There are so many brilliant young composers for brass band these days of which Steven Ponsford is amongst the most outstanding, Initially, it may seem incongruous that music of this style should be related to the cross, The truth is however that what appeared to be a catastrophic defeat was and remains the greatest victory in time or eternity. Rejoicing intertwined with lament is therefore entirely appropriate, Brilliantly conceived and equally brilliantly played, Thanks be the God!
