- We're joined by Patrick Chu, managing director of W. W. Chan, as he guides us through how to iron a jacket. Check out the technique he uses for ironing the lapel in the later part of the video. Would love to learn more tips on caring for the jacket in tropical climate. How often should we send the suit for dry cleaning? What are other ways to clean the suit given that the wearer, in tropical climate such as Singapore, would most likely perspire while wearing it.
The answer is always 0 no matter what climate we are in. You don't dry clean unless there is an absolute need like a stain etc. use a garment or wool brush to remove physical debris, wipe down the inner lining with a damp cloth. Hang it up and air it out under the sun for 30mins to an hour. Store in a cabinet with a cedar or dried lavender etc. That's all is needed really.
