@@ShaenMOGaming Yeah, I played it only because Playstation were supposedly taking it off the store permanently and I wanted an easy platinum. Turns out, it was just the US store.

From what I gather Luke doesn't care too much about trophies. During the last Dark Souls stream Ellen mentioned that Luke just got his first platinum trophy with Elden Ring.
@@lordshavron I just got my first Platinum with Elden Ring too. Trophies are something I've never chased after and never seen the appeal of, especially when a ton of games hide one or two trophies behind busywork. The only trophies I've ever gotten have been achievements I accidentally got by playing the game normally. And that's the reason I got Platinum on Elden Ring. Basically all of the trophies in Elden Ring are for beating the main bosses, plus one or two others. The only thing that's 'out of the way', is the fact that you need to get all three endings in the game, meaning you need to complete three full playthroughs, but with the way the game is designed, playing it more than once is kinda expected, and subsequent playthroughs become much faster and easier in some cases.

Honestly glad for the student devs of Nubla, who hopefully got a fair amount of money and also saw a lot of people go through a decently interesting game they’d have otherwise glossed over.

This makes me feel better about the few platinums I have that were pretty easy to get. Bugsnax took just 2 runs to get the trophies and that's only because I was reluctant about transforming everyone into snax and such. My second run was also quicker since I didn't stress about catching every single bugsnax in the game that time. I'm assuming the free DLC coming at the end of the month will have more, but who knows. The other easy "platinum" is Abzû, but it doesn't really count since there isn't an actual platinum awarded for getting all the trophies. It's a nice, mostly chill game but it does take longer than 30 minutes to complete it all; not that you'd really want to rush through it. It gets less chill when you get to the bottom of the sea, but the areas with the ruins, especially near the end, are gorgeous and the Siofra River area of Elden Ring gives me the same sort of vibe because of the colors and ruins. Oh, Astro's Playroom is an easy but very fun platinum. I haven't gotten the speedrun platinum, but I have the one for the main game content.
Abzu is actually about 2 hours for a run, and its brethren Flower and Journey are all easy 100% games, sure, but they do have hidden away collectibles that can be tricky to hunt down. They take some exploring and effort to manage, its very easy to miss some of the things. Once you know where it all is or you're following a guide you can do it pretty quick for a second run, but it probably takes 8-10 or so hours the first time through if you're legit hunting yourself and needing to do multiple runs.. The SECOND time I platted Journey I did it in a single run but that still took two hours.
I got all but one of the trophies in one playthrough of Bugsnax. There only reason I didn't get them all is because I didn't want to feed Gramble in my "canonical" playthrough. Reloaded the pre end-game save to get that last trophy, but if anyone asks I only force-fed Gramble in an alternative timeline that didn't really happen...

Assuming there are new trophies with the DLC, I'll probably try to get them all on the first run of it. I'll still complete the quests for each grumpus in full because I refuse to half-ass it and get the sadder ending where not everyone survives.
This video and the "I get all achievements" type videos I see combine to make me glad I don't give a rat's ass about getting all achievements in any game over ever owned.
I was disappointed what remains of Edith finch never got a platinum. Sure the trophies where just level based. But still... A narrative based game with excellent story telling could at least have had one more trophy.

Are single-playthrough platinums remarkable enough to be able to carry a video though? I think at least a third of mine meet that criteria. Probably closer to a half if you exclude games where the idea of a "single/first playthrough" doesn't really fit (e.g. sports games, where the entire point is playing many shorter games/matches).
There was an Avatar game (the Aang one) in which you could go to a corner of the first level and airbend everyone to oblivion. After about 5 minutes you'd get all the achievements for that game, which were all based on number of enemies defeated. I remember it on the 360 and it already featured in a Oxbox list a lot of years back. Also, you can't play this game anymore because lawyers, I think.
Heh, I remember that online game set between Seasons 2 and 3 and shows Aang's adventures on the Spirit World and meeting the past four Avatars before waking up on the latter season premiere... anyone remember that?
I remember the gamestop near me refused to take the Avatar game in from trades, because so many people bought it exclusively for the achievements and they could rarely resell copies. I was friends with a worker there who showed me a stack of 30 copies of the game that were all traded in in one day. Corporate told them they couldn't refuse trades, so they only gave a penny for trade-in value. The game had only been out for 2 weeks at the time.
Even the chicken game wouldn't beTHAT terrible if they didn't go for a realistic look and controls. Just arcade controls and a pixel-art / low-poly / cel-shaded look, and it's basically reverse Frogger.
