From the liner notes of the album:
'This song is based on the ‘tumba’ rhythm, which is one of the most typical rhythms of the island. (Curaçao) We mixed it up with some Cuban ‘timba’ influences and added some funk to it. In this song Dibo is telling us a (fictive) story that happened on the corner of Santa Maria (a very well-known area on the island.)'
“On the corner of Santa Maria, a street vendor known as One-legged Simon was robbed by two burglars while working on the streets to support his family. Trying to get away with their loot, the burglars did not see the car approaching as they came to their end… Mother karma just taught us another lesson: that’s life.”
