Delilah, I am not religious, quite frankly, I do not have a good relationship with religion. However, when I see you and your family, you are what I picture as true Christians. You are good, you are kind, you love hard. You help others, and raise your children to be good people. You do not push your beliefs onto people, you just wholeheartedly believe in what you believe in and I admire and respect that so much. I want to thank you for showing me an example of when religion can be good.

So true! And I'm not religious either but I love religious people who are just trying to be their best self and not forcing their beliefs and religions on others

Well said!!! I'm probably the furthest from religious one could be (quite stanchly Atheist - after being raised Southern Baptist), but I've always said that the Atheists I know are more kind, more loving, and more Christ-like than most Christians I know. So it is absolutely refreshing to see people like Zach and Delilah. They are kind, they are loving, and they're just living their lives without harming others. What more could you ask for in any fellow human, religious or not. ♥

Several questions were answered with “we don’t really have that issue/we don’t disagree on major things”
You are very blessed that you two naturally agree with each other so well! Even though my husband and I have the same core beliefs, our personalities are actually quite different and we have had many major disagreements. We have to work very hard to come together on certain things!

I appreciate the fact that you both recognize it's important to talk about each other's "pet peeves" and air them out whenever possible and understand that these are things we have to accept in each other and forgive regardless because it's such a small thing in the grand scheme of things. My husband and I find that the more we talk about the little things, the little frustrations, the easier it is to talk through and manage the big and important things, such as parenting and finances. Also, recognizing when one person needs time and space is critical so that you can take it upon yourself to be the "hero" that day, knowing that your partner will be your "hero" another day. It goes to show how in tune you are with your relationship. It's refreshing.

Let me tell you, thank you. I’ve never heard anyone say the “serving heart” bit that you talked about any I cannot tell you how beautiful and relieving that is! I have struggled for the past two years with cleaning up after my husband. He’s great in many aspects and has adjusted out of respect for me but sometimes here and there I still find myself picking up his slack. I had it in my head that I should be angry about it and should feel undignified (is that the right word) bc I wasn’t put on this earth to be his maid. but changing the perspective to a serving heart rlly helps me cope with those emotions. When I look at the full picture, he does a lot for me and never says no. And while he’s not the most organized person, he will never argue with anything I ask him to do if I mention it and that’s valuable too. So all that to say, thanks for putting things into persoective

Probably depends a bit by denomination but for my hubby and I we see marriage as a form of humility, learning to put someone else before our own needs, and helping each other build a relationship with God and become better people

    • @gabbygirl9600
      @gabbygirl9600 2 роки тому +5

@@cassandrabreit5029 I agree. Biblical love is always sacrificial as demonstrated through Christ first, so we should always try to put our spouse (and this goes for both the husband and wife) before ourselves! Wives should respect their husbands, and husbands should love their wives. So much rich scripture on this topic, because God created marriage to be a wonderful blessing. ❤️

Thank you for being so open about your relationship with God as the center! My honey and I believe in that too. We have our first kiddo on the way and we're preparing for so many changes and trying to remember that God is first, and then our relationship, because we know our kids will one day grow up and leave us. So important to keep that at the head of your marriage.

He is a pastor and will not marry people unless they do pre-marriage coaching with us, because it's so important to lay that foundation! And LOL our first kiss was the night before our wedding, because our pastor asked us if we had kissed yet, and we were like no, and he said well you might want to because tomorrow you'll be doing it in front of a whole bunch of people! We were both so nervous. ❤️. Now we have four adult children and four grandchildren and through all the changes, we are still each other's favorite person. ❤️

The scars really are soooo sensitive for a long time. I’ve had some scar tissue massage and body work after my csection and through my following pregnancy. My VBAC birth was also different because the scar tenses in a different sensation from the normal contractions. I felt most comfortable when my doula applied gentle pressure on my scar between pushes, but now 10 months pp with my vbac baby (2.5 years after csection), my scar is no longer numb or tender. ❤️

I have had three c-sections 16 months apart from each other. Something you can try is messaging the scare. I'm so wish I would have seen the post for questions for this q&a... If you ever get a chance in the future... I've always wanted to as you guys... other than going to church... What's the #1 thing your parents did, instilled in you, or made a part of your life that contributed to you developing your own relationship with Jesus and continue to grow in your faith as adults?

Me and my husband got married whenever I was 18 and my husband was 20 and we don’t regret it at all, we were ready. We’ve been married 6 years and have three children as well. I’m 24 now and I have three children, a five year old boy, a three year old boy, and a one year old girl. I love watching your videos!

My C-section scar remained sore for MONTHS, it was crazy, everyone always says it's numb but mine was sensitive!
You two are so sweet and I love Zach's "100%" or "98%" hahahaha

One thing I always wanted in a relationship was to be able to be together but also to be separate but together, if that makes sense. I wanted both of us to have lives outside our marriage, friends and hobby that we could each maintain alone. And for us to be able to be present physically together but doing our own thing. So neither one of us is dependent on the other for all of our social engagements or fulfillment. I love that we can do things together and we can do things apart. I don’t have to force myself to watch sports and my husband doesn’t have to pretend to be interested in what shade of white we paint the bathroom. We have friends who fill those roles for us. But at the end of the day, we cuddle in bed at night and talk about our days and de stress and unload on that other. And we are each other’s anchor when we’re having a bad day or need support.

Oh my husband and I were talking just the other day about how we miss the whole going to rent a dvd and buy snacks experience!!!
In terms of when the kids leave, we have so many plans lol, we've been together since we were 19 and it's been 10 years with baby number 5 due soon. I think because there are things we haven't done, because we wanted to have kids and establish a home while we are young, before figuring out traveling/formal study etc there's just so much to not be bored with after the kids 🤷‍♀️. Also the biggest thing I think is that we're friends, we were before and now we are even more so, we actually take purposeful nterest in each other and what their interests are, we don't foresee 'growing apart' because we've made a commitment that part of the relationship, we've been through periods of adapting to each other's new hobbies/plans/wants and we will continue to do it, together, so it works for both of us, because that's what we agreed to do.