Pssst… Ellen… you can make a secondary account for all those throwaway trophies/ screen captures so that your main trophy list/ profile stays pristine 🤫
Naaah, put those trophies on every account in order to devalue platinum trophies altogether and trigger those entitled trophy "hunters" who starts foaming whenever they see the slyde plat. Because don't forget, they love crying over too easy/hard/quick/slow trophies and have no problem rubberbanding a controller for (literally) weeks, just so they do not have to play the game. They also tend to get toxic towards people who dare play a multiplayer game as it was intended, instead of standing in a circle, knocking each other out in order to rack up points.
Storm Boy is a film from the 70s too. It is as deeply traumatic as the game seems to be. If you want to see a bunch of Aussies of a particular age in tears, running down the beach shouting "Mr Percival" should do it.
LOVED the snark in this one! Some games you realize must be fun for at least some people. And then there are the games that are objectively bad. A well deserved skewering!
An easy platinum is in the PlayStation version of Undertale “Don’t you have anything better to do?” Which you earn by reaching the maximum donation for the dog shrine.
Storm Boy is an iconic Australian book -> film, I'm a little bit surprised it hasn't made its way to the UK. Definitely recommend reading/watching the earlier versions of it
Next, have a go at obscure indie games with surprising entertainment value gold and/or platinum edition. Something for the casual or new gamers as well as the seasoned veterans. Gold/Plat edition is simply indicative of whether or not there are gold or plats at the tail end of the experience. Islanders is a perfect example of a surprisingly enjoyable casual, n00b friendly Sim City-esque game with a plat for your troubles.
When I was in the 6th grade, my school had a reading challenge-the more pages you read, the cooler prizes you got. Granted, the top prize probably cost the school about $2, but hey, free stuff. Anyway, I cheesed the challenge by reading comic strip collections for Garfield and The Far Side. Why read a regular book when you can zoom through hundreds of pages of comic strips per hour? These trophies remind me of that.
Okay so, I honestly love achievement hunting. Granted I mainly do it on steam since I don't have any consoles aside from a ancient Wii, but I think you'll get my point-- Basically what (in my opinion) makes it fun to complete achievements is that you're often forced to go out of your way to re-visit levels/areas that you might've otherwise skipped, and the pure seratonin-boost you get after completing a particularly tricky or time consuming one is frankly pretty damn great. Hell-- just this past week I got weirdly motivated to complete my final achievement for "Katamari Damacy REROLL", which was to collect every single one of the ~1400 in the game and complete your collection. In the end I nearly doubled my playtime of this relatively short game (which I had originally completed in 5 hours at most and then played on and off for either fun or this specific achievement), gained a strong hatred for speedy bears and tunnels, read through a number of 10+ year old forum posts for clues of particularly tricky items I could not find a yt video for, and last but not least: repeatedly disappointed my cosmic father for accidentally hitting non-cows/bears in the Taurus/Ursa Major levels. In the end however I managed to get the achievement after a cool 18 hours of grinding and felt way too proud of myself for spending that much time rolling up anything and everything in this admittedly strange game. If this (and all the other achievements) had only taken me a couple minutes to complete or been given to me by default it wouldn't have been anywhere near as fulfilling to see that 100% completion, and frankly not given me a reason to re-visit the game no matter how much I enjoy it after I watched the end credits once or maybe twice (the Katamari credits are unironically fun to go through).
I’d be interested in seeing a list of the most satisfying or pleasurable trophies/achievements people have gotten. Which ones did people find fun, amusing, clever, or enjoy by just by playing the game? Which ones made people legitimately go back and play the game differently or try new things? I played dishonored last year (yes I’m late to the party I know) but because you had to play it so differently from one play through to the next to get the platinum trophy, it made you realize how incredibly versatile the game truly was, and how there were a variety of ways to play you may not have previously considered. Had I not gotten the platinum I would have never known. That’s excellent trophy design. Ideally, this is the purpose of trophies, to make us reconsider how we play the game and explore it in different ways. Sadly, as demonstrated by this video, things have gotten out of hand and some developers make trophy lists for the wrong reasons.
Idea for this year's Outside Xtra Xmas Challenge: Based on Ellen's comparison in this video, Luke and Ellen compete to see who can get 100 feathers in Assassin's Creed 2 the fastest.
I don't know if you can get this in under 30 minutes but Big Sister is super easy to get all achievements. It's a cutesy horror game, like being surrounded by murder muppets.
Embarrassingly, I bought Slyde because someone told me it was an easy platinum and I was very bored, only to discover that my dyspraxia makes me useless at slide puzzles. ...out of interest, what was that website with the solution again? Asking for a friend.
