I'm polish, but my father was living in Ireland for 11 years, the longest time in Letterkenny, and I since 3 years old used to arrive Letterkenny almost every holiday and some Christmass. I love Ireland, those beaches, mountains, cliffs, clear fresh air, hills with heathers, wind and rain. I felt free there. And now my dad is living in Poland and I don't have possibiliy to go to Ireland again :'(. Maybe when I will be adult. And this music describes my longing somehow.
This masterpiece, is incredibly moving & hauntingly beautiful. It also reminds me very sadly, of all the poor Irish souls, who suffered & died during the potato famine. I think of them all now & may i say, may you all rest in eternal peace. Amen
@@brianrossiter90 indeed , i'm not up on this but my dad and uncles are from connemara , i don't think his ancestors suffered from the famine thanks to the fishing but you're right , i suppose its a bit like the holodomor in the ukraine , how things can be covered up and forgotten , anyone with an organised societal job , priests teachers etc i suppose are still behind it to the present day .
Me too! It reminds me strongly, of my Irish ancestors and what they may have had to endure during the potato famine and the cruel control, that the English had over them. Interestingly, there were also Irish Landlords too, who were just as cruel as the English and also threw out their tenants. Mostly, the poor Irish tenants, who had nowhere else to go. Many don't know about the Irish Landlords, but they too, existed, right alongside their cruel English brothers.
Hello, I am very interested in purchasing this song to have it in my playlist. Any other way of getting it that is not through that other website and for 35e? It also seems that track to buy has some voice on top but I am interested in this one without voice. Thanks!
Oh. I suppose I haven't seen them because I went to a different tab first time I watched the video. I was expecting them to be in the scenery somewhere...

"The potato famine"... you mean the years that the English controlled mass genocide through starvation.

As an Irishman and a Jew this tune has so much meaning, so deep and meaningful - the treatment of both our peoples must never be forgotten. Zachor.

Lovely piece. It would be nice to be able to purchase it for private use for, say, $1.99 USD rather than having to buy it with a license for $39.
I have to say, if I ever decided to slice my own wrists, this might be the soundtrack to the occurrence.
