I just moved from California to Florida and it’s been a lot of work to say the least. I can’t even imagine all the things that come with moving to a different country! I’m sure you guys are so excited though. This stressful time will pass quickly and soon you’ll be in your new home and onto your next adventure! 🤗
Good luck with your move! We are a family of five from Canada who moved to NZ a couple of years ago. We also brought our husky with us. Bringing a pet was so stressful! But, of course, 100% worth it!
Hi, I moved from Dubai back to Australia and brought back electrical appliances with me, because I used them often and didn’t want to part ways or buy new ones. I brought back a Nespresso machine, NutraBullet, Apple TV and Cloud 9 hair straightener. I use an adaptor for all of these and never had an issue! Hope that helps 😊
Hi Carrie, I was thinking about Lanka this morning. Have you looked to see if they have his dog food in NZ? It might be a good idea to send over a big bag of his food, to help with changing to a new one. I did this with my dog, when we moved countries 💕
I’d be careful before doing that. NZ protects its environment and certain nuts, seeds and animal products would do harm, and therefore aren’t allowed in. I’m a kiwi but in the UK, and when I go back i even have to be careful of a stray granola bar! Maybe look at what ingredients are in his food and look at NZ brands that are similar.
Hi Carrie ! I just watched your last few videos on you moving Lanka to NZ. I didn't realise that you rescued him from Sri Lanka. What an amazing thing you did for him. I respect your kindness and perseverance in getting him over! I'm Sri Lankan - Australian living in the UK. When we moved from Aus to UK, we had our dog, Lilly, sent over to the UK from Aus. I had to buy that exact same crate for her - it's still sitting downstairs in our storage room 😂 I wish I could just give it to you lol but we are oceans apart. We held on to it mostly because we were always planning on moving back to Aus again. Good luck with Lanka's transition to NZ. I know quarantine for him might be a bit off putting but I looked into it heaps and they are treated really well and care for (I only looked into Aus - I don't doubt NZ is any different, if not better!). Good luck with the move and I'm so excited to see your adventures with Lanka in NZ- yipppee! What an amazing amazing life you have given him! 🙏
Carrie I presume by the time you arrive in NZ you will be in managed isolation. Seems like there is a bit of processes to go thru. You will need to book quarantine spaces first before arriving. There are only finite no. Of rooms and the government will not turn on more because every new facilities require additional health staff. Military personnel, police, security etc. A few not happy people as there is greater demand than supply with Xmas around the corner
When I immigrated from Australia to Canada it was a very long and difficult process. It took 14 months and cost me over $6,000. I had to prove where I lived and worked my entire life, provide a full traffic history and police report, birth certificate, provide references, full medical report including physical and blood work, complete an English exam to prove I could proficiently read write speak and understand English. Meanwhile this was all needed while I was already living in Canada for the past 3 years on a working visa. Then once I was approved I had to leave the country and re-enter through a port of entry and do a face to face interview with a border officer. Very strict and thorough process for anyone interested in moving to another country this is the typical process to move legally.
Just wait till you move overseas, my husband and I have moved to two countries and it's always an adventure getting things done abroad. You're lucky if you get one thing done, maybe that week. You have all my sympathies because it isn't easy.
Like the cooking that you did with the pasta. 🍝🍝🍝. Moving is stressful the time management you have it’s motivating me to develop time management one day when I am moving to new country or a place.
Heads up don't bring electronics, all on a different power rating. Best thing is sell it or store it. OH you talked about it lol, other thing get used to amazon and other things not being same day delivery. And if you have a brand you can not live without stock up on some just in case we don't have it here. Um only other thing is if you have not heard layers are best here can be wet and windy one minute and sun the next.
So looking forward to your arrival! I'm an older kiwi, excited and honoured that you've chosen NZ as your new home. The three of you better prepare for a lot of hugging!! 👍🏻👣💕👣🐾🐾
Have you purchased your managed isolation/ quarantine voucher for NZ yet? Spots are filling up fast for January so definitely book that ASAP if you haven’t already! (Can’t remember if you’ve mentioned it in another video or not) P.s - as someone who needs to be very organised I appreciate the fact that you’re already packing up & getting organised. I’ve seen videos where people are moving or going on a trip and they pack at the last minute and it gives me anxiety 😅
Hope you guys are doing well! You guys have inspired me to make a spontaneous move to Taiwan and I'm so excited for this new chapter! Thank you for your amazing, uplifting content. Good luck with your move and stay safe!
So excited for you guys! I have followed you for years, and I am so excited to see what this next adventure holds for you! 👏😄❤️ The Best of luck! You guys are so cool for just doing it and following your Dreams! Very inspiring😊
I'm not American but from what I hear from my American expat friends, you should look into an accountant in NZ that deals with American taxes. From what I recall, American's are double taxed (taxed by America and the country you're living in) so I highly recommend looking further into that because dealing with taxes abroad is hell! :p Also, if you guys are unsure about whether you will stay in NZ forever, I would suggest keeping your bank accounts open in America and having a family member be a co-owner to your account. That way if you were to move back from NZ you would have some money left over, plus you could also have that co-owner in America be a representative for you when/if you are transferring money over to NZ. This is only handy if you want to use the savings you have in America towards buying a house (for example) in NZ. I hope these little tidbits help :)
I love, love, love your dancing partner. I am new to your channel and so far i am really enjoying your adventure. Good luck with your move. Hope you enjoy NZ.
Is Lanka's test you're referring to the rabies titer test? Just curious because you said you know people whose pets didn't pass the first time and I'll be moving from Cambodia to Ukraine in 2021 and this made me a little nervous for my two cats. If it is, do you know if they just gave a second rabies booster and then retested? Thank you
I’m so curious to know how you have been approved as you aren’t a NZ citizen Carrie? I’m from NZ so I’m finding this all very interesting as we are only allowing NZ citizens back in
I've mentioned this in a video before but I have been approved as Alex's partner. New Zealand is allowing partners of citizens to apply for a special visa to enter. We had to go through extensive paperwork and had to supply extensive evidence of our relationship.
I'm sorry if this is not something you feel comfortable answering, but why aren't you and Alex getting married at something like a courthouse ceremony and the have a small celebration with you family before you move across the country.. ?!?
I’m loving the vibe of these vlogs. Keep up the great work babe! More stroganoff please lol
Love youuu!!
Would you guys want to elope with the carona virus?
how would you describe the vibe in this one?