Dyspraxia suuucks sometimes It's not the only reason I'm bad at games but it definitely doesn't help and practice doesn't really compensate for it I'm wanting to learn some fun breath of the wild glitches but know I'm gonna be fighting my hands the whole time
I wonder who "volunteered" to get the capture and therefore trophies for this video? Was it: Luke "throws all his trophies in a lake" Westaway.😂 Or Ellen "omn nom nom nom delicious trophies, thank you" Rose.🤔
@@katcyer26 I generally comment as I'm watching the video so I hadn't seen the end yet when I posted my comment.😂 I like making predictions and observations beforehand just to see if I can correctly guess the outcome.🤔
Burly Men At Sea is great for getting trophies, and was free on PS+ a long time back. Most of the trophies are silver or gold, it has a platinum, and in order to get every trophy you just have to see every ending, with it only taking a few minutes to get each one. Not quite under half an hour, but if you remember which path you took each time it's quite easy to get each ending with no repeats.
A huge chunk of my platinums are also Telltale games. I don't really care about getting platinums, but sometimes I'll be playing a game and realise "Getting these trophies will be fun and I won't be grinding the same thing again and again!". I love the Yakuza games, but like hell am I playing Mahjong and Virtua Fighter 2/5 to complete the minigame portion of the completion list for the 100%.
When Luke had his poetry moment, I had my fingers ready to snap. So imagine my excitement and laughter when the video had the same idea. (legitimately i didn’t know they were going to do that) I’d say great minds think alike but I’m not that bright myself.
I have over 300 platinums, and I mostly use these cheap ones so I don’t delay getting milestone trophies, like when I played both versions of bouncy bullets ‘cause I wanted “Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart” to be my 250th platinum trophy.
Theme Park Simulator gives you 11 Gold trophies and a Platnium just for staying on an amusement ride screen for 5 minutes. No need to operate the ride, just click it and stay there for 5 minutes.

WHAT THE FUCK. I sit down, have a bowl to enjoy my favourite UA-cam channels weekly show... and now 3 minutes in I'm crying with Ellen over a dead pelican in a game I've never played. You're expecting a like after that little lot? Well, you'd be right to because you'll be getting one!
Didn’t know Storm Boy was a game. I know it’s a classic piece of Australian Literature that I definitely read as a kid growing up in Australia. It’s also a movie that I’ve definitely seen. The game is new to me though.
There’s a game called “snow journey” and all you have to do is press a button and the truck moves by itself and the distance just goes up so fast (the trophies is for going certain music and is just to enjoy the music) you basically can get the trophy in 2 minutes if that
Surprised that Mayo game isn't on here. Guess it makes sense considering it's so easy opening an actual jar of mayo is harder (if you have small hands like me at least)
I bought that because I had to see it for myself. (And it was 99¢.) I actually enjoyed playing it on my Vita, basically using it as a fidget button for a while, which I found quite soothing, actually. I’ve downloaded the PS4 version as well (because cross-buy), but I’ve never opened it. Haven’t really felt the need.
Me, before this video: I want a video of Ellen talking about her passion for Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. Me, after this video: The above statement, but in SPANISH!
Great video! Please also do achievements of super high gamer points (or whatever the Xbox equivalent is) and Nintendo trophies of they have anything like that
I don't know if this has been done yet, but here is a list idea - When a boss tricks you into thinking the fight is over. Here's one, Moonshine Mob from the Cuphead DLC.
Ellen talking about NEARLY drowning brings back bad memory flashbacks or some of the later Pirate themed AC games... When you're close to drowning an it don't seem like your gonna reach the nearest source of air.
I think that easy platinums are a theme with Ratalaika games, since I've bought a few of them, including Gravity Duck, the platinums appear every time even before I'm halfway through the game.
Love that UA-cam auto generated chapters for the video based on the purple title pop ups, meaning that not only is there not a chapter for Nubla, because they forgot to make the pop up, but there's also chapters for Luke and Ellen, because they had pop ups to introduce them.

shoutout to both Subnautica games, wherein you can use developer menus left in the games to easily clear the whole trophy/achievement list in just a few minutes (wouldnt recommend doing this until after youve played them a fair bit, theyre excellent)
I remember when I finally found the last feather in AC2. I missed it when I used the guide and had to back track every damn location to find it. Once I found it I just stared at it for 5 minutes before aí picked it up. I couldn’t believe it was the last one.

LOVED the snark in this one! Some games you realize must be fun for at least some people. And then there are the games that are objectively bad. A well deserved skewering!
