Your eternal destiny will be determined by your “worldview” in addressing these issues. And there are really only two world views: either everything - including you- is the result of some kind of cosmic accident, or this is all the result of a deliberate design by a Designer. This issue could not be more fundamental.

I’ll never forget one time I was standing on my friend’s balcony and we saw something with large wings flying about 20-30k feet up. It was daytime in California, clear skies. My friend worked in aviation and could easily tell how high up that flying being was. It was as high as an airplane, but clearly it had flapping wings. It must have been the size of an airplane. I always thought maybe it was a dragon. It was too high up to be able to tell what it was, but it clearly had flapping wings. I’ve seen bald eagles high in the sky. This was not that. It was way too big. The wings flapped slowly. It just kept flying straight across the sky until we couldn’t see it anymore.

I love Chuck, and koinonia house ministry, and Chuck may be right about Babylon coming into prominence, but it may not happen the way we think. Babylon where it stood doesn't have to rise to be finished off for good, and the book of revelation says that Babylon, the woman that rides the beast, sits upon many waters, and I don't think it's a good idea to compare Babylon with Israel or Jerusalem, in that Israel and Jerusalem are where they are, but as stated, Babylon is said to sit upon many waters, this is never said of Israel and or Jerusalem, so those who would say that they used to say Israel would never be back in the land so maybe the same is true of Babylon are confusing the two, but hey, I hope we're not here to find this out.

The canopy type theories don’t add up. If people are living 500 years + after the ark touched down then obviously the explanation of 70 year lifespans can’t be explained away by appealing to a total reorganization of the integrity of the planet during that flood. It would have to be more about some type of gradual plummeting of the integrity of human genetics.
Babylon is NOT there anymore.
The "tell" of the city of Babylon lies desolate.
No animals even dwell there.
They built a new town a few hundred meters away but it's NIT Babylon.
It's adjacent to Babylon.
