Dad was at a slavery prevention event and met the founder of Tony’s chocolate, got a bunch of free bars as well :)
1:45 had me dead, probably first time you've made me laugh
I remember seeing these in schipol Airport last year
Why is the brand called chocolonely? Is there significance to the "lonely" suffix?
I've always ignored it because I don't like the design of the wrapper. Or the name Tony's - the only Tonys I know are rather odd old men with smelly fingers. Or the Chocolonely thing - why would I want to be reminded that I'm eating too much chocolate because I'm sad and lonely? That's weird Tony. You're weird Tony. But I did try it and damn if it isn't my new favourite chocolate. I used to love Yorkies back in the 80s/90s - but as with most popular chocolate bars the manufacturers started replacing the cocoa butter with palm oil and other crap, upped the sugar and just generally mucked about with it to keep it cheap until it tasted nothing like Yorkie. THIS tastes exactly like Yorkie used to taste when it was good. That's good Tony. You're good Tony.
I`m late to this review ,after seeing them in our local Sainsburys i sent some to my uncle (Tony of course:) for a treat. So pleased to hear how good they are ,as In Canada ,where he lives ,their chocolate is quite bitter ,so anything from home is a bonus!Sainsburys only has 4/5 flavours of Tony`s atm ,be interesting to see what the others are you received.
Never heard of it until three days ago. Saw it at the grocery store. I felt it was great tasting. I’d buy again.
Disappointed he didn't bite the whole fuggin' bar like he normally does.
That would have been a struggle judging from the size of the bar.
I forget exactly which flavour it was (popcorn possibly) but I bought a bar at Amsterdam Airport last August and it was really good
Are they cheaper in the Netherlands?
I haven't made a suggestion before but was wondering if you could review the Texas BBQ Crispy Chicken from Burger King.
My Gosh. It's Incredible.
The temptation is too great! I need to eat Tony’s!!! Glad people are making video like this one! The truth about the chocolate industry needs to get out there!
PS: Tony’s chocolonelyは最高です。
I just spent £27 on a load of different Tony's Chocolonley bars on Amazon. I think this was a good idea?
Almost certainly, but I'd probably want at least 5 for that price, as long as you got around that amount, you're golden. Their bars are an absolute treat.
Ocado now sell eight flavours.
3:13 looks like a crunch bar
Ocado do them
I've only just noticed them! Ocado sent me a free bar, without which I wouldn't have known about it.
I really like their cause. Also, I am addicted to the milk chocolate.
I just bought one
Tesco by mine has them !
MJ, you should hit up a Wholefoods and do a food VLOG. Personally, I love the place. My friends often rib me for being posh due to this but heigh ho.
had this when I was in netherlands last year. was ok but I still think galaxy and marabou are my favourite milk chocolate.
My new favourite chocolate.
My favourite Chocolate bar BY FAR
I saw that shit in the corner shop looking like a wonka bar. 3.30 but might buy
good job 🎉 from joe on anna account

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. 👍
Happy about slaves eh
I had the Dark Chocolate which was a horrible taste. Then I had the Milk Chocolate just now and it actually has no chocolate flavor. Tastes like creamy sugar. $5.00 a bar. Far from an incredible chocolate taste. Good about the slave thing but hey, improve the flavor
Second to comment
Ridiculously overpriced...
...and tastes like a plain *Yorkie* to me!
Good quality Yorkie admittedly, but why would I pay several times the price?
I only tried the red packet Milk chocolate from Sainsbury's, hopefully their other flavours add something.
@jay absolutely not! I was sceptical at first too. My tastebuds are kinda sensitive but the moment I had Tonys in my mouth I could actually taste the difference between Tonys and other chocolates. I have tried lots of different chocolates and the one I considered the best, was still not quite as good as Tonys. Yories are great but they are far from Tonys
@jay haha no, I just really like the chocolate. But ye, the taste is different for everyone but probably a lot of people think it tastes the same as a yorkie. I however noticed a huge difference, but youve got me question myself so I will buy a yorkie to compare with again.
@jay I would also argue that many people with maybe more food experience might disagree with me and the argument might be that they actually can distinguish the flavours and then that summary of the flavours and their combination is then considered to be a delicacy, even though many people may totally dislike it. So theres a lot of factors to consider here. Its not that Tonys is THE BEST, but its the most tastiest for my tastebuds :) probably its psychological too because I like the idea of it being slave free, which is nice that you dont need to donate money to a company but you can just buy a chocolate bar for a little more money to be sure that the earnings are favourable for all parts of the system. This is called systems thinking. This is not green peace who protest but actually they created a project involved in the economy while setting a new, more complex-valued solution to inequality in the food industry. But this ofc has not so much to do with taste as it has to do with the progression of the human species but nevertheless, its probably picked up subconsciously and then it adds to the flavour of the chocolate. So yeah, there are many factors at play here. One can argue that there is no final truth only that what is convinient to buy have to be determined by yourself counting in budget, socioeconomic values, biological factors and all elese you might be able to consider which itself will be based on your current operating valuesystem along with the life-conditions in your surroundings.
They look tacky n cheap
initially, but i like the design after i discovered its true meaning, and the design philosophy looks like it took inspiration from charlie and the chocolate factory which is a bonus. the chocolate itself is very high quality though, better than any mainstream cadbury's/galaxy milk chocolate you would typically come across on supermarket shelves :)
Who on earth wants to spend £3.70 on a bar that seems pretty much the same size as the large Dairy Milk Bars which are always on offer for 1.50?????
Are Cadburys using slaves to keep their price down?
Tony's must have offered UK supermarkets a tasty slice of the takings for them to hand over that much shelf space.
The whole slave thing is clearly a gimmick to justify the ridiculous price.
I've yet to see anyone at the checkouts with a Tony's bar in their shopping basket.
I was not impressed with the reviewer pretending not to know how to pronounce it. It's clearly Choco-lonely. Thats Choco, followed by the word Lonely. Surely you would have done some prep work so that u actually knew the name of the product u were going to be tasting. You even misspelled the name in the video title.
Very poor.
I predict very slow sales for Tony's Chocolate in the UK.
Thankyou for reading.
It's probably because of hús stupid lisp. He got the lisp from swallowing too much D.
I feel like they've gone for the Wonka bar look, I like it.
me too!
