Hallo guys,
its me, LeDuck. after finishing the Rich Merchants Ring a few weeks ago ive decided to take a look at the compass. before starting the grind i ran all the numbers and the math behind each piece to estimate how long i would be stuck grinding for the treasure. i was commited to spend 130 hrs in hystria for the eltens piece since that was my personal avg time when i started. after improving my grind and with a bit of luck on my side, i dropped the elten piece after 8 days and 35 hrs of grinding on the 7th september 2021.
with the elten piece in my bag, i went for the vodkhan piece, dropped it the same day within 4 hrs of running the vodkhan rotation.
while i wasnt fortunate enough to drop the aakman piece within a 24hrs timeframe after the elten piece (to drop all 3 pieces within 24hrs irl time) even tho i tried my best and did 7 hrs on the same day of aakman grind, i got the piece the following day on the 8th september 2021 after 9 hrs of aakman grind.
my total time was 48 hrs of grind
135.375 hystria trashloot was aquired.
71.337 aakman trashloot was aquired.

Found this video off of reddit and was incredibly surprised to see so many butthurt comments at the time of posting. Everything posted in this video was faithful and accurate. I already completed compass by the time I found this video, but using more up to date rotations since the release of this video I calc'd ~77hrs average for Elten piece with a rotation of 34/2.5 minutes and ~6 hours for Aakman piece with a rotation of 45/3.03 minutes using Awak Musa at 297ap and 350% droprate during hot time.
Thanks for the guide LeDuck! I was grinding in the new main rotation for 150 hours (750k trash and 4 vodkhan pieces so far) I will give a try to this rotation now. In the beggining I didin't think it was a good option because the low money that you get here but now I start to get ansious fot the Elten piece.

Well i got the Vodkhan in 15 min lol so now I have no choice but to live in the desert and grind.
I found you on the bdo reddit and i wanted to say that bdo reddit got way to mad about this video because of Rng things and it seems like you did the math about this and they still didn't think your right and i just wanted to say that this is a awesome guide and don't listen to others because usually bdo doesn't know anything and heck they downvoted anything that get's posted there, So anyways thanks for the awesome guide! ❤️

yeah i noticed the same, arguing with them wasnt helping either, its just in my nature to try and convince ppl.
but outside of reddit i got plenty of positive feedback from strangers & friends that used the rotations from the video and got fast to their goal.

suprisingly, it was pretty much only this post that got quite some hate - i think thats because the compass grind is a sensitive topic for a lot of players who spent hundred or thousands of hours for that elten piece. but as time moves on, stuff gets easier in bdo. i think a lot of people dont like to hear that - me included. i also worked a lot for items that are now piss easy to get, but what can i say, if the game changes and makes stuff easier, im not gonna deny the existence of that new method. im gonna be angry, but im not gonna deny it :' )
the video is also no longer 100% up to date, we now know the droprate stats that we have from diffrent sources and the cap on it (300% / 350% / 400%) and we also got a lot stat boosts for pve such as artefacts beeing released and pve buffs for a lot of classes. a couple months after i released the video i went back to hystria to see how fast i can clear the river rotation, i was nearly 1min faster as shown in the video. i also happened to drop a 2nd elten piece after 8 hrs or so. lastly, i went back to hystria a 3rd time with castle buff to again see how fast i can be in the river rotation, i again increased the clearspeed by a bit and again dropped an elten piece... this time in 2 hrs ... (i never planned to stay long anyway).
i know i got extremly carried on all the 3 drops, but im sure if a person only looks for 1 elten piece, it should be doable within 100 hrs - if unlucky, 150-200 hrs max. that beeing said, idk if u starting ur compass grind, but if u do, good luck with the drops ^^
ps. i also never bothered finishing the 2nd and 3rd compass even tho i own a 2nd and 3rd aakman piece from grinding thornwood during the treasure event, i just never got a 2nd and 3rd vodkhan piece because nothing motivates me grinding hystria outside of limit testing my speed in the river rotation that doesnt contain any vodkhans :D

if you factor in +5 luck (should be another 10% drop rate) and the occasional night time grinding the avg could be a bit lower actually.
oh yeah true i forgot about those. what can i say, i remember to include them for the next time i might do such a video :D good call tho !
It took me 3 yrs and about 600 hrs but finally it dropped for me yesterday morning. Don't give up. Also make sure you truly optimize +loot% as much as possible to help your chances of an early drop.
'Elten' piece is the most important. That's why I recommend grind with awakening Musa. He can kill 29-30 mobs in 2 minutes 10 seconds in this rotate.
Elten > %0.0005 ( 10x harder than other piece's)
Vodkhan > %0.005
Guardian > %0.005

