  • In this video, you will see how the optical properties (Using single-photon and two-photon excitation) of Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) can be characterized. Also, you will become familiar with CQDs application for deep-tissue imaging, and cell imaging (you will also see how the cells are cultured in details). Finally, you will see the application of CQDs as an ultrasensitive intracellular biosensor for the early detection of iron (ferric ion) disorders.

    I've been trying to understand the mechanism of quantum dots as biosensors and honestly, this is one of the most detailed and helpful videos I have come across.

    CAN CARBON QUANTUM DOTS ARE CRYSTALLINE IN NATURE?

    • @NanoAustralia
      @NanoAustralia  2 роки тому

      they can be either crystalline or amorphous in the core based on the synthesis method and or its synthesis parameters.

      I prepared CQD from Ascorbic acid...confused in SAED pattern.. But XRD is clearly crystalline... How we know the nature of CQD

      @@sincyannaoommen1328 what does the SAED patterns show? if not consistent with XRD, you might need to do Raman spectroscopy to find out the crystallinity of your sample.

      OK sir.. Thank you... It is very high fluroscent material na.. So what is the minimum excitation wavelength give while doing Raman spectroscopy? Didnt get at range 600nm

      @@sincyannaoommen1328 I would try different excitation wavelengths. It can be challenging to get Raman results.

    Could quantum dots be injected into the human body and self essemble into micro biosensors?

    • @codybourque6099

      Also in order for them to become bioavailable do they need to be encapsulated into a lipid?

    • @NanoAustralia
      @NanoAustralia  Рік тому +1

      Yah, probably by performing the desing of your system based on Aggregation Induced Emission (AEI)

    • @NanoAustralia
      @NanoAustralia  Рік тому +1

      @@codybourque6099 depends on the application (or injection method)... it can be simply surface modified before the intravenous injection or encapsulated in a lipid for efficient distribution in body.

      @@NanoAustralia thank you for your prompt response and knawledge. This is very interesting. In order for AIE to occur does there need to be an external frequency, is there a temperature dependent reaction (cold to hot or does it require an additional chemical stimulus?
