I guessed Korean as well as the speaker lol. JK.
me too :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Sameeeeeee!
I was wondering why it sound so familiar
Me too. I was like “wait this is one of the members!” Haha
Thought it was Jin but then JK haha
*sounds of an Indian language*
me immediatly: Hindi!!!
*hindi track playing*
me: well it wasn‘t Hindi the last 10 times so maybe it’s Bengali
same 😂😂😂
Hindi means turkey in Turkish.
ME 😂😂
same with me just that i said urdu then
@@YTYY Hindi and Urdu are basically the same so I gave myself a point anyway 😅
everyone’s guessing the korean speaker was from BTS... i’m just here hearing the latin and knowing immediately that it was the Pope!
Oh...that was the Pope? I guessed Italian for it lol. Didn't know it was the Pope otherwise it would've been a dead giveaway.
Ahh see I recognized it as the pope but couldn’t recognize the language as Latin hahaha. Assumed it was some sort of Italian. Guess that’s on me for not knowing the pope speaks Latin
YEEEEESS ME TOO ahhaaha I heard the voice and knew was the pope
🇦🇷🇦🇷
Ex-pope. It was Benedict XVI
@@V0r4xiz Pope emeritus
I only guessed English 😂 I am really good at this
Reis Türkçe yok mu
@Lethean Özbek dedim ona
Meanwhile I’m sitting here with almost all right xD
And even that was probably Australian...
I guessed English / West Frisian / Catalan / Italian and I should have also gotten Latin and Afrikaans because I am studying them, but I couldn’t understand a word from those audio recordings, but West Frisian was so easy to guess as it has that refined sound that only Germanic languages have - I am beginner level in Frisian languages and Faroese and upper intermediate level in Icelandic and Norse and advanced level in Norwegian and upper advanced level in Dutch, and learning many languages, including all the Norse / Germanic / Nordic languages and the 6 modern Celtic languages etc!
When the Korean came I already knew it was Korean by the ahh. 😂
Well I guessed:
-Arabic
-Korean (it's BTS's Jungkook voice btw) yup even guessed the person .
-English
-Italian
-Farsi
-chinese (mandarin)
-Hindi
.....ect
how could you guess arabic and persian? just wondering
@@smoshi2884 well, Arabic because I learnt it..
and persian... Idk maybe cuz I'm used to listen to it sometimes
11 right. It's interesting that I could guess Hawaiian and Maori by recognizing the typical Polynesian phonology and then hearing very clear American and New Zealand accents and influence in their speech.
I mistook hawaian for ainu
Jay shri krishna.
@@guilhermefaleiros4892 Bruh I thought it was Tagalog
i got māori purely because i hear it quite often, given that i live in nz, and i got hawaiian because its just māori with glottal stops and L sounds
I only guessed Korean and I know that was Jungkookie
I just picked out the words I recognised along with the voice and pronunciations. And the sampling of the sentence. Wouldn't have guessed it was Jungkook tho
6:05
The way I said "Jungkook" instead of the language lmao
As tough as previous ones :D What I guessed again:
- Mandarin - sure of it
- Latin - sure of it
- Slovak - sure of it
- Korean - sure of it
- Italian - sure of it
- English - it repeated? :)
Surprisingly, I had big trouble with Arabic and Hindi as accents seemed surprising to me. Or at least didn't match my usual experience with these languages.
Wow you guessed alot👏
Maybe because the Arabic spoken here is Egyptian Arabic they pronounce few letters in a different way
Hindi is perfectly fine , it's from a popular news anchor
How the hell did I not realise he was speaking farsi- hell, my mom speaks it with me!
Wow, funny hearing Summer Heights High used for English. Nice to see Hawaiian and Māori, too.
