  • I made two clocks with the same cut file in this easy project!
    Materials (affiliate links):
    - xTool M1 - bit.ly/46vC0ut
    - Free SVG File - abutterflyhouse.ck.page/sunflowersvg
    - Circular Wood Board - I cut mine from scrap (it was a lot of work and not recommended,) but a 1/2" circular cutting board would work well: amzn.to/3PAUJxL
    - 1/4" Plywood - homedepot.sjv.io/6exrX3
    - Dark Walnut Gel Stain (for the plywood) - homedepot.sjv.io/AWPYLo
    - Epoxy Resin - www.rockler.com/mas-deep-pour...
    - Oil-Based Polyurethane - homedepot.sjv.io/21gxXG

Just saw the table saw accident. So happy to see you still have your thumb! Please come back, your videos are great!! UA-cam’s algorithm is putting your table saw video on peoples home pages right now so if there’s a time to upload a video it’d be now!!! Hope you come back, I’m subscribed and notified when you do!

lmao i came here for the same reason. "Had to check for thumb" after just having watched a 2 year old "whoops i cut off my thumb" video
It feels kinda rude to admit that but i'm happy the thumb was saved.

I just found you on UA-cam and have been binge watching all of your videos. I noticed that the last video was October of 2023. Will you be continuing to do videos? I really hope so!! I really enjoy your videos!

Holy Crap! I just watched your tablesaw video. I am extremely impressed your Mayo MD's were able to save your thumb. I absolutely did not expect you to still have it. It doesn't look like you did a follow-up video about your recovery. I assume it was pinned from the end and you had a small plastic ball sticking out of your thumb for 4-6 weeks. The nerve damage will be unpleasant for a few years but hopefully, you'll get some sensation back. Congratulations on the recovery!

I just came straight to this video after seeing your table saw accident video. Very happy to see that you still have your whole thumb, and even a thumbnail! Are you able to bend the tip of it?
Back in 2017, I had a pretty severe dislocation of one of my big toes. I couldn't have surgery to fix it for another eight months, due to some health insurance problems at the time. It turned out that the tendon responsible for bending the end of that toe was severed in the injury. By the time I had gotten around to surgery, the tendon had retracted too far back to be reattached. I spent six weeks with pins sticking out of my toe, and it hasn't dislocated again since. Not being able to bend it has altered how I walk a bit, but I've actually adapted quite well, and even re-learned everything on my skateboard as well. It's pretty amazing how we humans can adapt to such changes! Anyway, happy to see you're all healed up, and I hope you've been able to quickly adapt to any changes in how your hand works since your accident!

    Decisions decisions.... 😊
I keep going back and forth for which you should give to your mom. I say the resin one. I like that hands on it more than the other.
Both are great. Thanks again for sharing the journey!

I think they came out awesome!. Your work setup is amazing as well.
Also I think it's super cool that you are less prone to waste, I'm the same way when it comes to my "leftovers".

I wish you would buy a Snapmaker 2 so I could watch you learn it. On mine I’ve done 2 out of the 3 functions. Haven’t tried laser yet. Love the video! Looks like you are having a great ‘time!’ Yes I said it…

Hey, I don’t want to be someone being rude in your comments, and this may not even be relevant today, but I just stumbled onto your website while looking something up, then your channel here, and as someone that works with chemicals and tools all the time, I really want to warn you to take more precautions with safety.
I know I don’t have to say anything about tool safety and spatial awareness, because you’ve learned that the hard way. Girl, same. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s more the chemicals you deal with, and what seems like none or very little PPE to protect your skin and lungs. Two things you really need to survive.
I’ll go to the thing I was looking at specifically, and that’s the “resin”. Epoxy is plastic. It’s two parts because it’s a chemical reaction. You HAVE TO wear the right type of gloves and mask, and still work with it in an extremely well ventilated area or outside. Maybe consider getting the all natural stuff, because we don’t need anymore micro plastic in the world, but for sure protect yourself. My grandmother struggled with her breathing for decades because of a “fume free/skin safe” cleaning solvent. In one use while cleaning an old furniture piece, she burned out most of the cilia in her sinuses and lungs. Absolutely terrifying to see happen.
DIY influencers can be so nonchalant about using “craft” materials, but crafts utilize extremely toxic chemicals all the time, and no matter how cute the packaging, it’s the same chemicals as in the “professional” world. Those people will get you into trouble and are doing a dangerous disservice to their viewers. I just want you to be safe, that way you don’t make the same mistakes they’re certainly going to learn the hard way from as well.
Again, it may not be current at all. I think the video I saw was a few years old. Please play safe and take care. 🫶🏻 Cute projects.

There's a big cool factor in using a laser, but the time involved is scary. It's as bad as 3d printing. I'm interested in the tech, but I am still going to keep my hammer and chisels and saws, and stay in the cave.

Sometimes the cut takes awhile, but you don't have to stand there and babysit it, so it doesn't feel like it takes that long. But the old-school tools have their value too!

@@AButterflyHouse It the same thing with 3D printing once you see that it's printing you can pretty much walk away and then check every once and awhile.

PLEASE - PLEASE do this!!! Found you as many have due to your thumb incident but one thing you said on one of your videos and it alarmed me. You said you did some laser cutting/engraving and left it going over night, I assume while you were sleeping someplace else in the house. I would NEVER run a laser cuter/engrave over night or unattended. Please don't do that. Remember this is a burning device and can cause fires, search YT and you will see many cases of this happening. Please, you can pause the burn/engrave and resume when you are up and can monitor the process. How is your thumb doing?
