Me being a Jisoo Biased Blink, I find myself so happy hearing you say that you love her voice, it really does hit you differently in certain songs. Fun fact: you're not wrong. BP girls had not been allowed much un the writting process but Lovesick Girls (which is my favorite BP song ever) did have Jisoo and Jennie participating in the lyrics and Jennie in production, so I hope they are given more opportunities to participate on later projects. I am subscribing to your channel because I appriciate honesty and enjoy watching you. Color me a Fan or yours!!

jisoo and jennie are co-writers on lovesick girls and in the other songs there are short excerpts with references about the girls. for example: in pretty savage, lisa rapping about being skinny (she has already suffered hate for being "too skinny" 🙄). you never know is one of the most personal songs and has several insides, but highlighting one, jennie sings "you'll never know unless you walk on my shoes, cause everybody sees what they wanna see, it's easier to judge me than to believe" (she must be the female idol who gets the most hate in the whole kpop industry). so they all gave a hand in the songwriting, but unfortunately they were not credited
In my opinion, Lovesick Girls have the best lyrics besides You Never Know. No surprise since Jisoo and Jennie wrote it 💕

FINALLY you reacted to this album. The thing with BLACKPINK, is that yes, we know we don’t get many songs from them. But when they do release a song, IT. IS. A. SONG. Love them or hate them, they hit the mark every single time. So happy your enjoying the songs so far.

Just for context, Pretty Savage was a call out to their haters. When Lisa said that she was born skinny b*tch because she was being told hateful stuff regarding her weight since their debut. A lot of its lyrics was a response to what people say about them which they dont usually do, at least not directly like in this song. That is why they also said "YOUR JEALOUSY IS THE PROBLEM"

One thing about Blackpink that you should know about Blackpink is that their songs are always top quality. Top notch. Even their bsides have top notch production. You don't need to understand the lyrics to bop to them.
Excluding their collabs since American producers, take part and the quality goes down.

Then, I really felt sorry that Jisoo doesn't have a lot of lines too, but when they're going to perform this live, Jisoo will probably take most of Selena's lines, just like they did with Kiss and makeup with Dua Lipa. I think they actually put thought into this.

Yg does not give them writing credits up until recently, it also happened with their other girl group 2ne1. In this song, Jisoo and Jennie wrote lyrics and Jennie took part in producing, Rosé was involved in both her songs, plus they all wrote verses for their solo performances in the show. Also, as a yg trainee, for debut you have to be able to write and create songs since they evaluete that. I hope in a future yg gives them the recognition they deserve!

About the lyric writing unfortunately they overall don't but this album has some participation on lovesick girls by Jennie and jisoo. And rose wrote for her solo stuff (also Jennie wrote some lyrics for stay I think but she never got credit? This might be a fan rumor idk) Hopefully in the future it's more
It’s true sadly. Just like how Rosé only got credit for writing her solo, but not production, which she herself said she did. Same for Jennie with Solo. 😔

You never know is a really special song for the Blackpink members and us , Blinks. Blackpink faced a lot of issues from haters, who discredit them,their talent, their skills. They judged them bc of their success, bc they are so talented and beautiful inside and outside. And Blinks were always there to protect our girls. We fought together against the haters and their mistreatment of their own agency who never credit them for their lyrics etc . 4 years , we suffered a lot, but we finally saw the light. Every blink cries with this song it is a special song for us

The M/V for Ice Cream is a lot of fun. And there is also an "official" lyric video with the girls performing on a video call. And there is an animated dance video.
Unfortunately, it was all done last summer during Covid restrictions, so Blackpink and Selena have not been able to do an actual performance together yet.