Part 1: 2/22
Part 2: 6/22
Part 3: 8/22
Hawaiian
Chinese
Latin
Maori
Filipino
Korean
Italian
English
Not bad, im improving now.
bonus points for not only guessing the language but exactly who’s speaking as well. jungkook, i hear you
Come from the first two videos, hope better this time: Yes, eight, better than the past videos
4. Catalán ( because of spanish)
6. Mandarin (very unique)
8. Latin ( pope's Voice?)
15. Korean (bts fan)
16. Italian (the most beautiful)
18. English ( sounds funny)
21. Arabic ( very soft accent)
22. Urdu of Hindi ( it's the same with other écriture system)
Jajaj
yes it was Pope's voice
English in Australian accent.
Italian isn’t even close to the most beautiful, and there’s nada funny about the heavenly language English which is one of the most professional and serious languages ever with the perfect sound, it’s Chinese and most others that sound funny lol - the prettiest and most refined / magical / perfect / unique / poetic and coolest languages ever are Norse / Icelandic / English / Dutch / Faroese / Norwegian / Gothic, and also Welsh / Breton / Cornish etc, and I guessed English / West Frisian / Catalan / Italian and I should have also gotten Latin and Afrikaans because I am studying them, but I couldn’t understand a word from those audio recordings, but West Frisian was so easy to guess as it has that refined sound that only Germanic languages have!
The Korean one was speaken by Jungkook 😂
Ok
Ok
You did not just use Ja'mie King as the English language example, I can't 😂😂😂
I let myself have 1/2 a point for if I get in the ballpark (I thought Hawaiian was Maori, Frisian was Dutch, etc). I was most pleased when I got Macedonian, since I heard her mention "Tel Aviv," realized she was from a Slavic country competing in Eurovision 2019, and that narrowing it down, it could've only been Tamara Todevska!
EDIT: and then there actually WAS one in Maori! Won't spoil anything else just in case (don't check the comments section if you haven't done this video!).
The ones I got outright: Catalan, Chinese, Swahili, Latin, Maltese, Macedonian, Slovak, Maori, Italian (technically I guessed Neapolitan since I feared Italian was too obvious, but that's a dialect of Italian so I'm counting it), and English
The ones I gave myself half a point for: Hawaiian (guessed Maori), Frisian (guessed Dutch), Gujarati (guessed Urdu), Filipino (guessed "Singlish," which technically isn't even a language), Kyrgyz (guessed Turkmen - that thumbnail is a red herring), and Arabic (guessed Berber).
I STARTED FREAKING OUT AT CATALAN!!! One of my favorite languages, and I recognized it immediately even though I don't speak it.
it’s my mother-tongue ^^
@@s0farawayy Aaah, that's amazing! 😯😍
Wow i had several correct! Frisian,Mandarin, Gujarati, Filipino,Korean, Italian, English (AU accent), Hindi
Mixed up Arabic so many times before, that i did not have it correct this time.
I am Gujarati person.
Maltese sounds like an Italian person speaking Arabic, but some pronunciations are influenced by english
That's pretty much it haha
Me: *hears something that sounds like Dutch with English words thrown in..."
Me: FRISIAN!
I got:
1. Chinese - Mandarin
2. Latin (was confused at first, but guessed it coz it sounded like a mass)

6. Korean
7. Italian
8. English (Australian accent, I think)
9. Arabic

I managed to recognize Hawaiian, Catalan, Mandarin, Swahili, Latin, Maltese, Filipino/Tagalog, Korean, Italian, and uh... English. :P
I guess
English
Swahili
Korean (the speaker is bts’s Jungkook btw)
Chinese
I got right 3 only: Italian and Latin (cause they sound like Portuguese a little bit); and English.
I'm Dutch and I had the feeling I was having a stroke hearing the Frysian part.
Love languages and the first one is from my home Hawaii wished I was a speaker of ‘Ōlelo, when I return after being in Spain I want to speak it
Hawaiian, catalan, mandarin, latin, maltese, slovak, maori, filipino, korean, italian, farsi, english, arabic. 13/22
If you're looking for more language guessing challenges, I made some on my channel in order of difficulty
I can get the region or language family but I'm almost always off on the specific language it is. I've only guessed a handful right so far.
