This is definitely my favorite channel for money making ideas. The stuff you're providing is actually something that WORKS if you do it correctly. I've wasted so much time on other ideas from other channels. I've actually had some success with an e-book I put on Amazon over 2 years ago, so I know there's something to this. I still make around $20 per month consistently. This channel is allowing me to hone in on my craft & possibly make a much bigger profit. Time will tell!
Created my 1st book with your instructions. Submitted it to KDP. Took 5+ days to go live. It was live 4 days before I got my 1st sale this morning. So excited. I have 12+ more waiting to go live. And more in creation process. I love books. Thank you so much for all your videos.
Paul, I just love and appreciate your content so much. Thank you for your generosity. I had an idea whilst watching this one. So I think each of your hot niche videos should have three parts. 1 - finding and validating the niche. 2 - ways to make the interior. 3 - ways to create the cover. 4 - uploading to kdp including placing the back end keywords and finding the right category. That would not only be amazing but would keep us coming back everytime for the next part and ensure we subscribe so we don't miss anything! What do you think?
I think it's a good suggestion except ...you said 3 but listed 4;) and mainly.. I feel like he does actually do it in a process similar to how you mentioned..seperating hot niches into seperate videos but he does it more like hot niche/keywords in one and then interior in another.. for the most part leaving out the cover & uploading steps you mentioned and I think this is because A he has several videos that are dedicated to that specifically ie uploading to kdp, how to make a journal cover , starting kdp etc and B creating covers and uploading are more like something that we figure out in the beginning of this journey so no need to repeat telling us those steps over and over.. if someone does not know how to do those things yet they prob hold off on advanced keyword research and focus on getting those beginning parts down. BUT I think that adding some info into the keyword research on how catagories work and light suggestions for the topic niche would prob be helpful to ad in there I agree with that for sure!! If anyone wanted help with covers I'd be glad to help (for free of course) if there's anything I might be able to help with I'd be happy to try :) thanks for the good perspective. I love that we can all bounce things off of eachother etc.. I'm thinking about maybe making a discord or something that the kdp fam can chat on as well and help eachother. hi Paul Marles, Just dawned on me that Rory must be your son. Both of you are very informative. I am absolutely a NEWBIE doing almost anything online. Would be very happy to see you put on a reasonably priced detailed course starting with absolute basics from signing on, signing up, transferring, up loading etc, from the start on this scissor skills book, or even to start, a basic plain lined journal. Including every step. Does the CreateSpace with Amazon, now, have a way to do basic journals with just AMAZON PLATFORM? I want to learn what I am doing before I branch out learning several programs to get to the finish. I don't really mind not knowing about the marketing side yet. Just want 1 successful book to go thru approval with AMAZON in the quickest means possible so I can make my own BASIC SOP of instructions to follow each time. I will probably do fine with the graphic design and book cover designs. I did have a bit of Jr College Courses in these...many years ago. I am hoping to do these KDP on AMAZON. Want to start with LCB Journals and Notebooks with lines and graph paper, then Children's Activity Books like Scissor Skills, then write and publish my own Children's picture book & cookbook. This should get me started. If the Children's Picture Book is somewhat successful, I will do the narration and character voices for an audiobook! Slow build. But I think the notebooks and journals will be a wonderful start. I already have a few designed in CANVA, but not sure that is the most efficient way, considering downloads. Do you know if most of the programs and design tools would be compatible to do on a Mac iPad? Thank you, in advance for your vision and information.
Yes, I'm planning on doing a course at some point. The KDP platform only has the facilities for you to create a basic cover. Many programs work to some extent on ipad but the whole process is a lot more difficult.

It was challenging but we pulled through and made it to the first page in the first 2 days. It has gotten to the point where we appear above the sponsored products. but we aren't making many sales yet. Do you know what could be the cause of this. Your videos has helped me a lot and have given me good knowledge of better book production. Many thanks

Well there are many reasons why you might not be making sales. One reason could be your book cover meaning even though it's first on Amazon the book cover isn't infringing enough for people to click on it. If your book cover is professional and people click on it then you might not get any sales if you don't have any reviews. People buy based on social proof so get reviews. If you have reviews then I would recommend rewriting your book description to sell and also upload a video of your product so customers can visualise it better.

Too little information to give you a reason. May be a lot of competitors but not many customers. Maybe your cover. If you’ve got reviews then your getting sales.

I checked the licensing in Vecteezy and asked them what license I needed to purchase to use the files on the KDP site. I received an email from them telling me I’d have to pay $99 per image and that I couldn’t use their free images for it. I’m confused, how can anyone afford to use their images on KDP? Can you describe how you “browse” Amazon and find niches or trends? You mentioned it at the beginning of the video and it seemed different from doing keyword research, which you have described wonderfully, and in length in other videos. Many thanks from a big fan!
I click through listings of niches I’m interested in and take a note of books that I haven’t seen before that are selling well. I go down through the book categories see which books are ranking highly, see if anything interesting appears. When I click on a book I look at the sponsored listing and related books that Amazon lists.

Open the file you downloaded. I assume you’ve downloaded as a pdf? Open it and if it is your cover then there shouldn’t be any reason it doesn’t appear.

There does that seem to be that facility within the KDP dashboard except for Kindle. I would suggest emailing KDP support.

bsr calculation is always different from book to other depending on the search volume
Not sure what you mean. The calculation doesn’t depend on search numbers. BSR is a ranking dependent on sales.

You don’t need to put a copyright page in. Yes, they require an ISBN but these are provided for free by Amazon when you create your book.

I checked the licensing in Vecteezy and asked them what license I needed to purchase to use the files on the KDP site. I received an email from them telling me I’d have to pay $99 per image and that I couldn’t use their free images for it. I’m confused, how can anyone afford to use their images on KDP? I appreciate your help.
Are you sure that amount isn’t for a yearly license? I don’t see any option for purchasing individual images.
Hi Paul, Please tell me why some of the products on the first page that are good looking outside and inside have bad BSR ( in scissors skills niche ) ? Like 3 000 000? So they are on the first page, they are good but still nobody wants to buy it?
Amazon rotates books in the first page. So they’ll try out other books on the first page.

I do all my research on US Amazon and the results I show are from the US Amazon. Are you searching in the All category?
Can you describe how you “browse” Amazon and find niches or trends? You mentioned it at the beginning of the video and it seemed different from doing keyword research, which you have described wonderfully, and in length in other videos. Many thanks from a big fan!
I click through listings of niches I’m interested in and take a note of books that I haven’t seen before that are selling well. I go down through the book categories see which books are ranking highly, see if anything interesting appears. When I click on a book I look at the sponsored listing and related books that Amazon lists.
@@paulmarles As always - thanks for the great info! I get what you're saying here but not completely. I think this would make a great video on it's own, with you demonstrating and explaining,with examples, in depth, how to do this kind of research.

Hi paul, my question is not in the topic but I need your help. I designed cover for my low content book and downloaded from canva. But after I uploaded in KDP the design and the title on the cover book didnt appear when I check it in the review. I keept trying but no change. What would the problem be? Please help me. Thank you.
Open the file you downloaded. I assume you’ve downloaded as a pdf? Open it and if it is your cover then there shouldn’t be any reason it doesn’t appear.
