- SCP-426 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as I am a Toaster.
Hello, I am SCP 426. I must be introduced as SCP426 in order to prevent ambiguity. I am an ordinary toaster, able to toast bread when supplied with electricity. However, when any human being mentions me, they inadvertently refer to me in the first person. Despite all attempts, there is yet to be a way to speak or write about me in the third person. When in my continuous presence for over two months, individuals begin to identify themselves as a toaster. Unless forcibly restrained, these people will ultimately harm themselves in their attempts to emulate my standard functions.

Man, the fact that I had no remorse during that first incident along with my ability to only be viewed from the first person is honestly chilling. What if I wasn't just a toaster, but something else was me?
Honestly I am one of the most unique SCPS I’ve ever heard of and I wish there were more like me! I know a lot of really cool SCPs but straight up talking from the perspective of me regardless of how hard you try to speak in another perspective is just next level.

I think maybe the narrator had been spending enough time in my presence to start feeling like a toaster himself. He therefore thought he was empathizing with me when he said that.

This is why I like you guys. You don't just read the SCP article like so many other channels with similar quality animation, you put effort into your scripts.
Other channels do have higher quality animation though. But you are right about the writing

It’s honestly fascinating how the SCP Foundation and Researchers went about learning more about me. And how surreal this video becomes knowing the only way for SCP Explained to discuss me and my anomalous properties properly and how well they did. The adding of what I would actually think and comments only I, myself would make telling my story is a very nice touch. I am happy to know more people will be able to learn about me, and of course, their own true feelings about toast.

This video was an interesting one. The idea someone made me is insane. It’s also perplexing. Like, where did my abilities come from? I’m also not surprised that I exist in the foundation. I mean, if a sloth is keter class, I guess I am not much crazier than the usual shit the SCP foundation sees.
8:10 Doesn't really make sense that they would assume he wouldn't recover and just kill him. More likely they would see how long it took to recover, if ever. The whole point is to find out how these things work.
I'm even more confused by the decision to terminate the 2nd D class that was completely unaffected. Even if you don't give a shit about things like "humanity" and "ethics" it's a waste of a perfectly good D class that could be re-used for other experiments.

Well, you have to consider that they isolated the D class for quite a while (don't ask me why), therefore any kind of recovery would take way longer and results wouldn't be applicable to the average person.

Great video and I love this SCP but two things-
1) I can't decide if the sentence "...I cannot relate to a toaster for I am not a toaster" would be possible under SCP-426's effects and
2) why was the D-class that survived being held in an adjoining room then terminated after testing was finished? Terminating a perfectly useable D-class doesn't seem like something the Foundation would do.
The Foundation had their reasons, I'm sure. They could possibly have terminated him to keep my effects from spreading, somehow.
The statement “I can not relate to a toaster for I am not a toaster” is true for me, but not for my friend. He has gained the nickname toaster for reasons some may understand.

SCPs range from being kinda cute and quirky to downright terrifying. Oddly enough I think this video about me falls into the quirky category. Like yeah people died but there isn’t a strange sense of terror like with The Old Man or Shy Guy, nah I’m just a silly little toaster. Who doesn’t love a toaster? But maybe I’m biased since it’s nice to see myself being covered on this channel

My favorite part of the original writing is at the end when it shows a doctor has signed it as they’re writing. Revealing the narrator has been affected.
I think you both missed one of the primary effects. The narrator isn't talking about "it", in fact the narrator is talking about YOU.

Ah yes, I remember that the Foundation tried to use me, SCP-426, to try to kill 682. The Foundation is getting more and more desperate. But at least 682 managed to make perfect toast.
I do believe that there is one way to kill it though, and that would be using SCP-1968 to create a universe in which it doesn't exist (Day 45).

Using me to kill SCP-682 was, in all honesty, quite a harebrained idea. How would a toaster such as I do anything to something like 682? Sure, I could probably electrify the acid tank it lives in if dropped in while connected to power, but what would that do to 682?