9:55 right 2 mob
9:58 right 1 mob + ( There are 2 more in the room on the right 9:58 near the 1 mob )
and 9:57 on the left 1 mob.

Long shot I guess.. but do you have a picture of your gear and addons? I've been tagging different characters to see whats faster at doing the rotations an I feel like going back to Lahn if it succession can do it this quick xD
u can see my gear a couple times in the video ^^ for example in 1:31 u see it^^ and ye succ lahn is quite fast if u targetkill eltens that fast :D

What average AP is decent for Lahn anyway? for fast clear speed of course.
hard to tell tbh. i noticed i take a bit longer if i misstime my rage absorb or dont do back attacks on the eltens/tukar baltens or even vodkhans. so if u got much less ap, u probably take one more skill to kill them, making the grind overall slower. how much time u actually lose by that i cant tell you. but feel free to share ur times with me, i would love to hear them :D

how much trash you get from desperate rotation?. if it's like 100mill i wonder if it's better to grind normally or do desperate. (I didnt start to grind yet but i have other pieces, just need elten.)
i cant say it with full confidence because they have buffed the spot a bit since this video came out. additionally to that, i never really grinded hystria on a money rotation so i dont know how much u can actually expect from it.
but generally u could say: if u make quite a bit more silver/hr in another spot of ur current gear (hexe, quint, gyfin, maybe even orcs, sycraia, ... ?), then i would say u are better off grinding the desperate rotation, simply for the fact to leave hystria as soon as possible again to grind the real money/hr spots suited for u.
but if hystria isnt far off money/hr wise compared to ur other to-go spots, then sure, might aswell grind a money rotation and just take that smaller chance on an elten piece for the sake of making more silver.
its on u to decide whats more worth for u^^

I think it needs some update?
Marni now has 5 elten (which is the highest drop rate) and you can do 8 rotation in 4 minutes.
Which means 40. With 13 more than this rotation.
So i would say 1 hour of elten rotation and then go Marni since it's better. + Marni gives more money (almost 300-400 mil per hour which is better with the measly 100-200 in the river rotation).
Marni has increased spawnrates? i heard from a bunch of people i know that they still grind river rotation and extend to pretty much dozends more eltens in the area (way more then shown in my video). idk if Marni or River rotation is better these days, i havent been to hystria in quite some time :| its probably on another bdo player to make a new guide that replaces this one if this one isnt up to date anymore :x
@@leduckbdo8042 Yes Marni has increased spawn rates. You are on point with Aakman and Vodkhan. Just Elten seems outdated, i think there are 37 now in the same rotation you posted. Marni is good especially for less mobile characters.
The problem with river rotation is the distance and the bridge, if you cannot fly over the river sometimes you get stuck and it's annoying.
Anyway just as an FYI for people who came here from reddit. Guide is good took time to do it, i don't want to take your work.

what's the point in saying get the vodkhan piece after the elten one? everyone ive ever herd of just goes for the elten piece and gets a few vodkhan pieces along the way
u are talking to me who somehow managed to get 3 elten pieces on the river rotation with 0 vodkhan piece drops, who then had to grind 1 vodkhan piece on the vodkhan rotation to finish the compass. now im sitting on 2 elten pieces and 2 aakman pieces (from thornwood treasure event), and PA releases another treasure item that requires 3 vodkhan pieces to be turned in (unless ofc u wanna drop it in the new region). so yea, ppl do exist that are 5 vodkhan pieces short and could use them ^^
I guess the Hystria avg is calculated with Tukar Balton and Elten having the same chance? Now that is known that Tukar balten has 0.0004% and Elten 0.0005% is the avg alot higher and should u change up the rota a bit?
huh? they dont have same rates? we have datamined stuff? sorry i left hystria content ages ago already so im definitly no longer up to date.
and hard to say tbh, i didnt really look at the mob if its an elten or a tukar balten, they look the same with diffrent names. i just look for the visuals tbh ^^ so u could count them, and see if its worth that other rotations could get close to the pure tukar balten/elten river rotation.
but im 99% sure that the river rotation is still by far the best.
@@leduckbdo8042 BDOlytics has the drop rate of every treasure piece. I am still not 100% sure if these numbers are real. One person told me these numbers where datamined and given to BDOlytics to stay anonymous. But this was just a random Person on discord so dont know if he just guessed.

