The magisterial Tomasz Gollob. How we miss him. He really was all or nothing. I once saw him go wheel to wheel with Jason.Crump for four laps at Poole in the 2004 World Cup. Incredible stuff.
Speedway was good around the 90,s in South Africa. Karl Letsky a Hungarian spent a lot of money bringing some of the best International riders, to many to mention to ride here. Around 95 or so Tomaz Gollod did a wheely getting the checker flag, put the front wheel down full lock keeping balance, went over the bars and broke his collar bone. The level at which these guys rode was incredible.
For me speedway was the best in the 90's. However, in the Polish league he was great until 2010, until those damn clogged silencers were introduced. Now speedway practically does not exist outside Poland, and even here people are fed up with this crap.
Turning left on a straight road may have been inelegant, but I don't remember anyone getting hurt with this maneuver (which is not prohibited by law). Another thing is the wild Nicki Pedersen. Yes, Gollob drove hard, in the 1990s everyone in the GP drove hard. And now, it's not a speedway anymore. I can't watch this circus :(
Tomasz Gollob ,what a rider!!!!

Thank you for existing and having this wonderful channel. Three things keep me alive: God, family and this sport (SPEEDWAY)
Great reca, especially he has a period of his carrer when he was very similar to Hans Nielsen with start, technic, moves etc.
Modelled himself on Nielsen
Great racing, i was there and remember it well. Thanks for the upload
Glad you enjoyed it
Good scrap. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Cheers.
Thanks 👍
i can remember seeing Tacey beat Gollob at Brandon and being astounded , i dont know if it was that night .

Exciting speedway! A Grand Prix rider against two 2nd strings. Gollob should have won that easily on paper.
Dang that was awesome!
Loved a bit of Gollob Mike.
"Mistrz jest jeden" T Gollob.
Uwielbiałem oglądać Tomasz, jakim był zawodnikiem.
Was never a fan of Gollob (but I was of Walshy - top bloke,) and that was truly a great heat of speedway.
Who actually won the race?

Gollob was an extremely talented rider but never liked his blatant disregard for other riders safety ie turning left on them mid straight.
i think he mellowed with age , he was brutal in the 90s.
That type of speedway is missed these days though. He certainly did mellow with age

Fair comment @@AmcinpiL
Gollob the elder, the maestro of speedway. Both his ups and his downs were spectacular.
