Heard this live back in December. I was tripping out hard to those synth sounds lol then to my surprise this version is on youtube. Awesome. I was dying to hear a good quality version of this song again.
Source? I read that a track of a different name would be the bonus track on the vinyl release. Was really hoping this track would be included in any case...
@@pathologicallyfriendly yeah, it has a different name but it's the same track, it has the alternate title of "Ladies & Gentlemen, Thank You For Coming" Read about this from the RH subreddit
The scratchy noise at the beginning always makes me grin. Reminds me when I used to play vinyls and would do anything so the record wouldn't get a scratch on it. And here it is again. Ha! Otherwise it's a great song that keeps improving. Oh, yeah. Love the bass, as always!!!
That's one of the reasons why I never quite got the appeal of vinyl. You try your hardest and there's still inevitably gonna be surface noise that wasn't an intended part of the music.
So is this the bonus track on the Anima vinyl? If so, I'm glad it's finally being released, however I'm quite miffed that I have to shell out for a vinyl just to get it.
Yes, but i think this is a demo since it has been uploaded in 2015. The song is now called (Ladies & Gentlemen, Thank You for Coming). Thom has been playing it live but i can't find the new track anywhere. I'll let you know if i do.
pic for the vid changed my way of seeing things forever. ..truly visualizing 3d on a 2d canvas - is it up down in between in or out or both? how many perspectives can you see ?
i love the silky progressive take that alot of Thom's solo work has adapted since Sasha reworked erase off his first solo project, nice dynamic range & his voice is perfect in that Genre, or anywhere else for that point, i'm gonna rework this next for sure...
Only minor qualm I had is the part with Balotelli assist. I think his layoff to Aguero was the only logical option and I don't think Dzeko or Silva really warranted a mention there.
***** The words are hard to make out at some points but this is what I hear: The fork comes in the road The fork comes in the road You are on your phone You are on your phone The mist comes through the trees Beckoning you away I must be asleep I must be asleep It's like we've become restricted We've become restricted We're two feet off the ground We're two feet off the ground They're just skin and bones They're just skin and bones We're two feet off the ground And we're two feet off the ground I'll sing "come, sleep" I'll sing "come, sleep" It's like we've become restricted We become restricted We couldn't make the medley Couldn't make the medley We're just skin and bone You're just skin and bone We're waiting for the lights to change We're waiting for the lights to change
+Felis Sundae I think he says "mental leap" instead of "medley"... also, the last line may be "we're waiting for our lives to change" (it's thom though, who knows)
@@felissundae335 instead of "the fork comes in the road" it's "the fog comes in the room". Or judging by hearing the live performances, may be "the fog comes in the road". well at the point when i'm writing this there's 12 days left to this year and no solo album, so there's still some hope but it's looking pretty grim for radio ed 2017
Jürgen Nittel I think Thom made it at home on his laptop, probably after smoking some really good LA weed. He let the fashion line Rag & Bone (which he wears a lot of) use it as the music for their runway show a few years ago.
This version is miles superior to the ANIMA version. Anima has a terrible synth and annoying background vocals. Also the vocal delivery just isn't as good. This for me is the official version of this song. Also..."Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming" ... really? fucking terrible song name.
This great version always sounded weird with a quick fade out at the end while Thom is still singing unique words. It's like an 8 minute song missing the last minute. Years later the album version came out BUT another 3 minutes just disappeared. No resolve. Why choosing this for a bonus track when vinyl has not enough space?
Sounds too much like a rip off of Cluster's track "Hollywood" ... especially the first half without vocals ua-cam.com/video/L2n7ZueDbWg/v-deo.html. The real thing from 1974 is a radical marvel for its time, straight out of Germany only 30 years after the war. Meanwhile, it's 2015 and Thom Yorke already has enough originality behind him, but it feels like he has to steal credit and creativity from the past now and add cheap contemporary flavor. We are going nowhere.
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming

Radiohead made me appreciate electronic music
Radiohead made me more open minded because thom and jhonny experiment a lot and its always awesome and creative
I’m glad they did. Being open minded is a good thing.
I know Im pretty off topic but does anybody know of a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Nixon Roger i watch on flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
@Mohammed Tristen Yup, I've been watching on FlixZone for since april myself =)

This sounds like a studio recording. I'm guessing this is what we'll get on the vinyl extra?

William Monsour most likely it would be a reworked version just like he did with "twist"
and "traffic"
I wish this is what we got on the album.
Seems legit. Reddit sub post has this as a Rag and Bone track - so I guess for a fashion show?
