Can Dart Monkeys Beat Every BTD Game

- Thanks to Hbomb, I recently learned that it's possible for Dart Monkeys to beat CHIMPS mode all on their own in BTD6. This is pretty incredible, as most of the newer monkeys failed at this challenge, while dart monkeys have been around since the very beginning. This got me thinking, if they can still hold up so well today, what are they capable of in their original landscape?

In some versions of btd4 there is an optional ‘upgrade’ that you can select in the menus similar to buildings in btd5 which makes the darts explode. With this it is possible to beat hard only using spike piles for camo bloons.
That's really cool I didn't know that, I thought those upgrades all required spending real life money to get tokens. Maybe it's different on Mobile
@@Phenomixyeah btd5 mobile is kinda like btd6 monkey knowledge, you buy a plot of land and you can buy each towers buildings and they have upgrades you can buy for monkey money
@@PhenomixThey do, only frag bombs for bomb is free. You could get NK coins with a roulette in the website, (as you may know), but it has been deactivated.
@@pwrsocket Problem is you can only have one building active at a time, and it has an "opposite" tower that it makes more expensive, like Ninjas compete with Wizards, or Helicopters with Subs or something. I can't remember it's been ages since I touched 5.
I remember being able to use only Dart Monkeys back in BTD4 with 'Splodey Darts, but I wanna say that's one of the pre-game cash perks, like how you could spend monkey money to have extra lives or extra cash

Just so you know, half cash is like 10 times easier than chimps on this challenge. It literally ends on round 80. No sweat at ALL. Also full monkey knowledge.

Duh, btd iant about JUST the dart monkey. Other monkeys should also be respected
11:09 if you want to pop the MOAB, your best bet in that case would be to spam road spikes in front of the MOAB, especially with as much money as you had laying around. each one deals 10 damage to the MOAB for $30, so you easily could have popped the MOAB layer with that and let your dart monkeys do cleanup.
Yeah you're right, once I failed with my own attempts, I should've been willing to use road items to beat the games. My goal was to only use them when they were necessary to pop leads, and I know I could've easily beaten the second game by just using the glue as well. i think you were too scared to use road spikes in btd2 and btd3. they're super useful and definitely would've helped you pop the moab, even the speedrun uses them for moabs
Oh I agree 100%, especially with the 2nd game, I could've been successful if I used the road items more. Glue in that game is super powerful. I just wanted to try and have the dart monkeys do everything on their own besides the leads if that was possible. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!

The fact that dart monkey was the first to have a game so it was the cheapest and the strongest when it had its paragon
I miss the old dart paragon. It was so op. I want to see a mod with its original stats and how it compares to today's paragons

Just so you know, you can restart Chimps from the round you failed whenever you want.
Oddly, it is the only mode in which continuing this way is completely free.
Isn't that only when you're playing in the challenge editor though?
@@Phenomix Nope it is in regular Chimps now. I have no idea why this is the case but yeah.
Edit: I think I remember them mentioning now that the reason they did it was because content creators exclusively played Chimps in the challenge editor to avoid needing to restart while doing challenges for videos.
So now regular Chimps has free restarts from last round but doing this does not give you a black border.

Dart Monkey Positioning is more important than Dart Monkey Coverage. Even when not using spike-o-naut you want to be taking full advantage of pierce.

Since you have allowed "road items" to be used, then it means that it IS possible to beat btd2 with only dart monkey - you need to use glue item, that only appears on the track, which makes it possible to win that game mode.

I feel like you would have had a better time in BTD3 if you actually used in between rounds to place and upgrade your monkeys. I noticed you kept immediately hitting start round whenever one ended even though you were in the middle of wanting to place monkeys. That might have made all the difference

Correction on the start, you CAN retry a round, even 100 in chimps. It’s just you get a red medal instead of getting your precious black border.

Yea that was a dumb mistake on my part. I should've remembered how CHIMPS starts on round 6 because (I think it's round 4) would be too difficult in most cases

This brings me back. I started on btd3 and then btd5 both on flash in a browser. Nowadays I play btd6 on mobile and steam.

