I started watching Our Times by Leo Wu and Neo Hou. The acting by these 2 youngsters is terrific . The story line is also very interesting . Give it a shot Marcus.

Vincenzo builds slowly at the begining, until episode 4. As if this drama has a foreplay, LOL. Then gradually develops into a full package of black comedy, action, drama and more. Scenes considered useless now will make sense in the future. With each episode and cliffhanger Vincenzo sneaks under your skin, by the end you might not be surprised you want a Season 2. Besides the plot and twists, Vincenzo has a beautiful cinematography, memorable lines, a seriousness despite manny hilarious/ridiculous scenes. And the background music is great, matching the action of each scene. For example when the corrupt officials were summoned to meet with the Babel CEO it is Nabucco, Slaves chorus aria in the background, as an irony and criticism to those people with oiled hands. Like the screenwriter said in a Netflix interview: it's a black comedy but a drama in fact, the comedy is used as a capsule pill to envelope the bitter medicine of the serious realities and themes this show is about. And the coloured Geumga Plazza tenants represent society at a smaller scale, first afraid, divided and ignorant, afterwards awaken, empowered and a one team. It might not be everybody's cup of tea as it works with metaphors and Korean sentimentalism, but I recommend to watch it until the end and then draw the line.
Totally agree with you! During the first few epjsodes I thought Vincenzo was a nice Drama but nothing special (kinda like The devil judge, at first) but boy, was I wrong! It hit me by surprise and I grew very attached to Vincenzo's "gang", as well as Vincenzo himself and damn, now that it's over I have so much feels! I can safely say it's now one of my fav Kdrama !
@@WhyNot459 I was hooked from the begining as each character was so refreshing, nothing like the common troops or stereotypes kdrama is mostly known for. A novelty on manny aspects, best enjoyed with an open mind. Yet, as you said, even so I was not prepared to develop withdrawals when episode 20 showed that mean END on the screen, LOL. As someone who works in the legal field, for me Vincenzo worked perfectly despite some highly improbable/surreal situations (common! Inzaghi?! 😂).

I m happy that Lay Zhang is taking part in very serious physically n acting wise demanding role. He is not shying away from taking risk, experimental very different kind of roles unlike most idol actors. I’m having the same response to RFY, which is disappointing bc I’m a big fan of Ju Jung Yi. Loved her in Legend of White Snake and Ruyi Pavilion. I think given the right director her talents can be maximized. Let’s hope it gets better.
Highly recommend A River Runs Through It, but it's very slow burn, fair warning. But the acting and chemistry between the leads in it is the best I've seen this year. I've dropped Rebirth for You. The script and acting didn't hook me in at all.
@@chickwit2575 the first half of" a river runs through "was great like really great but then the other half was too draggy, loved the chemistry between the leads! But for me it's a 6,8 , the drama could have been shorter and less draggy !

Since I watched the drama as it was airing and they were throwing out 4 subbed episodes per week, I personally didn't find it draggy as I remember waiting eagerly for all the new episodes. And I love character driven stories which are often given to have a meandering plot. But that's very subjective to me, I can understand why people would find it draggy. And the resolution and conclusion of the story could've been executed better.

I didn't know Zitao before. (yeah, you could say I'm not into Kpop much or not into so much fangirling 😅) I just knew him lately upon watching his drama "The Brightest Star In The Sky". I dig his info and found out that he's a former member of a kpop idol group EXO (I only heard the group and maybe their songs but I never dig info about the group members) Anyway, I have come to watched the variety show "The Detectives Adventure" because of Yang Zi and he was one of the cast members too. In this show, I was able to observe his personality and yeah, he seems to be the kind of guy who won't take a shit from anyone. He's not pretentious. Quite refreshing for a celebrity actually.
His drama -hot blooded youth (available in iqiyi, viki) is good , give it a try . He is now in Cpop 💙 movies- edge of innocence , railroad tigers , game changer are also good give it a try ☺️

"Rebirth for You" plotline is unclear at this point (ep12) but chemistry between two leads is charming, even hilarious. Plus factor: awesome wuxia choreography! "A River Runs Through It" is moving and poignant. The young cast is brilliant. Worth watching. Hooray for Nirvana 3!
Good day Marcus! I hope you are doing okay! Wow, to be honest that I never expected to hear that an actor/singer could snap on a live event and get away with it! I am glad things did not turn sour. Regarding crime crackdown you have mentioned it quite a bit so I think that this is going to be my next drama! I have not watched it as I was not aware that it was on Netflix but now I saw the title yesterday and I was very happy! However, I feel like after finishing the worldwide phenomenon of squid game I need to stay on the "crime/angsty/suspense" genre a little bit longer before embarking on the journey that is Nirvana in Fire. 😀 As for Vincenzo give it a few more episodes it will get better after episode 4! 💗 Greetings and wishes for a great second half of the week all the way from Greece!

Ok Honest talk, I don’t think there is a continuation that will ever beat the first one. Nirvana in 🔥 is by far the best written drama. Classic exquisite storytelling, brilliant plot, great actors at it’s finest! NIF2 has a weak plot and wasted time on a weak villain. They should leave the classic to stay up in its glory without any other attachments and create new content. PS: One man’s meat is another man’s poison!

