I just want to add this info here to share with you. He came to this audition in a very casual manner because he was not interested in winning when he first attended. He was in a band in college so many singing shows tried to recruit him to join the singing competition, but he always declined. One day, the Super Boy competition producer called him again and invited him to lunch. He happened to be near the school cafeteria so he agreed to meet with the producer there for lunch since he needed to eat anyway. He only agreed to join the local competition because he has never been to that city before and the producer promised to treat him many local yummy food. Even when he made it through rounds of competition, he was not so sure about debuting because he was afraid of cameras, showing himself to the public and losing his privacy then. He considered quitting at one time (because he was afraid that he couldn't repay all the love he had received as he couldn't reply to the nice comments one by one) but the TV crew spent the night till dawn convincing him by saying that he won't become very famous. Haha, look what happened now! You are totally right that music is his comfort zone, so even if he could be a shy person in social occasions, he doesn't get nervous on stage or when he is with friends talking about music at all. As a matter of fact, he gets more relaxed the bigger the stage is, as the music producer close to him mentioned.
As a fellow foodie, I love this story on so many levels! I feel like we would be kindred spirits lol. I'm easily persuaded when it comes to food. I just wish my body would look as great as his lol!!! I love that that led him to where he is today ❤~ Sabrina

I think you already know this, but on that show, he is given a song that he isn't familiar with, and he is required to re-write/re-arrange the song to fit his style within 24 hours. I would recommend, if possible, that you try to find the original versions of the songs he has to rework just so you can get an idea of how truly amazing he really is when it comes to composing.

It's good to see your appreciation for Hua. As you see more of his interviews and backstage interviews, you will adore him more. This is one of my favorite audition of Hua. Yes it's worth seeing all his performances. Unfortunately there's very few episodes that have eng subs with judges reactions to his performances. But you can tell by the scores what they think of him. Even though you know the outcome, it was still a nail biter, because few times he almost didn't make it to the finals. I loved watching it all. If you have a chance, you can react to eng sub with just his performances, but later if you prefer in private, you can see the long version without eng sub. I think its rather interesting seeing how the competitors get through each phase.

She's the one that "technically" discovered both Hua Hua and Dimash, because thanks to her we were exposed to both of their amazing talent. Recently, she was a producer/judge on the singing competition called Super-Vocal, which I highly recommend you do some reaction to the performances. There are some amazing performances to be seen and heard from that show.
Laure Shang was the champion of Super Girl in 2006 (I found this from the Chinese Baidu site and the Wikipedia info seems to be wrong) too. She has gone through the same audition process like Hua Chenyu did. The reason she later discovered Dimash and became a judge in Super Vocal is due to that she started her own company and focused on discovering/cultivating new talents in recent years. She is a successful example of musicians transitioning into managing music talents in China (although I believe she still has some performances here and there).
