  • Stumbled across this property that was clearly owned by a hoarder. One year later I filmed yet again to see what nature had reclaimed. This video is dedicated to my dear friend Pawel that passed a few days prior to the second recording.

Great to hear from you again and thank you very much for the sentiment. I'm only 32 but have buried quite a few of my own people. Family and friends. I hung around with the wrong groups for a lot of my life and saw way too many people pass away very young. It's a pain we all know, but somehow it doesn't get easier. Thank you, I truly appreciate you.

So sorry about your friend😢 too young, I lost friends at a young age and I still miss them 30 yrs later. It’s good to talk about this. In time, you will laugh at the fun and crazy things you did together then cry again. Love your videos, keep up the great work!💕💕. Paul is my daughters age, 1994. So sad. Keeping you in my thoughts during this difficult time.

So sorry for your losses. Pawel seems to be one of the nicest guys and your daughter is the same little angel as always. I always use present tense when it comes to dear friends or family, even when they're not physically around any more, they remain in present with us in some way. Hope this thought can help you somehow. Stay strong, Grim, and take care.

I’m so sorry about your friend… 😢 so young and so painful for you and his family and other friends to lose someone before their time. I’ve lost a best friend before and it’s not only just losing someone who was important in your life… it’s the memories you created together and always wondering what life would be like if they were still here. Not having them to reach out to when you needed someone to talk to… it’s just awful to lose someone so young because you never could have imagined that this could happen.. so sorry you lost your buddy. Very old mobile home. Owners either died, or went to nursing home. Kids or family didn't want any of the old stuff. Probably no place to store so much stuff. Mobile homes don't hold up for too many years. They tend to go down fast after ten to fifteen years, if you don't constantly do repairs. Sad, but if what you leave someday isn't valuable in terms of money, then nobody including loved ones want it. Today, seems everyone keeps all their photos on a device. A shame really.

I appreciate the great reply and input. And obviously the sub! I did some digging with the fire department, city clerk and residence of the town. I also lived in a trailer many years ago, so you are very correct about the upkeep it takes to maintain them. I completely agree. I spoke with the city, fire department and local residents and found out the husband had passed away and the wife started hoarding. After that it's kind of a gray area. I'm assuming they either had no kids, or kids that didn't care about real values. Because of that was my parents, I would have those trophies on my walls in my home. Thanks for watching another one!

Grim, I’m sorry for the loss of your good friend. My heart truly goes out to you. 😢 Not to bore you, but, I’ve lived in Illinois (western suburbs) my whole life until 2013 when my Mom who lived in Florida found my sister dead. So, I moved to Florida so that I could be with my Mom and comfort her anyway I could. I’ve been living in Florida ever since. Death is inevitable and takes many years to deal with the loss. You never forget, but, know there’s a better place in Heaven for both Pawel, and your daughter. 😢

Yeah I often think of that at places like these. No matter the circumstance, it's pretty sad. Unless they won the lottery and just decided to up and go. But I did speak to quite a few people and it seems the husband passed away and the wife left at some point. No one could tell me where she actually ended up though. I really appreciate your time.

So glad I live in Britain, as farmers are not allowed to carry firearms, the only time a farmer can use his shotgun is when a dog is worrying the animals. We have right to roam in Britain, so no one is allowed to tell us off for walking in the countryside. If you don't want people walking on your land. You have to put signs up saying it private property. The big metal thing that have holes for lightbulbs is a farrowing lamp, it keeps mamma pig and her piglets warm.

Thank you for solving the mystery of that lighting fixture! It's been bothering me for over a year now. I carry a firearm just in case, and absolutely every farmer is armed out here. I never go in anywhere with a bad intent, but people don't realize that so I have to be on my toes. And I do most of my explorations with basically the same exact thought of I will not enter somewhere that says no trespassing. Everything else is fair game to me as I don't disturb anything. @@kathleenrushing6897 It's illegal to carry guns in Britain. You are not allowed firearms on the streets of Britain. You can have a gun for hunting, and extermination of vermin on a farm, but you have to prove it's required, and you are licensed and visited by the police to make sure your guns are under lock and key when not in use. We don't usually have criminals running up to our houses very often, burglars wait until you have gone out, usually, and even if you are in when they break in, they won't have a gun, as they a very expensive on the black market in Britain, we are allowed to use excessive force to subdue them until the police arrive, but not maim or kill them.

The doghouse is missing. The one that was on the corner in front of the collapsed shed.
The walls inside the house, that's called paneling. It was common for middle class to poor people to use in the 70's, when they didn't have the money to repair their walls, they just covered them up. Expensive paneling was made from wood. Cheap paneling was made from plastic. The house to me doesn't look so much as a hoarders' house, as it just looks ransacked. The more houses you explore that are abandoned, the more you'll see like this.

Ugh. If you would only read through the comments you would realize everything. The city clerk, fire department and neighbors told my team everything about this place. It is completely abandoned and has been for quite a few years. It's actually in the city docket as "unoccupied since the year 2006". The neighbor cuts the lawn and is allowed to store his equipment in the shed in recompense. We've been at this for years. And the word you were trying to use was "Illegally". Before you comment, maybe do a little research.

No, this property is very much abandoned. I spoke with quite a few neighborhood residents and even the city clerk and fire dept. The property owner of next door cuts the grass and has since the family vacated (quite a bit ago), and in return stores his farm equipment in the large shack. The city allows it so there is no ordinance complaints, and the farmer has a place for his equipment. They do not want to use the finances needed to bulldoze the property, so what is much easier is to simply leave it be.. I have a team dedicated to editing and another in charge of getting me in contact with the right people when necessary. I've done this a long time, and know the proper procedures nobody takes. Sometimes it's impossible, but in this case it was extremely simple. The more south you go, the easier it is to speak with people. If you took the time to watch any of my other videos, you will see nothing but the utmost respect. Maybe research before you comment.

I don't condone any person with ill intent or no experience to just walk into a place. I make that very clear in a couple videos. My team finds numbers and I personally call every city and/or town historian usually before, but admittedly sometimes after a find. I also enjoy talking to the locals. And I concur, there are way too many young people just going into a place for stupid reasons, but that's not me. I would never enter someone's property just because it looked abandoned. Go through other of my videos and you will see. There is nothing but love and documentation when I find somewhere. Nothing is left behind except a footprint. I take great pride in doing these things correctly, and I have a phenomenal team that I trust greatly. I don't condone stupidity, and I hope I make that clear. It takes a certain person to do this properly.
