I can relate to that. I'm a white Canadian happily married to a Pinay I met at UBC during our graduate studies leading to my PhD in electrical and computer engineering while my wife's PhD in food science. After we completed our degrees years ago, we both got job offers south of the border. My wife works as a senior principal scientist for a multinational food company while I work as a director of R&D for a tech company. In terms of opportunities, the US is undoubtedly the best country to work in, especially if you have the education, skills, and experience. We still intend to retire in my hometown of Vancouver, BC.

happiness is a state of mind. to be content and thankful is all we need to learn. whether you are earning 6-figure annually or not it depends on how you spend your time, are you content? are you thankful? are you thanking God? maski maliit or malaki kung maasim ang tingin mo sa buhay ikaw ang pinaka mahirap. maraming mayayaman na namamatay ng malungkot may taong simple ang buhay na punong puno ng saya. hindi ko sinasabi na okay ang maging mahirap, dapat meron tayong pagsisikap sa buhay ang maigi lalung lumapit sa Panginoong Diyos upang malaman ang tunay na kaligayahan

Sobrang ganda po nitong comment ninyo, being an OFW abroad , in Ireland I always think, is the grass always greener on the other side? And this answer really touched my ❤️ heart , success and riches can’t be measured from material possessions but with the quality of our relationships, and the kindness of our hearts.❤

I came here December 1978 in Northern California and have worked odd jobs until I retired 3 years ago, I am enjoying my retirement here. I observed that the medical coverage here is good. My wife and I worked hard, and I worked 2 jobs, and my wife had 3 jobs. This was after we purchased our house. She retired almost 2 years ago. People in our hometown in the Philippines think we receive big money from retirement, which is not true, we're still pay bills and maintain our cars. We are not rich.

Mahirap na masarap buhay dito sa America. Ksi may trabaho ka may ipambibili ka. Kya Lang dmi bills you have to go the flow of life. Kakayod ksi Masami tukso. Mas masarap buhay sa Pinas Kung may Pera ka. Nkakamiss PA rin buhay duon Lalo na Kung matagal ka na dito. Ksi may opportunity dito Kung wala ka oprtunidad sa pinas. Pero life must go on khit saan sulok ka man sa mundo sapalaran sa buhay. Important ang practicality sa buhay at hindi pasikatan.

Pinoys get comfortable and complacent at a certain point of their careers where as the Indian continue to climb the ladder. With dense population on their part they will always be on the top of the game.

Maybe in his perspective yun, Kasi since tumongtong ako dito sa US as medtech naging comfortable tlaga ang buhay ko, and swerte lang kasi may kaya din parents at mga kapatid ko sa pinas kaya wala ko responsibilidad.. and nag gigive back nalang ako sa parents ko by sending then to their desire travel destination. in my opinion its always depend if anong klase nang buhay ang tingin nila na maganda baka gusto nila ung buhay politiko sa pinas na magkaka pera kahit walang ginagawa. Its funny lang kasi mas maayos pa buhay nang vendor hahaha. Paid mga healthcare professionals with good benefits and good retirement. Yes nag rerent tlga mga tao diyo especially if di pa sila sure if dun sa isang state na napuntahan nila is okay na sila.. hindi dito tulad sa pinas na pag tumagal tumataas value nang property, dito pwede okay ngayon the end of the year himdi masama pa if naging ghost town and it will decrease the value of the property.

I guess as human we will not happy or satisfied from what we are receiving and have infront of us,coz if only all the people in the philippines have a chance to move out now and work in other country
Sure they will do that but some are not lucky..
But on the otherhand Canada and US both countries needed some professional proof to be able to get your right position and more salary
But here in Europe esp in Sweden
I guess language is a barrier and yet you can able to find job that corresponds to the salary that i should even better than US if your not a proffesional at all..
Life is not all about money but its a neccesity for us and inable us to live in a comfort life and ease our mental anxiety…
