Peter Pan wasn’t necessarily the best guy. He almost let the mermaids drown Wendy once I think. He was a little boy, and kind of selfish at that. He may look better when compared to Captain Hook.
Let's not forget the version where he trapped his son in Pandora's Box.
A lot of the stuff Disney stole, adapted, and then claimed ownership over were originally dark with questionable "good guys".
Even this is kind of them stealing since the original actor of Disney's Peter Pan was another one of the child actors they basically cursed since they abandoned him once he did become a teenager, eventually dying on the street in his 30s from substance abuse and his body is still apparently buried in an unmarked grave in some New York cemetery.

It breaks my heart that you didn't get to experience the Disney afternoon lineup as a kid. Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Tail Spin, Duck Tales, Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck. You were robbed. 😔
As an Australian myself, I hadn't the opportunity to watch Chip n' Dale. However, I definitely got to watch, and enjoyed, Darkwing Duck. So that definately did air here, Mary must've missed it.

Also, fun fact (actually really disturbing fact): Peter Pan's backstory in this movie is inspired by Bobby Driscoll, who voiced him in the movie and was then thrown aside by Disney and died very young and in poverty.

The fact that this movie didn't get a theatrical release is a disgrace. I grew up with the Rescue Rangers, but even without that I thought this was one of the best Disney movies in years.

FUN FACT: Chip N' Dale TV Show is just 65 episodes, so most of the episode they mentioned are actually just made up for the movie, so it's not actually a referrence.

Yes, I also shed a few tears when Chip thought that Dale had died. I just knew that Chip remembered his and Dale's friendship. By the way, I also watched the Rescue Rangers as a kid (I had a crush on Chip)
that scene is the best one in the whole movie, as it shows what Dale feels for Chip, in that he leaps in front of the cannonball to save chip, and then Chip tells Dale what he really feels towards him.
I live in Australia and we had Chip n Dale on Channel 7 or 10. You weren't denied cartoons here in Australia, you were just born too late and missed all the good ones. I grew up watching TMNT, The Real Ghostbusters, Chip n Dale, Beetlejuice, etc.

The Seth Rogen viking character is a parody of the somewhat awkward cg of the 90's Beowulf movie (the one where the best animation was of a naked dragon Angelina Jolie...), mainly, but also a bit of the cg Final Fantasy movie.
Tigra is from Marvel Comics and the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon (which got shelved in favor of a different Marvel cartoon, which is why she's shown as a 3rd-stringer convention toon).
We did have it in Australia. It was called VHS 😁📼

I watched Chip and Dale as a little kid and loved it. Then it juts disappeared and went into the Disney vault. It's cool to see new people enjoy the characters.
Zipper's voice is really funny here because in the cartoon he didn't talk.
Don't blame non-Australian people for saying "shrimp on the barbie", blame the Australian government. That is a line that Paul Hogan said in a series of commercial for the Australian Tourism Commission back in the 80s. They should have written it as prawns if that's what they say. Also Australian for beer is just beer (not Foster's) 😄😄

You need to watch The Rescuers Down Under if you havent seen it yet. It’s a disney movie, but not a chip and dale movie. Still good.
You should totally check out some of the retro cartoons on your own time so you can just enjoy them. Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, GoofTroop, and one of my favorites, Gargoyles.
Chip and Dale was such a good time. Also excited to see what you think of Sonic 2.

When I first heard the name, I was so certain that "Sweet Pete" was going to be Pegleg Pete, the very first Disney villain...he appeared in *Steamboat Willie* ,and has reappeared time and time again throughout Disney history, often named (something-or-other) Pete.
Pete does show up in this flick, but not for too long. He's been flip-flopping between good guy and villain since the 90s.
18:00 Don't worry, it's an alternate version where he's an actor. What's really sad and messed up is that in this movie Sweet Pete's story is based on what really happened with Bobby Driscoll, Peter Pan's original voice actor.
As someone who used to watch Rescue Rangers as a kid this movie kinda blew my mind.
Glad you liked the movie, I loved the cartoon as a kid. It was on every day after school. The big bear was Baloo from the Jungle Book/TailSpin.
I grew up with Chip n Dale cartoons and comic books. I'm 71 now.
the interesting thing is that, if you take the movie timeline Chip and Dale in third grade in 1982, this means they were born in 1973 or there abouts. I think that's how the US system works. so they'd have been around 9 then. This means their grandfathers were the original Chip and Dale who appeared in Private pluto in 1943. that would make today's Chip and Dale around 48 years old. I can't say if their fathers got involved with antagonising Donald, but they probably did.
I'd highly recommend binging the Disney Afternoon cartoon shows.
Because I'm too old to have been into the original rescue rangers cartoon, I was confusing this with earlier animated movies called "The Rescuers" that starred two mice, by the way, there was a movie when they went to Australia, and I thought it was really good but I don't know if anyone out here would remember that.

Funny thing about ugly Sonic, they weren't sure they would be able to use him so they had a back up plan in just in case. In some of the story boards for Ugly Sonics scenes they were going to have Jar Jar Binks in his place. That would work considering Jar Jar Binks git a lot of hate when he first showed up in Star Wars. Lol
I saw every episode as a kid, and played the games and cross over Disney specials. Loved it. This movie had so many estereggs, it's crazy, had to see it 3 times to find them all.
Disney Afternoons were, Duck Tails, Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers, Tail Spin, and Darkwing Duck.

Considering that Rescue Rangers was distributed in over 20 different countries. I'm kinda shocked that it was not distributed in Australia.

Tigra was apart of the avengers back in day when fox kids and other basic cable still had their cartoon blocks. Sadly her avengers got canceled after one season. Along with spiderman unlimited, Nascar racers and escaflowne. Though in Escaflownes defense lot of the episodes couldn't be aired on fox kids.

in my opinion, the Chip and Dale who drove Donald duck to distraction were probably the Grandfathers of these two. just look at the timeline in the movie. Today's Chip and Dale were said to be in third grade US school system in 1982. private Pluto was first aired in 1943.