13. Mongolian, Catalan, Mandarin Chinese, Swahili, Latin, Maltese, Slovak, Maori, Italian, Farsi, English, Arabic, Hindi. The most difficult was Catalan, Swahili and Maori. My native is Russian but I used to live in UAE.
14/22
I got Hawaiian, Catalan, Mandarin, Swahili, Latin, Maltese, Slovak, Filipino, Korean, Italian, Farsi, English, Arabic, and Hindi.
I said Dutch for Frisian, Nahuatl for Mongolian, Zulu for Chichewa, Slovenian for Macedonian, Palauan for Maori, Bengali for Gujarati, Irish for Afrikaans, and Uzbek for Kyrgyz.
I got 11. English, Latin, Catalan, Slovak, Tagalog, Korean, Arabic, Gujarati, Mandarin, Macedonian, and Italian.
I guessed Latin, Slovak, English, Italian, Macedonian, Maltese and Catalan. Doing nice!

shoutout to The HU for being the reason I got Mongolian right (and was waiting for it this whole time)
I guessed Chinese, Maltese, Maori, Filipino, Korean, Arabic, Hindi.
And English lol
Guessed: Hawaiian, Catalan, Mandarin, Latin, Maltese, Filipino, Italian, Persian, English, Arabic, and Hindi.
I guessed correct 9 (Hawaiian, Catalan, Mandarin, Latin, Slovak, Korean, Italian, English, Kyrgyz). It's easier when you watch previous episodes, so you know which languages have already been used
I got Farsi right thanks to the turtle who sings that it doesn't want to go to war 🎤🐢
I could guess: 6 Chinese, 9 Maltese, 11 Slovak, 16 Italian, 17 Farsi, 18 English, 21 Arabic
Latin, yes, but spoken by a German :D I guess that was Pope Ratzinger speaking.
Anyway, great videos, really! It's amazing how many languages and sounds there are all around the world
It was Benedictus Decimus Sextus himself.
it was also more medieval than antique pronunciation.
I got Arabic, Maltese, Swahili, Gujarati, Farsi and Kyrgyz
I guessed Catalan, Mandarin, Swahili, Latin, Maltese, Korean, Italian and English (8 in total)
Almost guessed: Frisian (I said Dutch), Macedonian (I said Montenegrin), Gujarati (I said Punjabi), Kyrgyz (I said Turkmen)
És hol a magyar? :(
#21 is not just Arabic, as in Modern Standard Arabic, but the Egyptian dialect
Which is still technically arabic

11/20: Hawaiian, Catalan, Mandarin, Swahili, Latin, Maori, Filipino, Korean, Italian, English, Hindi
The moment English came up I was like WAT??
I got 7: Catalan, Mandarin, Maltese, Slovak, Tagalog, Italian and obviously English as it's my 2nd language.
As Albanian i guessed English,Italian,Latin,Slovak,Catalan,Korean,Arabic,Mandarin,Hindi and I took Farsi for Persian
Got Hawaiian (heard Aloha), Catalan, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, Australian English, Egyptian Arabic.
I was very close for a couple. I guessed Turkmen for Kyrgyz, Pashto for Farsi, Urdu for Hindi (I think that one should count), Punjabi for Gujarati. I also guessed "Kenyan" for Swahili, which turned out to not be a language haha.

The way I immeadeatly sadi THAT'S JUNGKOOK
I learnt Latin for one year in school but still got it wrong lol
Meanwhile my European ass got Hindi, Chinese, Filipino and Korean right 😂😂
Ps: Thank you Jeongguk for your sweet message, we love you too🥰
You could notice it was Latin just by hearing the Pope's voice! :p
That's because the Latin had a thick Germanic accent. I thought it was a Romance language from Switzerland...