My luck ebbs and flows. Rarely I am lucky in this game, but when the rng gods shined upon me I got an aakman piece in 5 minutes and a fully suped out fairy with Vs requiring 2 paid ability reform token to get the last ability. On average, meaning the rest of the time aside from that small window lasting 3 weeks, I am a 3 tries on a 70%+ chance type of player. There is an upside to all of this, I am really good at building failstacks. It goes to show there is a bit of everything for everyone in this game.
Grinded for several hours in the new 7 elten rotation (the one with 2 rooms) and no luck. So I did the 20 elten rotation at the old main rotation. Spends like 14 hour-ish there and only killing elten, ended up getting the Vodkhan piece in the first 6 hr, still no luck. Yesterday, I watch MrRapolas video of him getting the elten piece in the river rotation aka desperate rotation. Literally just this morning, someone was in the old main rotation so I decided to go grind in the river instead, 20 mins in and BOOM, it drop. I was legit surprise and confuse at the same time its like is this for real? lmao. Im glad im done with the elten, now off to get the last piece in aakman. Should be fcking easy, i hope
gratz, the hardest one is done for sure. ye aakman will be a piece of cake, just enjoy the grind in aakman tbh and dont think to much about the drop. u will only grind in this place for the aakman piece nowdays and move on afterwards, its kinda sad a place like aakman that has a really cool design is so outdated nowdays ^^ well, good luck !

Update: welp so no chill grind for me then. Literally got the last piece in just 1hr 15min of grind in aakman. The rng is real. Im kinda lucky tbh got super karried. So i basically complete my compass under 50hrs with no drop rate event. Gl to those whos going for this treasure

Hello,could u do a math for me..ive been in ur elten rota bout 23hrs,i can clear ur elten rotation in this video in 4.04 sec coz im just at 276apkutum..i only kill elten and balten only,sometime the other mobs got killed too if it sorruond balten..sometime tower event comingup,i clear elten n balten on it too,is it count too?? Plus i am not grind on arsha coz its so contested,im only can optimize drop rate on 199.5% with Vtent..oh one thing,im using awak musa
droprate is 1 out of 200.000 mobs.
if u kill 25-27 eltens/baltens in 4min, thats 375 - 405 eltens/baltens / hr with ur speed. with ~200% additional droprate that would be around 1.125 - 1.215 elten killcount / hr. again, avg droprate killcount is at 200.000 eltens. so that means with ur clearspeed thats 178 hrs (200.000 / 1.125) to 165 hrs (200.000 / 1.215).
the tower mobs should also count. but i dont consider them into the math (to much rng if they spawn or not).
@@leduckbdo8042 so if 1 reach 178hrs mark,thats mean the drop of piece reach 100 persen and if 1 reach 88 hrs mark,the drop rate of the piece reach 50percent?? I ony grind 3hr per day,cant do more coz reallife job
@@heritomo5352 no. there isnt a 100% chance of u getting it. u could get unlucky, which means u go above average. then u could go above ur 178hrs. u could get lucky aswell, in which case u would be below average, so u drop it before reaching 178hrs. just grind, u cant take any impact on the drop itself.