An easy platinum is in the PlayStation version of Undertale “Don’t you have anything better to do?” Which you earn by reaching the maximum donation for the dog shrine.
me: *hears storm boy*
me: huh, reminds me of that book i read at school!
ellen: *brings up mr percival*
me: OH IT IS THAT BOOK--
Don't worry Ellen. If we see your trophy list and see these, we'll know you did it for our entertainment purposes, and not because you're cheap.
These trophies remind me of that.
damn already finding cheese IRL at that age
Okay so, I honestly love achievement hunting. Granted I mainly do it on steam since I don't have any consoles aside from a ancient Wii, but I think you'll get my point--
Basically what (in my opinion) makes it fun to complete achievements is that you're often forced to go out of your way to re-visit levels/areas that you might've otherwise skipped, and the pure seratonin-boost you get after completing a particularly tricky or time consuming one is frankly pretty damn great.
I loved Edith Fitch, and yes it was disappointing to 100% the trophies the find out there was no platinum
It really shows their skill as content creators to be able make an interesting list from some hockey games. Thanks for the video!
ikr.
Oh damn, I had Jack and Jill on mobile when I was about 15. I completed the whole game without even knowing there were trophies for it
I appreciate Ellen's sacrifice playing these, plus her spanish was really good! ♥
All these years I felt a little embarrassed that 2 of my platinums are Jak & Daxter. Feel kind of good about those now.
My only PS4 Plats are the Persona 3 & Persona 5 Dancing games, and I was embarassed enough by that. Feel kind of good about those now.
Fact: This video is approximately 59,3% of one of those Platinum Trophies.
Or about 8,9 Slyde Platinums.
Don’t know if just didn’t notice or if it’s new, but Ellen’s hair is great
I remember reading Storm Boy for school that ending still makes me tear up.
"we've taken showers longer than that" Outside Extra confirmed for freshest smelling YTers
It also makes it sound like they take showers as a collective.
That "I beg your pardon," was one of the most British things I've seen. Bravo, Luke.
"...via minigames like making a bird fly back and forth along a single line."
Me, looking at said minigame bird: "BIN CHICKEN!!!"
My first ever platinum was Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion which whilst fairly easy to get was a wholly enjoyable experience 😆
Mine was Bloodborne.
Same description as you. ^_^
Mine was sly Cooper band of thieves
The shade is practically dripping from this video, and I'm living for it.
Idea: Times that games made you think it was over (e.g. Donkey Kong Country)
Embarrassingly, I bought Slyde because someone told me it was an easy platinum and I was very bored, only to discover that my dyspraxia makes me useless at slide puzzles.
...out of interest, what was that website with the solution again? Asking for a friend.
Dyspraxia suuucks sometimes
It's not the only reason I'm bad at games but it definitely doesn't help and practice doesn't really compensate for it
I'm wanting to learn some fun breath of the wild glitches but know I'm gonna be fighting my hands the whole time
@@felixc543 stick in there!
I wonder who "volunteered" to get the capture and therefore trophies for this video?
Was it:
Luke "throws all his trophies in a lake" Westaway.😂
Or
Ellen "omn nom nom nom delicious trophies, thank you" Rose.🤔
I wonder if you've reached the end of the video yet.
XD
@@katcyer26 I generally comment as I'm watching the video so I hadn't seen the end yet when I posted my comment.😂
I like making predictions and observations beforehand just to see if I can correctly guess the outcome.🤔
I laughed out loud and almost choked on my meds at "daddy-o". Great list, great script!
ahh yes 7 platinum trophies i will never have on my account
The video was great as always, but Luke saying "likes and subscribes will paper over those cracks real good" broke me.
When Luke had his poetry moment, I had my fingers ready to snap. So imagine my excitement and laughter when the video had the same idea. (legitimately i didn’t know they were going to do that) I’d say great minds think alike but I’m not that bright myself.
The real platinum trophy was the friends we made along the way
I have over 300 platinums, and I mostly use these cheap ones so I don’t delay getting milestone trophies, like when I played both versions of bouncy bullets ‘cause I wanted “Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart” to be my 250th platinum trophy.
My first platinum was Job Simulator, and it was so embarrassing that I had to grind out another one for Hat in Time lol
I love Luke's outraged "I beg your pardon!" Classic OX moment.
Theme Park Simulator gives you 11 Gold trophies and a Platnium just for staying on an amusement ride screen for 5 minutes. No need to operate the ride, just click it and stay there for 5 minutes.
thats brilliant, what are they called xD
@@PhantomDR An example is "Ferris Wheel. Enjoy Ferris Wheel for more then 5 minutes." The Platnium is "100% Platnium."
