    Great video Toy Pollloi! It would be great to see more GI Joe restorations from your channel, especially because you've figured out how to repair almost every Star Wars toy! GI Joe needs your help!! Awesome work!

      @@toypolloi Awesome! You've already covered the big topics: o-ring replacement, and the horror of broken thumbs. I wish I had your video on the latter subject (and milliput) when I was a kid! Although I wouldn't expect you to undertake the huge USS Flagg, the videos from other creators I've seen on it always involve tracking down missing parts while I wonder how you'd remake or repair those items instead. In any event I look forward to whatever you do next!

    lol someone at the factory had a rough day by the looks of it. The Z0X-699 or as the other one is marked 669-X0Z is clearly the upside down version of the same thing. Pretty fun to see those things. I assume the toy is made in a non english speaking country so clearly it is clever to use letters and numbers that work upside down as well. =)

    Hey Dave
    So much info from you.🙂
    I have seen other utubers polish or sand round edges (of rods or pin shaped items), by putting one end in the drill and then spin the other end on sand paper.
    Thank you for these tips😁

    Hey Dave I hate to bother you but I think Dr. Mindbender also snuck in and added his videos playlist twice. Because I swear I saw this not just once but right after each other. Sneaky Cobras, also promise me you will never use a Lego Technic Lego Person for your repairs they are not being made anymore and they honestly could be cool additions to your 3 and 3/4 figure collection.
    Honestly the reason you love characters like Baron Karza (forgive me if I spelled the Barons name you know I just Got into Micronauts and thanks again for the Shapeways advice, the preview of the parts do indeed show me the shape of those shoes) the interchangeable possibility thing is key to the Technic figures which are just taller Mini-Figure characters with fully posable design.
    By the way I sent you a reply on the Plokman email just wanted to tell you incase it fell into your spam folder. Take care Dave, any d the missus too be glad to be able to hunt for toys again myself but my dad is my top concern, he has a trache and this viral is super dangerous to him because of that and his battle with cancer years ago. Hope I am not a bother my friend.

    Q. With all your parts in your collections. Have you ever thought of some way to "make" them or reproduce them? Like making a mold? Just wondering because I know it isnt easy but I think with your know how you could pull something like that off.

      It's not something I'm going to cover on Toy Polloi for the moment. My fixes are intended so anyone can give them a go without spending a fortune or requiring expensive tools. Moulding cost a far bits, and requires time and experience. Cheers

    So...Why would anyone ever want to remove those thrusters on the bottom in the first place? Did Hasbro think that this was something that kids liked to do? Those original clips are obviously prone to snapping off, as they are very spindly, so I think whatever play value a kid might get from that is minimal at best. Wouldn't it just have been better for Hasbro just to make those thrusters permanently fixed to the body of the Battle Ball to begin with?? I guess they had their reasons for doing it this way, but that set-up does make for a fragile connection with the body. I have to say that I've never liked toy parts with these sort of clips because they eventually weaken and break. Perhaps it might have been problematic to cast the body with the thrusters already added? Hard to say. Regardless, your fixes are quite brilliant Dave!
    Have you ever thought of doing a fix on a part of a toy, then making a silicon mold to recast the part (with your fix) in plastic? Seems like that might make a longer lasting new piece that's stronger. I know that's a matter of extra time and expense, but it seems like that might be something to consider sometimes. Since you generally just fix things for display purposes, I do realize that that's probably not something that's necessary, but it might be nice to see you try that in a video for the folks who might want to see a more permanent solution.
    Watching your video, I've come to realize that your pin vice drill is much better than the one I currently use. I think I need to upgrade.
    As always, Legos wielded by Toy Polloi saves the day once again! Great video!

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  4 роки тому +1

      I try to keep my fixes simple to that anyone can copy them, without the need to spend huge amounts of money or need lots of equipment. Casting is tricky to do, requires buying quite expensive materials, and is not something most people would want to try. So for now I will not be showing that sort of fix. Keeping it simple is what I really want to do, so everyone feels they can have a go. Cheers

      It was a rather odd toy. I had a later version with a green canopy, but it was prone to just popping apart, I took it to bits, and used the body, upside down, with greeblies added, as part of a model of a terraforming station on a diorama, with a tiny TARDIS sitting in front of it.
