The siren used to be out in the open. Picture a fire hydrant with large trumpets pointing in all eight directions. And it’s painted bright red, so I call it the red monster. About 30 years ago the entire building was remodeled, and they built that little dog house on top to protect it from the elements. It’s been working faithfully for well over 60 years, and it’s been serenading me my entire adult life. I’ll be moving away soon and I’m really going to miss it. But I know it will be there for many generations to come. Goodbye old friend!
I get to hear this siren A LOT, I literally live on the street of NTFD 10, I’ve also been on Truck 41, Engine 43, Engine 41, and Engine 3. They are all very cool.
It’s sad that they’re slowly going away, but the places I know that have them are holding on to them, even with pagers and cell phones they still have their place.

I love hearing it echo across the river into Suffield. There’s nothing quite like it.
Omg living in that area of Connecticut it always caught me off guard. Nice video btw.
I love the siren, personally. Adds some character.
Good stuff!! Keep it coming!
Thanks!

Love the siren!
Nice to hear a house siren, we still have ours but a lot of areas don't want to disturb folks and have turned them off. God Bless...

Enfield’s awesome siren. Nice video!
There’s a reason I like shopping at the Dollar General next door, lol. I’ve gotten lucky a few times with it going off.
I definitely miss our house siren