@@TheBronyBraeburn 🤣 brilliant
I'm an Xbox player but one of the most embarrassingly easy 100%'s on my list is Woodle Tree Adventure which as far as I can tell is the unfinished product of a game jam.
Ash from Playstation Access need to see this
WHAT THE FUCK.
I sit down, have a bowl to enjoy my favourite UA-cam channels weekly show... and now 3 minutes in I'm crying with Ellen over a dead pelican in a game I've never played.
You're expecting a like after that little lot? Well, you'd be right to because you'll be getting one!
Storm Boy actually looks like a really good game! If I had a PlayStation, I'd grab it!
Now we just need the Xbox version of this, my controller awaits
yes i await it.
I love when Ellen genuinely giggles, :)
She laughs a lot and I adore that. :D
If it was any other channel I’d assume crying over the Pelican was a joke, but knowing how sweet natured Ellen is, it’s bound to be true.
Could we get a list of hard/rare platinum trophies that are still very possible?
I had no idea Storm Boy had a game attached to it. That's an old story with an old movie made about it.
Wait what there's a 2019 movie as well?
Literally had no idea it was rebooted. Wtf ...
Hardcore trophy hunters:
YOU JUST INSULTED MY ENTIRE RACE OF PEOPLE, but yes more platinums pls
It takes longer than 30 minutes
Me, before this video: I want a video of Ellen talking about her passion for Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning.
Me, after this video: The above statement, but in SPANISH!
Great video! Please also do achievements of super high gamer points (or whatever the Xbox equivalent is) and Nintendo trophies of they have anything like that
Nintenfo doesn't do that unless the game has achievements made as part of it which isn't the norm.
I don't know if this has been done yet, but here is a list idea - When a boss tricks you into thinking the fight is over. Here's one, Moonshine Mob from the Cuphead DLC.
The number of Assassin’s Creed II references through the years makes me want an OX shirt that says “here’s ya bloody feathers”
Ellen talking about NEARLY drowning brings back bad memory flashbacks or some of the later Pirate themed AC games... When you're close to drowning an it don't seem like your gonna reach the nearest source of air.
Got recommended you via Facebook from someone, thanks to you both I have some more!! ❤️
Hey guys, that was a fun list with all of the side jokes and bits. Thanks. :)
I think that easy platinums are a theme with Ratalaika games, since I've bought a few of them, including Gravity Duck, the platinums appear every time even before I'm halfway through the game.
Great, now I'm sad about a pelican that I didn't know existed 3 minutes ago...
Love Ellen's Astro t-shirt, subtle yet nerdy
10 hours of Luke reading bad poetry video when? I'll even watch the looped portion of this vid lol
Finally a way for me to solve a slide puzzle, thank you Slyde for your predictability
Love that UA-cam auto generated chapters for the video based on the purple title pop ups, meaning that not only is there not a chapter for Nubla, because they forgot to make the pop up, but there's also chapters for Luke and Ellen, because they had pop ups to introduce them.
I want to see PS Access do this list but due to being an actual playstation channel have to be nice and promote every game.
Nobody show this list to Ash....
You can tell Ellen had covid. Lots of free time to play some truly awful games lol 😆
Looks like 7 new Platinum Trophies coming my way~! 😎
This channel & outsidexbox makes so happy, ellen & Jane are my favorites & I have a crush with them 😊the entire cast of both channels are funny & awesome, these are facts.
Tbh, Hatsune Miku Colourful and Future tone has one of the easiest platinum trophys, I know that one of the achievements is literally to binge watch music videos lol
An honourable mention would be guns, gore cannoli as the second player, if the first player already get the platinum, all the second player has to do is just join in,play in any map and voiala! Free platinum!
Ah yes 7 (not so) fine additions to my collection!
shoutout to both Subnautica games, wherein you can use developer menus left in the games to easily clear the whole trophy/achievement list in just a few minutes
(wouldnt recommend doing this until after youve played them a fair bit, theyre excellent)
Your videos always make me happy.
Hey gravity duck seems like a really good platformer concept, I like it.
Chickens on the road to the tube of riders on the storm is amazing
I'm proud to say I have got all these platinums and I don't care
A platinum is a platinum in my book regardless of the game
2:45 just wait for next blood moon
I remember when I finally found the last feather in AC2. I missed it when I used the guide and had to back track every damn location to find it. Once I found it I just stared at it for 5 minutes before aí picked it up. I couldn’t believe it was the last one.
I've listened to Luke's "I beg your pardon" like 50 times 😂😂
