Hi guys A well delivered video, thouroughly enjoyed. I just wanted to say a few general things. I plan to be on the road in a very similar vehicle next year, a Toyota Camroad. It'll be me + my 12yo daughter 50/50. It's a 2-4 year plan to live on the road but could continue on longer. I've got past experience and love the freedom. And funnily enough the car I own is named "Winnie" too! When on the road I will also be running a UA-cam channel, but also running other remote businesses including writing my novels and such. I can't wait. I've only recently stumbled upon your channel, its great to see people in something that's very close to the Toyota Camroad, as there is basically nobody on UA-cam doing so in the Camroad yet. I may be the first.
We are witnessing the early stages of society collapse " right now ". Our biggest threat to ourselves is our fellow humans, marauders and the like. Difficult times are ahead that's for sure. Everything you mentioned will happen, it's just a matter of when. Unfortunatly, our kids and grandkids have seen the best of things now, the golden age is comming to a close. Food for thought, thank you for this video.
I loved this video. It really makes me think as its so true on what you are saying. I have thought about it before and people say it will never happen but it can happen at anytime. Live for today. That is why i want to be free. Our government has so much control as you only have to keep looking back every 5 years and see all the changes. Its scary. Really enjoyed this so thank you for bringing me back to reality.
Great video mate. I like your set up. I have a troop carrier with a bike rack for my Dr650 And can tow a boat being able to go anywhere at anytime is very handy. See you at the End of the Race. Human Race. I will shout you a beer
My wife & I were discussing this very scary subject just recently while in our motorhome, coming to the conclusion we'd rather be mobile than battling the insanity in densely populated areas. Thanks again Shannon, a great video, much enjoyed.
something one might add to the travel list is HF radio and get your amateur radio licence and learn as much as you can as you can work all corners of Australia Tasmania, New Zealand, and all corners of the world awesome in a griddown situation.

Prior planning is essential. Make a list of what you would need from the environment eg 1.water, fuel eg wood in good supply, good soil, short winter, a secret, difficult spot to reach are just a few things to look for. Many, if not most countries have confiscated firearms. So, knowlege is the best asset that you will have. Protecting your food, garden, home etc will also be a big problem, specially if you don't have a firearm. Just a thought or two. And yes, I could live for a long time as my Camper is fully equipped to do so. IF I could protect myself and family. Civil unrest soon becomes anarchy. Protection is vital. Give it a thought.
And that’s EXACTLY why I set up my Jayco Work & Play to operate off grid 100%! And having an older Nissan Navara without fancy electrics, I can run the 3.0 turbo diesel on fish & chip or old transformer oil if the situation arises where the grid went down & fuel stations were redundant! I would also recommend buying a hand held USB portable UV water filter light to kill 99.9% of bacteria & viruses. Buy yourself a couple of books ‘Noongar Bush Tucker’ & ‘Wild Foods’ for foraging safely. I’m a competent compound bow hunter too, so meat would never be an issue. I can run out of ammo but my arrows are reusable & not ‘loud’! There’s also plenty of good books on survival to show you how to make traps, filter water using water reeds, charcoal, etc., tying nots, preserving food, etc. They’re invaluable. Bring on Armageddon…I’m ready. I’d not only survive, I’d thrive! We could meet up somewhere & start a little Amish community of our own! 😂👍🏁 And to add…you are right on point with what’s coming. I’ve been following the worlds best economists, war experts, finance industry experts, tech guru’s, top biology professors, etc. and trust me when I say they’re all singing to the same song. It’s not if anymore…it’s when. It’s sooner than we all think and likely within the next 18 months. Prepping is no longer for the doomsday sayers, it’s a reality we all will face and if you’re not doing it now, you should! Self sufficiency will determine who survives & thrives as opposed to those that will succumb to 15 minute cities & full government control. Our parents parents knew how to grow food & thrive on no modern conveniences. We need to take a note out of their books! 🤞😁🍀
We experienced in some small way the need to be prepared during the 19/20 bushfires on the south coast of NSW. I was working for a not for profit supporting those affected and it was strange how quickly people had to adjust with no phone coverage, fuel rationing and access to other services. We started to get this moving when COVID hit and we were all ordered back home (to Canberra for me)…..crazy times.