jungkook is the korean speaker lmao
I only got Chinese, Italian and English lol
I got Frisian, because as an Afrikaans speaker it sounded familiar, but I knew it wasn’t quite Dutch,. I obviously got Afrikaans and English as well. As a South African, I recognised Chiwa as a Bantu type African language, but it wasn’t familiar enough to be a local South African language, so I guessed Swahili. When Swahili came up after that, I again recognised it as Bantu and again guessed Swahili, second time lucky. I got Italian because I’ve heard it enough, and all of the Slavic langauges I guessed a Slavic language, but never the correct one. The Catalan piece contained the place name “Mallorca” which helped. I did not guess Arabic, which I am dissapointed in myself. I also did not guess Maltese, although I heard clear Italian words inbetween unfamiliar, sounds so was again a bit dissapointed. (I guessed Romanian for the Maltese one, because I knew it is related to Italian but with Eastern European influences). I should have known the Italian words sounded just too Italian considering the unfamiliarity of other words, so with that knowledge I should have gotten Maltese.
Fun game! Thanks.
I got English / West Frisian / Catalan / Italian and I should have also gotten Latin and Afrikaans because I am studying them, but I couldn’t understand a word from those audio recordings, but West Frisian was so easy to guess as it has that refined sound that only Germanic languages have - I am beginner level in Frisian languages and Faroese and upper intermediate level in Icelandic and Norse and advanced level in Norwegian and upper advanced level in Dutch, and learning many languages, including all the Norse / Germanic / Nordic languages and the 6 modern Celtic languages etc!
However, that non-pretty language isn’t related to Italian or Latin languages at all, it’s just miscategorized despite the fact that it doesn’t look and doesn’t sound Latin at all, so it isn’t Latin in any way, and it should have been properly categorized in its own group with the other similar languages that are based on it, pfff - the true Latin languages are Latin / Galician / Portuguese / Spanish / Pretarolo / French / Gallo / Friulian / Esperanto / Sardinian / Guernsey / Neapolitan / Walloon / Catalan / Sicilian / Corsican / Ladin and the other languages based on Italian that haven’t been officially recognized as a language yet, despite being a different language with different spelling, which have the typical Latin sound and the typical Latin word endings and letter combinations, which is what makes a language what it is!
When Korean came on I was so surprised! I knew immediately it was Korean and then then speaker said: "Thank you to the reporters, to our ARMYs" ... that's when I realized it was Jungkook from BTS!!
all kpopers watching all the videos to see when korean appears
7 this time. I got Frysian and Afrikaans because I recognized some Dutch and realised I didn't know what they were saying despite that xD
Guessed Filipino, I am Filipino and I understand the language Philippines #PINOYGANG Mabuhay! 🇵🇭
I got 6/22.
1.Mongolian(I heard 'kh' sound).
2. Mandarin( Tones/Voice).
3. Filipino( I heard 'ang words).
4.Korean( His voice).
5.English( Ohh thats too hardd😂😂)
6. Arabic (I heard 'makhraj' sound).
My almost correct answer:
1. Maori( I think Hawaiian).
2. Krygyz ( I think Kazakh. Because beautiful turkic sound. Wth😠😠😂).
Btw please subscribe my youtube channel. Like and share my video. Please hit a bell after subscribe my channel. I hope my channel increase your knowledge🤗🤗🤗.(English Subtitle provided)
The person in the Chinese audio, I'm pretty sure she's a Japanese table tennis player
I didn’t keep count, but was that Ira Losco for Maltese?
You got it! :)
Number 21 * Egyptian accent *
Chinese, Latin (only the Romance family, but not the language itself), Maltese, Macedonian, Slovak, Italian, English, Kyrgyz (my thoughts were also Uzbek or Azerbaijani).
8 right. I kept guessing Urdu for a bunch of them, thought Swahili was something from Oceania and got bamboozled by Frisian (I'm learning Dutch). On the other hand I got Hawaiian, Latin and Mandarin. Came so close to guessing Kyrgyz but I thought it's from Tajikistan.
