There is an x minus one version of this story too. Bith are great. But I prefer this one. One of my favorite radio sci-fi stories. Asimov was always so brilliant. Thanks so much for making it available.
Huh. Dimension X entirely missed the point of the Asimov story. The darkness wasn't the concern, it was the stars! The planet was not like Earth, situated in a spiral arm 2/3's of the way out from the galactic center. This planet was near the center. When the darkness came they didn't see just a few thousand stars like we see - they saw millions! They were not alone as they had thought. The vastness of creation was suddenly revealed to them and they were overwhelmed.

Thanks for explaining that. I couldn't grasp the premise as presented in this drama.
