Alex is going to take over the NBA UA-cam game very soon with this quality of content. Thank you for teaching us new things every video, and keep up the grind brother!
- His game is predicated strictly on skill. Most greats use speed/athleticism -- and then skill. Luka is incredible. Bird & Tim Duncan also come to mind. Luka's "only" slight is his ball dominance. But he's what, 23 yo? HolyMoly. Maybe DAL finds a better 2nd star and/or Luka utilizes some off-ball Curry movement.
Hes really just playing with everyone. Even his teammates arent ready for those passes sometimes. Hes a 6'7'' chess master out there. Its starting to feel like he alongside Jokic are gonna end up changing the game almost like Steph in the long run. Also this is one of the best explanations of his game Ive seen! Love the frame by frame breakdown. Amazing work dude.
watching luka play is amazing, he literally dismantles defenses, he is able to do legit whatever he wants, watching him play is like watching someone play against 5 year olds with the way that he dismantles defenses
Luka's ability to effortlessly push dudes around without getting the offensive foul is pretty impressive. He gets them close, and just shoves the shit out of them, without it looking like it took much effort. I am a 5'9 dude who weighs 210 in shape. I did the same thing back in the day. Literally knock a dude off his feet without trying too hard. Big boi physics. It's all about the presentation.
yeah thathighlight from last year against the suns showcased it. he did a cross and shoved with the off arm before the step back 3 dude slid across the floor and no one thought it was an offensive foul XD
Luka really is the evolution of heliocentric players we've seen. An offense to himself. His scoring reminds me so much of Paul Pierce and Melo in the sense that he knows how and isn't scared to use physicality in conjunction with his immense skill to just get whatever shot he wants off, whatever the situation. Thankful we get to exist the same time as this man damn
He just makes it look SOOOO easy. I hope he moves into skills coaching one day. Hopefully many, many years in the future because I love watching him play.
That fact that no part of his game relies on speed and burst is like the number one reason why I think he's got 15 more years in the league if he stays healthy. 38 year old Luka will still be able to do these things, it's pure skill and ball IQ
@@matissedemetsenaere1383 I know. There's so much to like about the way he's progressing, I'm super excited. Only thing that can ruin this is the Mavs front office or J Kidd
Feel like this video explains why Luka is so good better than any I've seen so far. Breaking down his look fakes really drives home what level this guy is operating at. Especially to give those kind of fakes while being pressured by a double team trap, of which you showed at least two. 9/10 times you're making the easy pass when pressured, and Luka manipulates this expectation of the defense.
Dallas has mismanaged it’s assets. It gave a way some picks for KP. And they got very little in return. Then let let their second best player go for nothing this summer. Organizations just can’t afford to do this. If they give up an asset, they need to get something in return. It’s the diminishing assets that has hurt this team and hurt Luka. They need to do better. I’m sure as a business man Mark Cuban knows this.
Luka is 23. Josh green(22) and Jaden Hardy(19) are both studs, and ascending. Christian Wood(26) has been playing improved defense and that should earn him more minutes. On 35 minutes a night he is easily a 20 ppg guy. THJ seems to have caught fire the last 4 games and if he could keep that up he could be a really great piece. And dinwiddie is often said to be the second best player. They are a center away from being a perennial championship contender. I would say they have mismanaged their contracts and players to a certain degree, but they've also had a little luck too. Myles Turner wants to come home. Idk how they can make cap room for him, but I'm certain they can figure something out this next off-season. If that happens, they are scary.
you should mention his defense is actually a little amped up this season, he seems to be making more on ball plays at the rym, and still pretty good at getting into the passing lanes at the right time
@@metalsadman yeah i always defended his bad defense by saying hes just saving energy for the other side where hes touching the ball 90% of the time, but it just aint bad anymore!!
He used to be a liability on defense, but last season and especially this season, that's just no longer the case. Not only is he not a liability anymore, he's actually an above average defender, which is crazy considering he's the best offensive player in the league at the same time 😂
His hype is definetly LeBronesque, love him since he came to the league (watching most mavs games for the last 3 years despite living in Europe) I love him, hope he will Retire his Shirt next to Dirk's with a Chip or Two. Man this guy could create a Dynasty if the puzzle gets completed. He has probably no Ceiling and could drop 50 in all Finals Games to Seal it. I know its biased AF but the Sensations Luka creates sometimes is already Legendary and simply Magic.
Who else in the NBA does all that every single night? He's not even in his prime yet. If his teammates could make their shots Mavs would be top 5 and Luka is the UNDISPUTED MVP
Gobert should have went to Dallas. He will be more effective with Luka. They need a good rebounder and shotblocker. That's the missing piece to contend deep in the playoffs. But they have no assets to trade for him. Poor Mavs!
Nah, Dallas mostly doesnt play drop coverage. Thats why McGee is so awfull. He is ok (not elite like Gobert) in drop, but not in hedge or switch systems. Hence why Powell, even as a bad rim protector and rebounder, works well in the starting lineup. He has a good lateral quickness and completely knows when he has to do what. In the Dallas system rotations are crutial. And Drop bigs like Gobert are just not good at that. RW III, Adebayo... those are ideal Bigs to play in our System. But they are just so hard to find.
@@wesuffermost Defensively? Sure! On offense, not sure. But on paper it should fit, cause he could take over the 2ndary playmaking and we could bring Dinwiddie off the Bench. But he wants a big extension... and he doesnt really fit Lukas timeline. On a short contract he would be a really good option.
I continually here that he dribbles too much and if he passes, his teammates have no time to create. After looking at multiple videos it is clear that Is BS. They typically have between 10-14 seconds to shoot or create. Plus it is the Mav's style under Kidd to stay on the perimeter and shoot three's. I feel they will start shooting better and those potential assists will become actual assists.
Bruh prime James Harden has been doing these against dynasties and Western power house teams/ super teams. These youtuber creators dont even give praise to who Luka took everything from. Jordan to Kobe is Harden to Luka. Why do y’all think Harden was in MVP convos for several years against tougher competition
Lol luka has better stats in every category except blocks. And isn’t far behind in that. Tatum a lot of games isn’t even the C’s best player…if Luka sits, mavs lose to rockets.
Not a warrior fan, so for me Steph is scariest. But Sthep, Giannis and Tatum have better teams at the moment - as additional scare and it is hard to compare. The amount of scoring/creating that Luka is creating makes me think that at the moment he is the best - but we will see his game when he gets more reliable team or when the Dallas shooters are out of the slump. Probably his shooting will drop and his assist will go up. It is crazy to have to play 40 min so that you get a 2 points win. But amount of gravity when Luka drives in the paint and ability to create open looks for the other, makes him best at the moment on offence for sure.
Where does Luka rank in the MVP race right now? 👇
first
First
Third
@@rlking5248 He'd be third if there were 2 more Doncic clones playing maybe
In my book first, NBA HEARTS 2nd
It feels like luka always makes the right read and sometimes makes a pass you don’t even see until you watch the play over 10 or more times😭

Stg man, I'm still surprised every single time some of those ridiculous shots go in and I don't think I'll get used to it either lmfao
I know its still pretty early in his career but i wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up a top 10 player of all time
@No Budget fs
I agree.
@No Budget he's constantly at top 5 in steals this season, and a great rebounder. so i say he's above average already.
@@metalsadman debatable, but he’s not terrible, which is all that matters for rn

Sadly not with that record. If Dallas somehow can get back to 50+ wins and a Top 4 (maybe 5 is enough) seed, then he is the clear cut favorite.
@user-fs3og2lz4i this s fake