Update: I don't think round 71 is possible ):
For context: it has 10 moabs
The best single target is lvl2 darts, that can only damage 2 at a time, so it is essencially 5 individual moabs, unless I want to spam spike-o-pults, that cost twice as much, so I get half as much, that won't beat BFBs.
The only way I can see to get out of the round is to somehow pop the moabs and then autoclicker pinaple spam the insides, which is very cheesy and sad (and even still hard)

How are you on the flash main menu but the paid version maps? Is this just how it looks on PC? I play BTD5 on mobile...
It must be a PC version thing, I just play on the Steam Version. I think the mobile one only shows one of the buildings at a time, right?

I remember when I was 3 I was already playing bloons td but not the first one. I was playing btd4 on ds over and over not stopping till I got everything. I havn't even unlocked everything and I'm 13 now and playing btd 6 wich has chimps wich is basicly old btd like btd4 but to round 100 and a bad and zomg also you need to advertize. this is a great channel great qualaty ect

This video was nice to watch, but one advice I'd give is better handling your mic quality. A very noticable example is 7:30 version 7:40.
Oh, and you forgot to put a chapter for BTD4 at 11:29
Thank you for pointing that out, I know the mic also caused an issue where the audio was Mono instead of Stereo, so I've actually switched to using a real mic instead of my phone for voice overs

In your honest opinion what is the hardest mode; CHIMPS or half cash?
I haven't played either mode a ton but I'd say in my opinion, half cash can be harder in general cause it forces a lot of different strategies. Although I'm not really sure lol

I played btd3 as a kid as well! But for me it was cause 4 hadn't come out yet haha.
I think I kinda remember when the 4th game came out but I was pretty young then and probably hadn't been playing the games for too long
btd2 is very easy if you use glue but some people think its also a tower, i think that glue is not a tower but some people may disagree :additional note here I'm 50/50 on on glue being a tower or not but idk.
Yea I consider it a road item instead of a tower because it's one use and in the later games, all of the road items became projectiles for towers as well. So I don't think the road items themselves can be considered Towers. But my goal was to only use the road items when they're necessary, I think I might do a followup to this where I allow myself to use road items though

Also, don't buy tripleshot in this game, it is useless.
All it does is to increase projectile lifespan and size (never really useful, spike-o-pult already has enough) and upgrade pierce from 18 to 48 (+30 pierce, or a ×2.33), so only if you really need the pierce, because it is also very expensive.

You don’t have to restart from round 1 anymore, after dying, unless they patched that out
I know there is the trick to exit out right before you die, but I'm pretty sure you only get the Red CHIMPS medal instead of the Black one
Yeah they added the retry last round button that was in challenge editor to CHIMPS, but it works like exiting mid-round and gives you the red medal if you use it.
Do it with tackshooter this time!
I'm just not sure how far it could go since it doesn't have any way to pop camo until it's 5th tier upgrade in the 6th game

what is the point of a video like this if you're just gonna say "oh well I don't want to spend too much time on this game so I guess we'll never know!"? next time please have some commitment, it's very frustrating for the viewer and just ends up making the video feel low quality.
I appreciate your feedback and I'll continue striving to improve, but if you check out the comments on this video, you're the only person who has expressed a negative opinion on this video so far. I'm not saying your criticism is unfounded but I wouldn't say the average viewer had an issue with my level of commitment, considering that the games where I failed, the challenge is literally impossible. Keep in mind that at least 5 hours went into this video and I had 50 subscribers when I made it as well.

Yk i like the btd5 (i believe it was btd5) smfc path better than btd6, the design at least. The green robed/hooded design was neat and tbh i like it more than btd6’s smfc, even the triple dart upgrade too just by the fact it has a quiver of darts
I think the 5th one definitely has some superior design choices as well. The art looks better in the 6th but that doesn't mean every design choice was perfect
