Just to be clear to the non-Filipinos out there or those who don't know the culture, "Akin ka na lang" isn't exactly equivalent to "Please be mine". It's a much more passive wish that's tantamount to saying "If you're available and no one else's, it would be nice if fate arranged it so that you would be mine (and I yours)". So the raw emotions tend to be borne out of a strong desire to be with someone but knowing one shouldn't do anything about it.
Good translation. I know the Tagalog language have some pretty deep meaning thats hard to express in the English language. Thanks for the knowledge. My friend also says he has a hard time to fully translate the true meaning in English to me.

She (Klarisse) is popular here also in our country and also Morisette’s former teammate back then from Team Sarah and now a good friend of her wherein they are both part of a girl group called “The Birit Queens” that is usually aired in ASAP. Klarisse did won but only as the 2nd placer. But the one who won the title is Mitoy Yonting (from Team Lea) is also popular here. At this moment, he is currently a judge at a singing competition in a local station (ABS-CBN) “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on Its Showtime. 💖🤙🏻

She joined the 1st season of The Voice Philippines when she was 19 and was on Team Sarah (a famous pop singer there, AKA 'The Pop Princess' ). During one of the rounds when she was practicing, Sarah told her that she did not doubt the amount of talent she had, but that her emotion wasn't there (which is why I find it amazing when watching people who react to Morissette say that she conveys emotion when singing because that was her original problem, which was why she wasn't as famous at first), and Morissette agreed with her and told her about her difficulty to connect to certain songs; eventually, she was taught different ways of connecting to a song, even if she didn't have a certain experience in whatever the song was about. It shows now, years later, that even though she did not win The Voice, it was a true learning experience that helped her become a better artist, and helped her hone her craft. This song proves how much she has grown since then.
