I wonder how these will compare to the Fischer 3 ways? Maybe No electrical disconnect is really necessary? I try to wire directly to the crossover when it’s practical. Great series!
Hi Well super glue is a good idea not gel tho! but I would rough up the metal plate first on 600 grit wet and dry on a flat surface like a piece of glass. I think the screw holes are an issue they're sticking out a bit, when you were scraping that might have caused it to fail in the first place! Also the damping felt has shifted, really need to reset it it might rub against the vocal coil, probably moved when the magnet fell off, it's only double-sided tape so you could lift it off and apply some new tape. I would have removed the back plate as well it could have the same problem and could be partially loose and would be easier when you're setting the front plate back on to align it. Also put a piece of copper tape around the inner ring of the plate opening, making sure the copper tape is not touching end-to-end half a millimeter gap is fine, and you don't want any overlap that can be cut off afterwards with a very sharp chisel working from the center out, need to do that on both tho. It does make a big difference on response of the tweeter I have found. That should be plenty of room as long as it's not well over thick tape. Maybe not it looks a bit tight on that one as long as you got half a millimeter gap all the way around afterwards
Excellent video, really interisting and informative.
fun video
Thanks ....
