Hi! What could be wrong with the Peerles 700 5 speed When the machine is running, it doesn't go overboard and shake the gear stick What could be wrong and where can I get parts ordered in Finland?
Do you know where I can get one of these for cheap? I got a free cub cadet 1315 from a friend and it has a 12.5 that i got running and I want to build a fast mower for fun as cheap as possible. It has a peerless 920 transaxle in it but I don’t think it will hold up.
Odd question for a different application of these Transmissions: if you spin the input shaft one way the output shaft turns a certain way. If you turn the input shaft the opposite way does the output shaft likewise turn the opposite direction? Nice video, thank you very much.
@BUILDNIGHT you think there’s any way to change the output shaft direction on these? I have a blower that had a dual shaft engine and I swapped to a single shaft engine so now the transmission runs backwards. I was thinking if I flipped over the gear that contacts the pinion gear it will reverse the rest of the transmission
These were in a lot of rear engine ride on mowers like Toro. They are great transmissions for go karts. Popular in racing mowers too. I made a homemade Lathe with one years ago. Wish I had video of that project!
Is the 700-023 interchangeable for the 700-039. I want change my 4 speed walk behind to a 5 speed for higher ground speed. They are both 36 spline is that possible?
Hey Metalman, got a Peerless 3628 on BobCat walkbehind. My drive pulley has managed to migrate out of alignment throwing my belt out of its groove. I can’t tell from manual what keeps shafts from sliding in and out? No set screws. I have a collar with grease fitting that will move away from gearbox when this happens. Thanks
Is it possible the circlip has worn the groove to be bigger than it’s supposed to be? I played with it last night and it seems like a wide groove, like over 1/2”. I was expecting circlip thick wide.
Look me up on Facebook. My profile picture has 2 race mowers in it. Please pm me. Rather do it that so we can keep it between us. Looking forward to hearing from you.., thanks for the reply back
I was thinking, you should just message me on messenger and not go trough facebook. Same picture. Just ay it's metalman so I know who's sending it.. thanks man
If you were to remove the input shaft and extend the main shaft through the case would you lose reverse

pozz na ovom mjenjaču kada polazim u 4 ili 5 brzini malo mi zaškripi na startu, ali kasnije uredno sve ide, znači samo na startu, u čemu je problem
What oil do I use help
What gear oil does it use? Where do you check and add fluids? Thanks

yes, thats correct.

Anything is possible, but that will take a little work.
are there any tell tale signs on the casing that I can look out for on whether or not it has the roller bearings on the output shafts?
Daniel Auen
Good question... I’m not sure...I will have to look for some.
sorry for the delay. Most gearboxes that are 700-039 have the output shaft with bearings
Daniel Auen most 700’s that have the model 700-039 have the bearings on the output shaft
Good video, what kind of grease and lub you are using!
Great video and good idea on the reverse switch. I’m not familiar with these transmissions, what did they come in stock?

Metalman 329 right on Thanks! It’s always nice finding new things like this for projects.
How much speed can these transmissions take, I mean that do those brass bushings hold up?
The one with 4 gears... what is the model number on it?. I want to find one of those for sale.
Blair Allen
Hi...i will sell this one if you are interested. $150

J R yes, thats a straight swap for you.
@@BUILDNIGHT thank you

hi....there should be a C-CLIP that is on the shaft which prevents it from climbing out of place. Sounds like your C-CLIP might be missing.

Can you shift these while the vehicle is rolling? Or does it need to be stopped?
Phil Lowman Yes, you can shift these while in motion. Many people use them in racing lawnmowers.
MetalMan 329 you do not shift the 700’s on the fly. Not in a racing mower anyways
nice job and interesting video.
Want to sell the 700 039
