Great video, seems a great guy and I've heard he really loves all the vintage stuff. Went to his shop last time I was in Munich, unfortunately he wasn't there, would've loved to meet him.
If I remember right, the luthier he mentioned - Boris Dommenget - is the same guy who designed and built Uli Jon Roth's first Sky guitars back in the 80s, before he licensed them to Dean.

7:20 refinished from Pewter? C'mon, you should know Candy Apple Red was done layering coats, the metallic first, then a red dye, and they also used Gold metallic

Eddie Van Halen wasn't the first guy to put an angled humbucker in a Stratocaster. Joe Walsh and others did it well before EVH.

7:50 - nice transitional DuoSonic - the transitional logo and larger headstock is clearly early-ish CBS so these are not "ALL pre-CBS."

I always wondered if someone thought about all the demands of instruments one can have in a completely pack studio and yet he designed one by one and then designed a two-fits all solution guitar. The guy was all over the same ideas 14 years ago. Buying any of these would kick boden in the rear, if that was your budget.

Where in this video does he claim or pretend like he came up with the idea? He talks about going ADD on the angle and position...thats not a claim of invention.
The special pickup technique he is talking about is the silent coil and the blower switch.

eddie wasnt the first one to do that thing and i dont think matthias knows too much about van halen anyway even if their sound is very similar; anyway they are very good guitar players jabs plays with more feeling while eddie plays with more technique.

01:10 - still got the tagger on it... never been played, it can never be played.
Don't touch that! Don't even point! No, you've seen enough of that...

The American at the beginning killed Matthias' last name. It is not 'Yobs'. To make it sensible in english the closest I can think for a spelling is 'Yebs" the 'eb' is a bit similar to the sound of 'Reb' as in Reb Beach but softer. Actually pronounce Reb with a Y at the beginning then make it plural and you have Matthias' last name.
The American also mispronounces 'matthias' the 'ma' part sounds like a baby saying 'ma'. 'tthi' sounds like 'tea' end with 'us' just like in English