This was a really well presented vlog. Very thought provoking. The only answer I could come up with was …. Well…. Hope. If these things do occur and some parts of the bible say they will and it is certainly looking that way atm, we simply I don’t think, prepare for them adequately. We would eventually run out of water and food especially if there was a nuclear war but, as you say it may be other lesser known catastrophes such as the destruction of our food chains. There are so many scenarios. A subject I did at uni was “ human geography” it looked at these same scenarios or at least some and called them unexpected interruptions! And maybe that’s it - we are naive to believe that we can continue to live in a way where it’s just about ourselves. Without a belief that in God I’m not sure I could live with any kind of hope for our future especially for my children and grandchildren and following generations. Who want to live in a world where you had to protect yourselves from everything and everyone…. Oh my goodness… thank you for being curious and putting your thoughts out there… 🙏🏻. All I can do is 🙏🏻
After world war 3 every one that is still alive would have learned something afterwards i hope and help people out , start a new friendly world 🙏but humans are humans that unfortunately will never happen 😢
It doesn’t take a lot to suddenly find yourself needing an emergency plan. Forget WW3, it’s more likely floods or fires or cyclones will hit your area. Or the nation experiencing power issues on a broad area and sustained period of time. Supply chain problems. Or a major internet issue of some description. Or those horrid lockdown routines again. Putting away 3 days of supplies is basically a start point. Three weeks worth could be a real blessing in a whole range of circumstances. And 3 months of supplies would make a serious difference in a sustained event.
I still use cash even when in Australia! When I pull out an Australian $100 I get looks. But it’s getting harder. Don’t need the phone but like my A/C. As for food I have about three weeks of belly before I’m dead on the floor. Living on the east coast USA I believe we are the first to get blasted anyway.
I really don't think in Australia we are well prepared at all. When u look at the education that is provided for people in other countries for example, of a nuclear fall out, we are sadly lacking public information, in what to do in this situation. I just feel sometime the, "she'll be right mate", attidude is what we rely on and very little back up plans for the certain situations. While me and my family have very sound bush skills and equipnment it is not enough. I don't know anyone that has a bunker here. I do know of others with food backup etc. But most of these are very limited.
I guess it would all depend on the enormity of what is happening. Some situations could be survived, some would be quite challenging. No doubt about that
In the USA back in the 1970's, they told us in the case of a nuclear attack. to dig a 3 foot wide hole 6 feet deep and 6 feet long, get in it and place a door on top covered with dirt. I guess they meant someone would need to stay out there and cover all the graves, Because that is what it amounted too. If the powers that be gave us warning we would have less than 30 minutes to make our peace. If they didn't, when the sky start lighting up with little suns everywhere, if you were unlucky and not where the bomb went off, you would have maybe 3 months to live. Maybe less. You will know when your teeth and hair starts falling out and you start getting open sores that bleed and never heal, ulcers of the skin. If the powers that control the nuks start firing all countries with nuks will start firing on everybody. And after the first barrage, then the bombers and submarines and any surviving bunkers will open up. No body wins. Not in the North and not in the South. It is a shame all the nuk countries are in the North, and all you in the South will pay as well. Let us hope Putin is not pushed any farther by Biden. The USA started the war in Ukraine. They push Russia into a corner and they had no choice but to invade. The US did the same during the Cuban missile crisis. Sorry
@martinj2843 Too many variables here. Your tap water may still be running. You may have dams or water tanks on your property. You may live near a river or a creek. You may have a swimming pool and be able to use that if you're desperate enough. You may harvest water through condensation from trees, dig for it, or catch rain water. You may have stored water (which can be stored for years). You may have the knowledge how to clean and purify water? You might have been lucky and filled up your RV tanks and anything else that can carry spare water (bottles, jerry cans, etc). Water is free. Food will be priceless! Food (especially fresh fruit and veg) is definitely going to be a problem, very quickly Thanks for watching and for your comment 👍
