Since making this I've also noticed that you can use the edit path option on both the staff path and queues too. So, although it doesn't show the edit option in queues you can use the same one from the main, guest path tool and edit the nodes on a queue to make it wider or narrower if you want.
I would so love if you would do a video on how to manage staff and the electrical boxes. I haven’t found much on the web and it’s been extremely frustrating. It’s very different than the first game.
yeah unfortunately as of right now no you can't use those to stop people walking through buildings, my assumption is that that will change at some stage though because both kerbs, the fence barriers and the ribbon barrier were used for that in Planet Zoo too. The only option right now (and this possible but a pain) is to manually edit the path to precisely avoid the building using the edit path tool
actually, just thinking about it some more.... so another option that you can do (which again isn't better than the barriers) is to use the path delete tool and the stamp option in that to kinda nibble away to more precise edges to the path to again avoid the buildings.
@@Toves yeah that actually works great! Thanks for the advice. I just hope they will edit the kerbs and barriers to be able to stop people from walking through them!
This is a wonderful help but I'm on ps5 so trying to figure out some of the things you did with the correct button combos on console is difficult at times. Lol
Ah sorry about that, I have thought about that a few times and will try and learn some of the console controls so that I can include that for console players next time
Yeah I agree it can be quite finiky. The only thing I have noticed is if you have any other path close to what you're trying to round or if there's another (separated) path close then it doesn't do it consistently. The other I would suggest you try would be (if you can) to lower the terrain under the path to make it float, try again to round it and then raise the terrain back. That has worked for me
The pool paths are an option in the pools themselves, so either choose infinity or path when using the pool tool. One you have that you should be able to then blend that with anything you place using the path tool
I was momentarily so excited for that alternating path extras option, I had no idea they were adding that. Then realizing you can only do one extra and there’s no lamps… wtf, seriously why not lol
yeah just bare in mind that we're playing a pre-release version. I think that stuff will come (if not immediately then at some point down the line). You can see that the mechanics for it are there so I'm optimistic that that will happen. It'd also be great to be able to increase the gap between them to more than 12 metres too
@@Toves ah i just think its a bit bad compared to 1, i do like all the options but in 1 you could see the path and not place it to see and you could see the stairs and slopes but thats just my opinion, other people may like pc2 paths
Yup, the bins are in the scenery items (so with all the other build pieces, props etc) so just find what you want and plop it down. They're only placeable on paths
I just downloaded and was searching for a way to turn off path curbs. It was a pain in planco 1 to have them show up above ground. Now they show up at ground level too! I hope they add an option to remove. So far I am enjoying the game. Some minor annoyances like that but overall good.
Seeing that you have a massive pool in this video, unrelated to paths, but are you having issues with lifeguards leaving their assigned posts and just consistently "looking for work" instead of going back to the same post? It was bothering me so I rage deleted all my pools.
Yeah in my pools video I mentioned that I was having some issues with the lifeguards looping their behaviour. I've had them just constantly blowing their whistles too which was pretty annoying. Hopefully some of these sorts of things get ironed out soon. I've seen them constantly looking for work where I've got staff on the same schedule with not enough jobs to do... Usually where I've spammed in additional staff. Maybe try firing a few to see if that changes
No worries hopefully I can help. So your best option is to make sure that when you place down a pool it's not set to be an infinity pool. That should mean you get path automatically added with the pool
The pathing tools in this game are utterly diabolical. I can see you're trying to remain positive but even you ran into several aggravating and baffling bugs in this video. It's really just not good enough from Frontier.
I have to say personally I disagree. In my opinion they are a massive improvement. I'd say they give you a lot more flexibility, but that that comes with a steeper learning curve that will put some people off

i can already tell i'm going to use that rounding tool tip a LOT!
yeah it's really handy, I've noticed so far I've probably used it more on pools than I have on paths
You did an amazing job on this tutorial, thanks a lot!
Thanks very much
Thank you for making this, my paths are so bad
No worries, it just needs a bit of getting used to I think
Excellent introduction to paths. Great work
Thanks very much
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
Outstanding video, as is all your work. Can you do one for pools? I'm struggling and you do a great job at talking it down to my level. :)
Thanks very much, yeah funny you should say that, I'm working on one right now :)
I would so love if you would do a video on how to manage staff and the electrical boxes. I haven’t found much on the web and it’s been extremely frustrating. It’s very different than the first game.
Great suggestion I'll have a look at doing that
the thing you did with the octagon stamp to make a circle pool does not work if the pool is placed on / surrounded by paths
Yeah that probably makes sense
Salut Phil. Thank you for this presentation. 😀😀👍👍
Thanks Olivier

is there a way to have guests not walk through your buildings? i know planco 1 had curbs and barriers but those don`t seem to work in planco 2?

Handy vid, thanks! Seems odd that they didn't add a circle stamp.
Thanks. Yeah it is a bit

@Toves no worries at all, just knowing what you did was able to help me figure out how to do it with my controls.
I picked up a Logitech keyboard and mouse for my Xbox just for this game haha. Total game changer!
The rounding tool is really finiky and refuses to make the hex round? What am I doing wrong? Im doing the exact same thing as you yet it wont round :/
Yeah I agree it can be quite finiky. I wanna know how to make square paths for the queues

@ yep, PlanCo 1 was not perfect on release and all the nitpicks people have with the sequel seem fixable through updates
is there a way to revert to planet coaster 1 path building? PC2 paths are worse imo
There isn't a way to do that no, the "classic paths" is still very different.. Just out of interest what do you think makes them worse in PC2?
@@Toves ah i just think its a bit bad compared to 1, i do like all the options but in 1 you could see the path and not place it to see and you could see the stairs and slopes but thats just my opinion, other people may like pc2 paths
Yeah I agree with that, I preferred to actually see the path before I placed it too
Can I make my steps follow a grid?
Yeah that's a thing I've tried myself too, and I haven't found a way to do that yet
@ ugh hope they add it
Is there any way to add bins to a finished path?
Yup, the bins are in the scenery items (so with all the other build pieces, props etc) so just find what you want and plop it down. They're only placeable on paths

Did you figure out how to auto add bins and benchs together?
No, you can't do it right now I believe
Bro wait for the game to drop 😭🙏
idk how to build paths around pools this is so tearing my hair out
No worries hopefully I can help. So your best option is to make sure that when you place down a pool it's not set to be an infinity pool. That should mean you get path automatically added with the pool

Pathing in this game is much better than planet coaster 1
