Thanks Craig, for the feedback on my list of tricks for my show. I’m definitely going to work on improving it! For this weeks question can you recommend what’s your favorite sound equipment to use for magic shows such as speakers, amplifiers, and microphones?
Craig - for the salt pour one can use popcorn salt, with is finer that regular salt. Cell-out: I think one of us misspoke, because I would have recommended Joker Magic's Cell-Out as one of the most underrated tricks of all time, not overrated. But anyway, I am glad you are enthusiastic about it. I did it last night for a kid's birthday party, and changed the deck into a real Oreo cookie, which the kids immediately ask to eat. One could go from there into an Overstuft routine.
Just saw that your coin bag is coming back, I am so happy! Anyway, I have been asking you questions here a few times before - this time I have a quick and silly one, but it has been nagging at me for a while: why is Cube 52 called Cube 52 when there are 54 cards in the deck? Regardless of its name, it's an amazing deck!
Hey craig, do you have a video or can you make one, about getting a gig, as far as, how to talk to or emailing clients and what questions to ask, for the type of magic they want to see, before the magician actually arrives, and how to make sure we get paid without being burned ? by the way, still waiting for your middler tricks for close up magic- video. You're still awesome.
Hey Craig Hope you are well Do you think you have taking over the magic community and have alot of say I dont mean it in a bad way at all You have done so much for people and good to have someone to look up to Thanks Stephen Roux South Africa
Hi Craig! I know the holiday season is busy for all of us, but I hope you are having a blast performing, as tiring as it can be at this time of year. Two questions for you. Firstly, I have been booked by my day job to perform walkaround magic for our office Christmas party. Its a relatively small gathering, and everyone knows each other, including me. Is there any way I can take advantage of this in my presentation or patter of tricks? Any interesting or organic ways of bringing magic into play for my poor unsuspecting co-workers who won't be suspecting a thing? (I've intentionally kept it quiet that I'm performing magic at the party). I feel like this is a great situation for some properly devious stuff, and I intend to take full advantage of it. Second question (and sneaky third), as a Doctor Who fan, which Doctor do you think would make the best magician, and which Doctor and companion set would you want to travel time and space with?
Can you show a tutorial on this force. A spectator picks a card, loses it in the deck ,the performer spreads the deck face down tells the spectator to point to a card and it’s the same one he originally picked
Just at first glance, I would guess at using a mirage deck to do this force. Fanning the cards face up will show they’re different, but face down will force a card. Then spreading them face down on the table will make them pick the force card again as if they found their own card, nor realizing what is happening. The deck does the work in this case.
I think Craig missed the most important reason for crediting, refining your own act. Yea, it's nice to be polite to the people you got ideas from, but as a performer rather than a creator, for me having a list of other things to look into and research is hugely important, it allows me to streamline and personalise what I perform. For total beginners who just perform what they buy exactly as they are shown on the download, it's not important, but once you start developing what you do and how you do it, knowing where it came from is so important.
Hi Craig, hope all is well. I have 2 questions for you today. On Rylands Social media a while back he posted an effect with 3 coloured silks and produced a champagne bottle. Do you have any idea where to pick up this effect? Do you know of any good budget self levitation for stage,
Rather specific question, but often when going to classic palm a large coin I find that my thumb makes twitchy movements that seem to give the game away. I feel like I'm rather advanced in coin magic otherwise, but this keeps being a thorn in my side. Do you have any suggestions for this? Thanks!
Hi Craig, As usual hope you’re well and thank you for magic TV Question number one I’m looking to put together a small walk around routine but I do not want any typical cars or coin tricks what Few tricks can you recommend that can fit into my pocket (not double Cross please) Question number two As per your instructions I reached out to Michael regarding my email to you and he did not reply either😢😢 I know it’s a busy time but I’m just trying to reach out❤ Again thank you for everything this channel is amazing (I was talking to a couple of Magician this week and convinced them all to start watching magic TV for the amazing content and advice) Thanks again ❤❤
I won’t say who he is but a very very well respected magician was having a convo with me at the magic circle. I am now an apprentice I told him I would rather jam in the bar and make friends than come to learn in the lecture at the moment. He then said but your an apprentice your here to learn remember this could be taken away from you in a few months. I then said I’m confident I’ll pass the exam he then snapped and said I’ve seen you in our local magic club perform and I know juts know you will fucking fail the exam trust me unless you fix your cocky arrogance don’t go round saying oh I’ll pass I’ll pass when your a cocky apprentice. (In all fairness the act I did at the local club wasn’t great and had a few mistakes) but I think the way he spoke to me was very bad. I wanted to challenge him on this but didn’t as I know he is more respected in the community than me. When some else heard out conservation they asked are you an apprentice and he told them can’t you tell ? Finally he said I’m not being harsh to you I’m just giving you the correct advice which is you need to stop being arrogant What’s your opinion on the way he spoke
When doing double Xmas Revelation from Christmas Cards, what do you do if one person thinks of a short title film like Elf and the other person thinks of a long title film like nightmare before Xmas, as they may see you only writing a small amount when they were thinking of a long film title?
How often do people catch you doing a move, such as a card control or double, and what do you do when it happens? At a recent gig a group caught me controling a card (Back in Time), and they called me out on it, that caught me off guard. They didn't know how I did the rest of it. I can try to adjust how I do it for the future, but I need to learn to adjust on the fly for those situations. I've been doing gigs forever, but never did much with cards and I'm trying to up my game.
What should you do if at the start of Chicago openor someone picks the last card. Has this ever happened to you it happened to me yesterday at a gig and I played it of by pretending it was a prediction hence it’s the wrong colour but other than that what are someone funny/more believable explanations as to why there is a random odd backed card at the bottom of the deck if this happened
hi Craig, what is your oppinion for the usage of ai art in magic props. I have seen a lot of tricks that use it in recently and have pretty mixed feelings about it. It may be a lot easier and cheaper to use ai images for your prop, but many people, especially younger ones can easily spot if an image is ai generated and make them suspicious if the gimmick is authentic.
Have you ever done the solution by Micheal Murray at a gig and when they go directly behind you so you can show them what to do, some men who have usually drunk a bit make the obvious sex joke and laugh. When this happens do you play along and laugh with making a joke or do you just ignore it. For this reason I started doing it with juts women rather than men so that the joke Dosent make sense and therefore won’t happen but what’s is the right reaction in the scenario
Hi Craig, I still haven't heard or received anything from the $500 Murphy's magic. I don't know what the best way to go about checking with this is, whether to contact Murphy's or if you can check anything? Any help would be appreciated. My questions: 1. Are there any tricks you do all year round but at Christmas you theme it, for example toys? 2. A few weeks ago, I asked about performing situations for longer tricks like Shuffleboard and you said you can do it in a restaurant because you have time with each group, but you have said about making the magic quick so they see lots of magic in a restaurant. Would you be able to clarify? Thanks as always! 😀 🪄 🎅

Popcorn salt works well, it is ground finer than table salt.

I'll 100% be comming if your heading to the netherlands
Hi Craig, two card related questions:
1. You don't seem to use pinky count, why not?
2. What's your favourite method to palm multiple cards?
Can you show a tutorial on this force. A spectator picks a card, loses it in the deck ,the performer spreads the deck face down tells the spectator to point to a card and it’s the same one he originally picked