I got the elten bro today on sea server,68hours mark with ur river rotation with 550thousand trash loot,im using lvl 2 loot to cover my silver loss,its a waste but i have many loot scroll..thx to ur guide now im still missing the vodkhan part
i got 2 Vodkan on 34 Hours with 200% drop rate, and now i had spend 69 hours for elten on desperate elten rotation with 200% drop rate too, i hope an get it shortly

On main rota I kill 19 elten/balten in 2min 45sec ish. I'm stuck here with 29 vodkhans and 0 elten.
idk exactly how the ratio of eltens/tukar blatens vs vodkhans are on main rotation, but isnt it like "roughly" 1:1 ratio? that means per avg Elten piece u get 10 vodkhan pieces. now we all know u are an extrem case horsey :( u get cucked very hard on that elten piece if u already got 29 vodkhans man.
on river pure elten/tukar baltan rotation its roughly a 10:1 ratio in terms of eltens/tukar balten kills vs vodkhan kills. that means, its literally a 50/50 chance if u get a elten or a vodkhan compass piece. some ppl like to clear the river rotation more focues on trashloot, that way u can lowkey double ur vodkhan kills, which makes the chance go from 50/50 to 33/67% chance in favour of a vodkhan piece.
for example, we both saw wakayashi grinding the river rotation, he liked to clear the mobs more with the focus on trashloot (and silver i guess?), so he killed nearly every vodkhan on the rotation too. he ended up with 3 vodkhans and 1 elten piece after idk 100'ish hrs on the river rotation. he did it on wizard (and partly striker in the end)
i did the river rotation on the succ lahn. i hardfocus on the elten/tukar balten and only cleared other mobs if it didnt decrease my overall elten clearspeed. so in pretty much all cases i skipped vodkhan mobs. i ended up with 2 elten pieces in 30 hrs, totally unrealistic ofc and completly carried (i dont even wanna argue with that xD). i basically rolled the 50/50 chance 2 times and i got the elten piece both times (i clear like 30 eltens vs 3 vodkhans or so per rota, maybe its more maybe its less, i cant rememeber but it was 10:1 ratio).
maybe nowdays with hystria beeing better silver/hr u can justify staying on main, especially if u still manage to kill so many eltens/baltens per rota. but if u are just tired of hystria and wanna be done with the compass and enjoy other areas of the game, just go river rota man xD

@@CPJ1998 honestly, i think thats nice xD i rather be the guy with the highest vodkhan number so i can brag about that instead of "just" beeing someone in the 20+ vodkhan range, but others are more unlucky :D next one that drops is elten :D u be the guy that drops elten with 30 vodkhans :' )
Bro idk im killing like 27-28 elites on a rota in 2.4-2.3 min , my rota is basically all level 4 . Im there for like 25hrs , nothing . Im getting tilted ( also i grind on Arsha and i have something like 260% , also grinded with 300% for some hrs) . I just need this aakman part and im done but fuck me grinding 1h for 200m is paintfull
im not up to date when it comes to aakman silver/hr - but i would assume there wouldnt be much room to improve, just take the 200m/hr and get out of aakman asap by grinding the compass piece mobs.
remember, u want silver? u go grind silver/hr spots that suit ur ap - like centaur, orcs, hexe, ...
u want a treasure item? u go grind targetfarm the mobs that can drop the treasure item. and u ignore the silver u can get from it (its just a bonus)

ye slightly, and i got even more carried by getting 2 more elten pieces after returning to the elten rotation to see my clearspeed compared to previous times i was there, because if u are a skilled succ lahn u can pretty easily see that i mess up quite a lot in this video (i just started on succ lahn back in those days) - so naturally i wanted to see how fast i got, dropped a 2nd elten piece. and then later on awk striker for a 3rd (seen in my #2 fg video in the end).
if u struggle to get elten, i still highly recommend just going the river rotation from this video, it will eventually drop. even if it will take 150-200 hrs, it WILL drop :)

@@aisuhimegimi1978 skill rotation u should see in the video, its a mix of Shift+Q (when its available), RMB, LMB+RMB and F -> S+F. those are ur major dmg tools that u just rotate, u will get a feeling when its the best to use what skill at what time. for movement u just use RMB dash (once or hold for double dash), W+F for flying into a shift+space cancel for further distance or u can also use the rabam dash that i put on my hotbar (1). its really up to ur preference, this is not the perfect way of doing it but it worked for me so yeah, feel free to try stuff out urself maybe u find smth suiting better for you ^^
