinema (especially in a Dolby Atmos/surround sound movie theater).
The instruments are more in the forefront and it's more focused on the entire feeling of the song rather than what the lyrics are about.
There are parts in this version where suddenly everything (or almost) falls silent (for example when Tobias sings 'Tonight', the only thing you hear faintly is the bell in the back)
Also I read somewhere in the comments that this is a rip from a stream. The hollow sound of this track could be because the stream was recorded within a cinema? I'm not sure. But I do know that this would sound wicked in a room with surround sound. :) I hope this helps
@@Macalicious oh okay that makes sense. And It does still sound like this in the movie version with that hollow sound. I saw it last night.
@@TECfan1 ah I see, thanks for letting me know! Was the movie good? 😃
@@Macalicious If you're a big fan of the Halloween series and slashers I would say so.
@@Macalicious It was very bloody and violent but Halloween Ends needs to be released next October to truly finish it
Interesting that it’s different from the single version. Still a banger regardless 🤘
I honestly love both versions so much, they both have great things to them and are just so pleasing to the ear. I love this band so damn much, I love Tobias so much
I started the movie on Peacock then immediately fast forwarded all the way to the credits just to hear the song. My guess is that they needed an edited version to fit the time remaining after the Halloween Theme.
Wat?
This really sounds like a Subvision tune on steroids. Love it
Amen, would love more Subvision sounding stuff from Ghost
This was better than the ending of the movie
Slasher-Movies and Metal , i love it!!
right after watching halloween kills plays this song!!
i came here to replay it a 100 more! times aweosme song!!
Way cooler than the other one
Agreed... the other one disappointed me... this one is much better.
Please- for the love of cake- RELEASE this version of the song!
@Riley Borntreger I thought it was gonna be added on the Halloween Kills soundtrack especially with the download from iTunes, unless it’s gonna be an entirely different album
There is a version on UA-cam.
Next album........
both are fantastic!
I love this! Thanks for uploading it 🎃
The solo of the other version is better, but this versión it's so nice.
Flat out love this version. Single version is great, but this one is more bass-heavy, the synths instead of the guitars in the chorus work for me, and that bridge with the choir is my favorite part. Spectacular.
I've never seen a single film of the Halloween franchise, and I despise horror/slasher flicks but I saw this on opening night with the roommate just to hear this song on a theater sound system
Halloween kills was awesome an I love this song 🎃👻
Sounds like a less mixed version of the song, reminds me of When Darkness Falls by Killswitch Engage from Freddy v Jason due to that difference between that and the studio version
Both versions are good. I feel like this one is better by just a little.
my god. This is the best version of Hunter´s moon
Best version
Such a better version; darker with a better mix overall.
The whole movie was fantastic, but it was extra nice to hear this song during the credits.
Sounds a bit more like Nihil's style than Copia's, which is cool and all but gah I need more Copia
And it really speaks to Forge's talent that even though he's always the one singing his characters are so distinct from each other that you can tell them apart quite easily.
This version is awesome. This version is mystical, it will stick perfectly to a revival of ghost why for a new album !!!
When you thought it couldn't get better. Wow
Superior version through and through after every listen
IF this had the single version's drums, I would much prefer this version.
reminds me of goosebumps
Anything related to or having to do with Tobias is amazing in my opinion! Thanks for posting.
Pleasantly surprised to hear this version during credits.
This is the version for the credits of Halloween Kills ? And not the other version ?
Interesting. Both versions have their points. This one is more Gothic. The other has the faster part and heavier guitars
I've had this song on repeat the last couple days after watching Halloween Kills.
Best
Beautiful
I think this version gives more 70s vibe than the single one, I mean I loved the 1st version, but this one fits ghost better.
Right up there with Square Hammer for me. It also helps that it's from my favorite movie franchise!
Holy shit I love this version, too! It's spookier, more atmospheric and more epic, if that's at all possible. TF's ability to arrange/re-arrange his own music is goddamn near unmatched 🤘🤘
Both versions are excellent ❤️
Was so cool hearing this In the theater after seeing Halloween kills, very unexpected, I stayed and jammed out til the end
From 3:32 - 3:48 I have no idea what they said but I just gone make up a lyric for it so here it is. Lyrics - burning is my singing Burning is my glory here is where I workshop burning is glory
Unholy shite I love this version.
this beauty was released right on my birthday, i was grateful, thanks for the gift lol
I wish someone would do a mix of this version with the vocals from the single release 🔥
Saw the movie tonight and got excited to here this song at the end!!:)
I kinda prefer this over the studio version. Sounds way more haunting.
EDIT: Also at 1:33 you can hear the Halloween theme (or at least smth that sounds eerily similar) faintly playing in the background. Just noticed it now and omfg I love that little detail.
Still gives me chills....
I love both. I believe I like the first version better, but think the transition from the guitar solo back to the chorus is smoother in the film version. Both rock.
Sounds like a live version of the song
We can all agree Tobias makes banger songs 🧍♂️
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH MORREEEEEEE
Watched it the other day to show rents this song. They left before the Halloween theme was over LMAO. Still enjoyed the film, this song fits so nicely.
I absolutely love this version.
I absoulutey love this omg can’t wait to watch the film
better 80's style mix, much better, Dream theater-ish production than the original.
Tobias seems better live, lacking the operatic tone in a studio setting. Be well, be REAL.
This sounds greater!
I just watched Halloween Kills song fits Michael Myers!
Omg. I love this even more than the other version. And it reminds me of one of my absolute favorite bands - the birthday massacre. Also it's a bit elvenking-ish
That would be a cool collaboration. I love how The Birthday Massacre has an 80s vibe with their sound. Their atmospheric sound really grabbed me.
I had only heard the studio version so when the credits started rolling I was shocked that the movie version was different. I think this version is better. It gives me 80’s horror movie vibes.
Oh this is better than the version on Spotify
I like this version better
I love everything about this song forever 🔥🤘♥️🎸🎸
Anyone else looking forward to when someone takes clips from the movie and have this song playing in the background?
Hunter's Moon tonight!
Holy shit this sounds soooo cool
holy FUCK. this is amazing.
Beautiful 💕💖
BRUTAAAAAAAAAL !!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Yeah when i listened to this at the end of Halloween Kills I did think to myself it sounded kinda different than the other versions I heard here on UA-cam
I was very surprised to hear this version at the end of the movie, much better than the original.
