  • We joined up with Ed Lover, one of my subscribers to show him how to paint a motorcycle Chameleon.
    The Chameleon paint was laid down on a 2007 R1.
    I took Ed on a step by step tour on what products to use. We paint Custom Motorcycles! If you have a custom paint job idea, let me know.

    I remember the first time I ever painted anything. It was in about 1990, paining a 1974 Harley FXE. My intention was to paint it black, with blue pearl added to about every 3rd or 4th layer of clear (with about 20 layers total) to give it a "deep" look.
    Picked out some 1986 GM black and put down 4 coats. Looking good!
    Never worked with Pearl before, so I added a full rounded tablespoon into my 4th layer of clean. Now I got a blue bike lol
    What was cool was this, completely by accident: In the daytime, the bike was sparkling blue. In the dawn or at dusk, it was purple, and at night it was black. Completely by accident!

    I have to give BIG props to BigBandit007 for letting me swing by his paint booth and teaching me how to properly paint, we were out there until about 12:30am.I was getting so damn sleepy but once I saw that paint drop I woke up like as if I drank 4 cups of coffe at one time...., Big up to you my brother.

    My father and I have always painted our own parts as far as cars and bikes go. The only thing I can't do is powder coat, reason being because you need an oven for that. We use our shed just like you. The guy is not lying, anyone can do it! The hardest part is mixing the paint.

    primer is not needed for bikes, bare metal and body fillers only, and if you scuff first then wash with a scuff pad and dishsoap (dawn is the best) you definitely dont need the primer, for what you're doing , and by the way i got my training from DuPont, 18 years painting plastics.

    • @johnnyvaught2117
      @johnnyvaught2117 4 роки тому

      What about the tank. Does it need primer because it's metal