Haha I loved Lanka’z face when you picked him up and danced him around. My kitten also has the “oh, here goes mom” face too.

Omg that happy dance clip! So fun and definitely a mood. So glad things are working out for you guys and Lanka. Yay for NZ! 😍
Congrats on Lanka passing his lab test. He's such an awesome dog!
I remember all the visa stress before I moved to NZ! So many appointments. Good luck. It’s all worth it 😜
🙏🏼🤙🏼
You should be able to buy all sorts of appliances here in NZ. I tend to wait for the sales from Briscoe. They have frequent sales on.

That part with u dancing with the dog is priceless.
You'll definitely need some jackets here though, depending on where you live 😉 I can't wait to hear where you settle here!
Also, you probably won't want to leave NZ.... 😁😁😁
Not sure if you answered this but are you taking all of your kitchen items (ie the non electric) over or selling and rebuying when you get there?
So excited for you guys! I have followed you for years, and I am so excited to see what this next adventure holds for you! 👏😄❤️ The Best of luck! You guys are so cool for just doing it and following your Dreams! Very inspiring😊

What kind of lab work did Lanka have to get done?

Im so happy for you guys☺ from England💗

Ugh so stressful. I’m sorry 💕
In love with your shirt! Where is it from?
Was going to comment the same! The pink is such a beautiful colour on her!
Love your floral mask...Can I ask where it’s from?
Can you share the stroganoff recipe?

@@CarrieRad I haven't seen you mention it previously. Thanks for the reply, so very interesting as we have been told otherwise from our government lol
@@rhianarbuckle230 she mentioned it in her announcement video where she talks about moving to NZ.
@@Luckiducki13 Obviously missed that one
The government said NZ citizens and exceptions, of which partners are
I just bought a house in San Diego. If you're selling some of your appliances or furniture, please let me know!
Thank you. Never knew the process of moving countries. 🙄
Long & stressful 😫
If you need somewhere to get fingerprints… Try a base. The military has the capability.
I'm sorry if this is not something you feel comfortable answering, but why aren't you and Alex getting married at something like a courthouse ceremony and the have a small celebration with you family before you move across the country.. ?!?
My mom calls me by her dog's name! haha
I do call my husband by our dog's name and viceversa hahaha
I call my husband my pet's name almost all the time. 😅
My mom REGULARLY calls me by her dog's name and vice versa. She's a good dog though, so I don't mind 😊
Hahah my mom would do that to me too! Now I get it!
I ALWAYS (unconsciously) call my boyfriend by my dogs name haha
For lucky lanka from sri lanka 🇱🇰
Sri Lanka > USA > New Zealand. :)
honest question - not hatin' - what is it you aim to offer with these videos?
I’m here for the Biden/Harris victory dance 💃🏾
Jr
