I enjoyed your #8 pen and ink stories. I bought my first FP in December 2022 when I accidentally found out that FPs were still a thing. Then like you, I fell down the rabbit hole and bought-bought-bought until I maxed out by splurging on a Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age. That kind of satiated me for quite a while. Now I mainly shop the discounted pens displays in brick-and-mortar pen shops. I cannot resist a bargain pen. BTW the pens you showed in this video are gorgeous. I love them all. Thanks for sharing your story.

Loved hearing about your fp journey! Like you, I love a good deal on a pen. I’ll never stop looking for pens under $100 - there are so many gems out there and you don’t have to go broke!

Great questions! I enjoyed watching your response! That feeling of overwhelm you talk about - I know it well. It doesn’t sound weird at all to be in a happy place. It sounds like you have great self-awareness. Asking myself if it’s a pen I can live without has definitely helped me pause on pen temptations … but that doesn’t stop me from looking one more time. Sigh 😅

Esterbrook makes some great pens, beautiful. I am looking forward to DC so I can try the specialty nibs. eBay is a great source for grey marked Pilot, Platinum, and Sailor pens too!

Loved your answers to the 8 pen questions! And I totally feel you on the anxiety part - if it feels like it's overwhelming or too much, it's time to sell. And it sucks when a pen that has been hyped up so much doesn't live up to our expectations. As for Teranishi Opera Rose - I got my bottle from St Louis Art Supply. Thanks for sharing!

Yayyy!!! Wet vs dry inks!! XD we write big, we like wet inks! 😂 lovely to hear you talk about how you started and every detail of where you’re at now in your fountain pen journey, Monica! Always love it when we get pens on sale. And you’re always welcome to ask questions - it’s how we learn! ❤❤😊 manifesting and praying for the Homo sapiens white blizzard to show up in your cart at half price this year!!

I have similar grail pens. I really want the Visconti Homo Sapiens, but in Dark Matter-the black colorway. I also want a Leonardo grande. But not sure of the color. Since I’m going to Italy this summer, I’m going to buy the Visconti there, if possible. Good luck on getting yours.

Fantastic! Loved hearing your story :) - I actually had a similar issue with my Estie/FWP pen with the band. It is indeed NOT supposed to spin. I had it repaired here locally, but from what I hear... there was a lot of headache for them with that one. Quality control was lacking it sounds like. But I agree with your husband, if it's not bringing you joy... sell it to fund something that will!

It seems to me that your aesthetic forms visibly from just building your collection of pens, I like the way your pens look together! Enjoyed the video 😊

I want to ask this now before I get distracted by all the pen goodness in the video (because I know it will happen. 🫠) Where is your lovely pen tray from? Having spent the last few weeks getting back into playing with my pens (ie inking them up then changing my mind about the ink and re-inking them a few days later lol), I am realizing the need for a tray to help keep me organized while inking. Right now I’m compiling all my tray options before I decide.