If you paid attention, you would have noticed that the plots between NIF1 and NIF2 were inverses. Mei Changsu and Puyang Ying are 2 unknown identities entering the capital to cause disruption. In NIF1, you get to feel the warm and brotherly love between cousins. In NIF2, you get the cold and distanced. The writers were geniuses. They took the same contents and turned it into completely different context. So you can't really call one plot weak and without calling the other.
Well, if Nirvana in Fire 3 isn’t releasing until 2024, that gives me plenty of time to watch the first two! Where is it available with English subs, anyway? I’d rather have subs than the dubbed version I’ve heard is on Viki.
We have had wild weather so far this Spring where I live in Australia. Lots of rain, hail, and a tornado last week that destroyed several homes. My parents lost part of their roof, and most of their fence.

Hello, Marcus! Thank you for your updates! The fact that there's A Nirvana in Fire 3 means that 1 and 2 have cliffhanger endings, am I right? I don't really care for those endings because I either have to wait sooo long for the sequel or there's none. Fight Breaks Sphere is one example. There's supposed to be a sequel but not with Leo Wu. Is that even happening? I'll add Who is the Murderer on my watchlist. I like this type of dramas along with wuxia and Xianxia dramas. Glad that it didn't affect Tao negatively. Nirvana in fire 1 has no cliff hanger it has an ending....and the 2nd one has some connection with the 1st one but its in different generation and with different casts and new story and it didnt end in a cliff hanger like that of fight breaks sphere
@@hello0433 Is it the same cast for the second one or different cast, same characters like in Tientsin Mystic? I didn't like Tientsin Mystic 2 because that TM 2 actor ruined that character for me. So I watched it to see the resolution of the cliffhanger and dropped it. I guess he tried to make it his own but he changed the character too much for me. Li Xian was great as Guo De You.

I’m having the same response to RFY, which is disappointing bc I’m a big fan of Ju Jung Yi. Loved her in Legend of White Snake and Ruyi Pavilion. I think given the right director her talents can be maximized. Let’s hope it gets better.
Highly recommend A River Runs Through It, but it's very slow burn, fair warning. But the acting and chemistry between the leads in it is the best I've seen this year. I've dropped Rebirth for You. The script and acting didn't hook me in at all.

Since I watched the drama as it was airing and they were throwing out 4 subbed episodes per week, I personally didn't find it draggy as I remember waiting eagerly for all the new episodes. And I love character driven stories which are often given to have a meandering plot. But that's very subjective to me, I can understand why people would find it draggy. And the resolution and conclusion of the story could've been executed better.

I didn't know Zitao before. (yeah, you could say I'm not into Kpop much or not into so much fangirling 😅) I just knew him lately upon watching his drama "The Brightest Star In The Sky". I dig his info and found out that he's a former member of a kpop idol group EXO (I only heard the group and maybe their songs but I never dig info about the group members) Anyway, I have come to watched the variety show "The Detectives Adventure" because of Yang Zi and he was one of the cast members too. In this show, I was able to observe his personality and yeah, he seems to be the kind of guy who won't take a shit from anyone. He's not pretentious. Quite refreshing for a celebrity actually.
His drama -hot blooded youth (available in iqiyi, viki) is good , give it a try . He is now in Cpop 💙 movies- edge of innocence , railroad tigers , game changer are also good give it a try ☺️

"Rebirth for You" plotline is unclear at this point (ep12) but chemistry between two leads is charming, even hilarious. Plus factor: awesome wuxia choreography! "A River Runs Through It" is moving and poignant. The young cast is brilliant. Worth watching. Hooray for Nirvana 3!

Regarding crime crackdown you have mentioned it quite a bit so I think that this is going to be my next drama! I have not watched it as I was not aware that it was on Netflix but now I saw the title yesterday and I was very happy! However, I feel like after finishing the worldwide phenomenon of squid game I need to stay on the "crime/angsty/suspense" genre a little bit longer before embarking on the journey that is Nirvana in Fire. 😀 As for Vincenzo give it a few more episodes it will get better after episode 4! 💗

Ok Honest talk, I don’t think there is a continuation that will ever beat the first one. Nirvana in 🔥 is by far the best written drama. Classic exquisite storytelling, brilliant plot, great actors at it’s finest! NIF2 has a weak plot and wasted time on a weak villain. They should leave the classic to stay up in its glory without any other attachments and create new content.

Joy of life is the best written costum drama
If you paid attention, you would have noticed that the plots between NIF1 and NIF2 were inverses. Mei Changsu and Puyang Ying are 2 unknown identities entering the capital to cause disruption. In NIF1, you get to feel the warm and brotherly love between cousins. In NIF2, you get the cold and distanced. The writers were geniuses. They took the same contents and turned it into completely different context. So you can't really call one plot weak and without calling the other.

The fact that there's A Nirvana in Fire 3 means that 1 and 2 have cliffhanger endings, am I right? I don't really care for those endings because I either have to wait sooo long for the sequel or there's none. Fight Breaks Sphere is one example. There's supposed to be a sequel but not with Leo Wu. Is that even happening?
I'll add Who is the Murderer on my watchlist. I like this type of dramas along with wuxia and Xianxia dramas.

Nirvana in fire 1 has no cliff hanger it has an ending....and the 2nd one has some connection with the 1st one but its in different generation and with different casts and new story and it didnt end in a cliff hanger like that of fight breaks sphere

So I watched it to see the resolution of the cliffhanger and dropped it. I guess he tried to make it his own but he changed the character too much for me. Li Xian was great as Guo De You.
