@@r3volution685 there's no 8 string guitar in these tracks actually I don't know what advice I can give, but for me it has always been one important thing, to play everything that comes to mind, no matter what style, genre or anything. Just play what you like.
Get a good guitar, set it up well, get a good signal chain. I played a squier bass vi for almost a decade and it's a pos that's been holding me back. A satisfying amp/preamp pedal is also a must. If it's not satisfying to throw down some chugs, it's not good enough. If you're fighting your guitar the whole time, it's not good enough. Don't buy something based off of looks, buy because it feels and sounds good. Everything else will come natural from there, as you'll be picking your guitar up as much as possible once you find the right gear.