Ira Losco speaking Maltese 🇲🇹😋
As an Udru speaker, it's really annoying to know that even if I understand what they're saying, I'll up saying Urdu instead of Hindi 🤦♀️
My Indian mother and my Pakistani step-father couldn't tell the difference so it shows that they are the same language just written with different alphabets 🇮🇳🇵🇰
Got Hawaiian (TOO MANY vowels!), Catalan, Latin, Italian, English. At second time 1 day later got Korean, Arabic and Afrikaans too.
i guessed only mandarin, latin, maltese, slovak, italian, farsi, english and arabic right
Why did you use summer heights high for English hahahaha
lmao i only guessed italian, korean, french and english 🤩
Mandarin, Maori, Italian, Korean, English, Afrikaans, Arabic
10/22, Frisian and Afrikaans were easy because I'm Dutch:)) I also guessed Latin which I didn't expect 😅
what is the main difference between afrikaans and dutch ? i can never recognize them when i hear them, and do native dutch people understand afrikaans ?
@@arealnowhereman8255 It's mostly the pronunciation, because a lot of words are written the same way, and if not it's very similar. So as a Dutch person you can understand almost everything when they speak Afrikaans
I thought Frisian was Dutch ahahahaahha, they are pretty similar, aren't they?
s s it’s mostly pronunciation and spelling. Accent also plays a HUUUUUGE part. Some vocabulary as well though. Afrikaans comes from Dutch which is why they’re so similar. I went to the Netherlands recently (I speak fluent Afrikaans) and i found that the Dutch and the Afrikaners understand each other if we speak slowly to each other. Sometimes I’d struggle so much I would just switch to English😂
Ste TFH I might be horribly wrong but as I understand it, Frisian is a dialect of Dutch and it’s spoken close to the boarder that separates Nederland and Deutschland
I got Chinese, Korean, Italian, English and Egyptian Arabic (Guess my mother language)
3:38
7:15
Both of those are my country's languages.
That 'Frisian' sounded remarkably Dutch.
I study dutch and still guessed it when frisian came on
I guessed five correctly
From part 1 and 2 I just knew 2-2
At last! A languages quiz that has English to guess!
Right answer - what I guessed
Hawaiian - Hawaiian
Frisian - Dutch
Mongolian - Mongolian
Catalan - Catalan
Chichewa (never heard it until now) - Zulu or Yoruba
Mandarin - Mandarin
Swahili - didn't even attempt to guess since I don't know anything about African languages
Latin - Ladin or Romansch (the Germanic accent threw me off)
Maltese - a regional language from Sweden or Norway (how did I guess this!?)
Macedonian - Portuguese
Slovak - Czech
Maori - ???
Gujarati - Malay or Vietnamese
Filipino - Filipino
Korean - Korean
Italian - Latin (had a much better Latin accent than the actual Latin!)
Farsi - Hungarian or a Turkic language
English - English
Afrikaans - Sranan Tongo
Kyrgyz - Kazakh
Arabic - Arabic
Hindi - Hindi
As an Australian, I'm not sure if that was actually English
I got: Catalan, Mandarin, Latin (saw a comment mentioning it though), Maltese, Filipino (well, Tagalog), Italian, Farsi, and English.
I was close to Slovak (Czech), Gujarati (Hindi), and Kyrgyz (Uzbek)
How did you guess maltese
Man the English sound clip was the worst possible example of English. :D
I only have four! Chinese, Latin, Korean and Italian. Oh, wait, there was English, too.
I got right Frisian, Catalan, Mandarin, Latin, Slovak, Korean, Italian, Farsi, English, Arabic.
6/22 Mandarin, Filipino, Italian, Korean, English. Arabic.
6 points, but only thanks to italian (my mother language), English and latin! (Omg, years and years of study of latin for THIS MOMENT)
1) Malaysian 2) Portuguese 3) Arabic 4) Catalan 5) Swahili-Chichewa 6) Cantonese - Mandarin 7) Yoruba- Swahili 9) Romanian- Latin 10) Flemish 11) ??? 12) Czech 13) ?? 13) Hindi 14) Hindi 15) Japanese 16) Italian 17) Arabic 18) bruh 19) ?? 20) Armenian 21) Arabic 22) Turkish
I got Slovak, Italian ,Arabic, Hindi and English
