@Duodecil i really love your work, but this one is a bit wrong. instead of doing grinding and collecting overall results, this is a case where you simply should do math and then confirm the results with a bit grinding. if you have a mob that drops [1, 2, 3] trash loot. then a 50% loot scroll will multiply each value with 1.5 and round down. So we have [1, 3, 4] which is a 33.33% increase. But if you have [2, 3] like on ork camp for example, this will go to [3, 4] which is a 40% increase (and not 33.33% as you said in the video). Other cases would be [1] will stay at [1] making the blue loot scroll useless in the trash case (still will increase other loot drop rate). Or a spot with [2, 4] would be [3, 6] which is a perfect 50% value then. so the blue loot scroll is at zero value if only [1] trash drops. and is between 33.33% and 50% depending on the count and number of trash loot. i think the advice should be. only use yellow scrolls on your best trash loot spot and only if you have more scrolls then time to grind.
That is a very good point , didnt think about that part , i personally went for the grind method cuz i wasnt sure , even if at orcs for example they all drop 2-3 trash , i didnt know if specific mobs have a higher drop rate than others to lean more towards 3 rather than 2 so i just did the grind cuz meh , might as well get some silver too . I suppose im happy i can modify the scaling in the calculator then , with this info i suppose different areas will have different efficiency. Although im curious now if some area actually has perfect 50% , if u know one let me know :o I wonder also about the 2-3 one , on average that should be 2.5 for orcs , but my result was pretty far from that , it should be 2500 trash/1000 mobs , i got 2144, 2246 , 2209 , hmmm , maybe even tho all mobs do drop either 2 or 3 trash , maybe some do tend more towards 3 OOOOR it could just be RNG on trash . Interesting stuff :o
Having more scrolls than time to grind is a great way of valuing your LS. I for one have like 200 to spare, hate grinding so I don't mind spending them to recover bargain points or using the yellow ones to get the necessary materials for the ring's crit damage item ASAP while making the highest possible amount of silver to really make it worth the hour.
IMPORTANT UPDATE : (i made 2 mistakes in the video) - 1) as Anna pointed out , turns out i missed the fact that some areas like Orc Camp that drop 2-3 trash , becoming 3-4 on blue are actually 40% scaling , so not everything is 33.3% , so play with the LS scaling number on the calculator where needed. - 2) i returned to Bloody Monastery , either i missed it or super rng carried but , small cultists dont always drop 2 trash and big fat ones + wizards always 4 trash , all monsters are either 2 or 4 trash , just like any other spot , so 1-2 base , 2-4 on yellow LS , the violent does drop 10-16 tho . Original Message : Feel free to skip the method and trash testing explanation if u want to , didnt expect this to be 28mins long xD Regardless , quite happy about the result , i wonder if ppl even needed this info , maybe its already common knowledge at this point :/ Oh well , off to the next one o/
YOu talked about not wasting irl time, but in the end we grind, to get gear, to grind the same spot a little bit faster xD so irl time does not matter whatsoever ^^
@@Duodecil Yep! I'm getting around 9.2k trash loot with blue scroll in Aakman while rolling with 220 drop rate. I also drop around 15-30 scrolls per hour so I took 20 as a low RNG average. These numbers gave me a 199.4% efficiency for yellow scroll. With this calculation and without and Tungrad / Black Shard drops, my income from trash becomes 69kk while the total income is 107.5kk. I am grinding in Red Shard Extended rotation, very good for trash loot.
@@Viridriell something is still wrong tho cuz the total income doesnt add up xD If you make 69 mil in trash , 20 scrolls would be like 40 more mil so thats 109 already or so , and then what about blackstones and BMCs , i feel like your total income from rare items should be much higher
@@Duodecil I didn't add those because I hardly drop 7-8 BMC's and each are around 1.6kk, let's say I earn 10kk more with those. And black stones aren't worth anything that can reliably affect my Aakmab income in MENA man :D
I think there's a key item left out in this analysis... Trash isn't the only thing that contributes to money / hour, especially at elvia where certain items vend for 3m, 10m, or nails equate to 100m/nail. There's is already a case to be made that, in a perfect world with infinite time, you should always use blue loot scrolls because you will average more over the extended period of time, even at 33% effectiveness. However, when you ALSO take into account that when using yellow loot scrolls, you're losing 1 hour of a 100% item drop rate buff every single time. In zones like Elvia where "rare" items vend for so much silver, I think you really need to consider looking beyond trash loot and also considering the rare drops. 50 hours of yellow LS = 100 hours of blue LS... that's 50 hours of 100% increased drop rate left on the table. That's a BIG deal over time in Elvia zones.
Depends how u look at it , I included all of those elvia vendor items in the rare items section cuz they get influenced by rare drop rate not trash , in which case trash and rare items accounted for the yellow ls is 50-70% more value over blue , depends a lot on your RNG luck . Overall yes blue is always more efficient , I just wanted to show ppl who plan to use yellow the actual value difference between them .
i mean i could do one but then again at this point its no longer needed , if u have grinding data and u put it in the calculator there is that bot right portion with tent 50% buff , and it shows u the silver u make from the 50mil 50% tent buff , same for 30 and 20% rates below it xD
hmmm good point , i suppose in that case u will have to think a little bit , if u use agris + blue LS then that's exactly 50+150 so 200% trash drop extra , 300% total with the base , so when u input your numbers u can simply divide your total trash from your session in half to get 150% , and just change the blue LS scaling to 50% instead of 33 ? , idk honestly , didnt consider agris cuz most spots in the game cannot be grinded for multiple hours with agris on xD At the end of the day agris is just 150% more trash , it doesnt affect anything else so u will just have to play with the trash numbers yourself :/
wait, but u have to exchagne 2 LS for 1 Yellow? and the rare for both scroll is the same, only the trash loot matter? So if u are grind for trash/money = Yellow/ --- grind for rare Loot ( potion/compass/map ) = blue?
So by comparing best BLS spots (Syc/SE) with the best YLS (ORCS) spot i obtained a 10-15% difference from total income in favor of bls so basically you play twice the amount of hours only to get 12,5% more income on average. Any more opinions over this ?
I think it's just the price you pay. Less time, less money over that time, but more money short-term. I already commented on the video, but I think you also need to really consider "rare" drops wherever you are grinding. Every yellow LS you use basically loses you 1 hour of 100% drop rate buffs. In areas like Elvia, that can really add up over time, since the rare drops sell for so much. An argument could be made for places like Aakman, too, where scrolls drop like candy.
yeah pretty much what i will do as well , at the end of the day its just a tradeoff between real life time and efficiency , if i get 70%ish of the second LS by using a yellow im fine with that since it means 1 less hour to grind xD
No testing needed for this. It's so simple, it's either one of two situations. Those who have too many loot scrolls and won't get close to using them all, or those who grind a lot and may get close to using up all their loot scrolls. Too many loot scrolls = yellow, not so many = blue. You don't grind high end spots for trash loot, and since both have the same drop rate chance (100%) there is no reason to use yellow other than the fact that you have way too many. A while back they changed how loot numbers dropped such as for trees, so that all places would be viable to use loot scrolls.
