Tip from a pro, always use cam locking tool, there only a few quid from most motor factors.
When you set the sension the belt was a bit slack on the cams this could be either cause you was a tooth too loose or cam timing was incorrect.
Fit belt from the non tensioned side firs and check it is not too slack then fit tension side and adjust as you did with the marker in line with the spring/tension bar.
Rotate engine by had for two full revolutions, realign ti. ING marks and check tension, this will also tell you if any valves hit and your timing is wrong and always do this with spark plugs removed.
Finally I'd always have the crankshaft bolt installed at all times, can refit pully and cover when confident on timing and tension, this tensioner should be tourqed to 45nm but some models may vary so always look up specs, I always add a very small amount of blue thread lock as well but that's my personal preference and you don't have to do this
Not commenting to complain about the work just some useful tips to help out in the future
