Napoli was a 2nd division team before Maradona came along and he led them to multiple Serie A titles. We have never seen a better player before or after him. I just feel privileged to be alive to see this incredible player in his prime. Best ever with no doubt at all.

When I started watching highlights of Pele, Messi and Maradona, I though Maradona was over hyped. Messi seems to be the best. However, my opinion change when I started watching the individual matches they played in. Maradona possess the strength of a centreback, the stamina of a fullback, tackling ability of a defensive mid. passing ability of a playmaker, finishing of a striker and above all dribbling ability that surpass even that of Messi. Messi and Pele are the kings of football but Maradona is a God. His stats are a poor estimate of his ability because the teams he was in were mediocre. He is a one man team. A ten foot giant on the pitch. Maradona may be a joke off the field but on it he had no peers. Had he not being so crazy, he would have long been crowned as the sole champion of the world.

Don't forget how easy it is to see matches of the next opponent and study them, position by position , when they overlap , how the pass, the pressing they do. When I started watching highlights of Pele, Messi and Maradona, I though Maradona was over hyped. Messi seems to be the best. However, my opinion change when I started watching the individual matches they played in.
Maradona possess the strength of a centreback, the stamina of a fullback, tackling ability of a defensive mid. passing ability of a playmaker, finishing of a striker and above all dribbling ability that surpass even that of Messi. Messi and Pele are the kings of football but Maradona is a God. His stats are a poor estimate of his ability because the teams he was in were mediocre. He is a one man team. A ten foot giant on the pitch. Maradona may be a joke off the field but on it he had no peers. Had he not being so crazy, he would have long been crowned as the sole champion of the world.
