There are actually 12 tunnels, not all of them have static discharge rooms in but they all have the gantry cranes in for lifting the mines onto the platforms. I said in your last video, that you should have let me know and I would have given you a tour, we’ve been exploring that place since 2013, but not everything we found down there was good, have lots of footage and photos that tell one hell of a story :)

27:50 That “cupboard” you mentioned is in fact a “double blast wall protection system”. In the event of an explosion that entire structure was at risk of collapsing. The double wall, allows for a complete collapse of the inner-chamber you were in, without causing the hillside into which the bunker is built, to become unstable. The main brick chamber should have remained intact. That would also allow the Navy to remove the debris and possibly reuse/rebuild the bunker. It would have also made it MUCH easier to recover any bodies/remains caught in the blast. As without the double wall system, any recovery personnel would have also been in danger due to the high risk of the hillside collapsing in on them during the recovery efforts.

I think the trip hazard you were referring to is a boundary in the changing room where you’d change into specific anti static and spark apparel.I expect workers had to ground themselves too.

Matt essentially now you have trespasses on Dragon LNG land.Thats why they installed the green fence as Dragon bought the land because parts of the top tunnel are way under the gas plant. The white stripes on the wall are luminous and the light fittings are FLP ( flameproof ) type....there was no type of light fitting - incandescent or otherwise left to be in open atmosphere....hope this helps

Glad you went back Matt, but it still bothers me why they have security guarding those empty underground storage sheds? There must be something else hidden in there they don't want people to see?? But a great video, keep up the good work Matt.

Hi Mat i believe that the yellow pipes with the white painted back grounds and the two yellow gate like peices are what is left of fire hose stations the yellow u shaped sections that are hinged would have had fire hoses layered in zig zag on them so when you pulled at the end of hose it would be able to be taken down the tunnel to fight fires . That is way there were 2 of them in most of the locations .
As i believe that on top of each of the yellow pipes would have been some sort of valve to turn the hoses on and off.
Great explore Mat well done .

Great explore, well done Matt. Were the railway tracks rusty or bright ? It would give a good indication as to if it's as deserted as they would like you to believe. What a find though when you looked through the hole into the first tunnel ! I know you guy's who go out exploring have found many underground structures, I can't help but get the feeling though that what has been found only represents a very small part of what is waiting to be found ! I would have certainly given it a go 30 to 40 years ago, now it's far more than I could physically manage but that long ago I expect security would have been much tighter and I assume police and security would have a totally different to anyone exploring disused MOD sites.

    Yayyy.. I got the 1000th 👍
In those 1st two bunkers a new inner wall had been added as part of water ingress management. In modern day construction that would be called Cavity Drain System. The probably added the 2nd inner wall with the drainage channel at the bottom after too much excess water leaked in which may have resulted in so much excess condensation that weaponry would be compromised. The water ingress and high humidity then just remains between the two walls, the cavity, and runs away along the drainage channels to the external open concrete gulley that you noted. With some added ventilation the large space within the 2nd walls will have much reduced humidity providing a drier environment.
You noted a small wall in the little benched room. This looked like a Bunding Wall which is effectively a small dam. This was probably needed to maintain a dry area for the operator of all those electrics on the wall. Electrics and wet feet isn't good.
I wouldn't worry too much about asbestos particles in damp humid environments as any fibres will simply be too damp and heavy to float around in the air. Its when buildings are extremely dry that risk begins.
Great video this. Nice job. 👍

41:53 As a kid I would take my Tasco 4 1/2" Reflector outside during winter and I very quickly realised that I had to let the telescope adjust to the temperature outside before using it, otherwise it would be fogged up until the whole body of the telescope cooled to the outside temperature. That actually *Looks* Humid down there as well, which would double the effect, as it did with you until your camera eventually adjusted to the ambient temperature. If you notice, the fogging got a lot less frequent as you continued

Fantastic job There Matty :o) I'm rapidly becoming a fan :oD
So, what's strange about this one? Well, it's a loading bay at the seafront side, then there are all those sheds which look to me like sorting sheds and workshops where stuff gets booked in (oh yes, good old British pen pushing was at it's height ;o) ) sorted and then loaded onto small rail trucks to be sent into the bunkers for storage. What's strange about that? The size. These bunkers are very small for just ammo stores which brings me to the conclusion that these were for 'special weapons' kept apart from your 'run of the mill' ammo etc.
Here's something else that's strange, The only S Mines I'm aware of are of the 'Bouncing Betty' variety, very nasty things that would chop a chap in half, I suspect any search engine will tell you more. The strange thing is they were German :-O ... I have to wonder if perhaps this was a depot for storing captured weapons / munitions?
Finally, I don't think you're done mate, I find it hard to believe that they would invest in security and the Police coming out in that sort of force for a few empty bunkers. In this financial climate? Not a chance mate, there's more to this place than meets the eye, I wonder if the stores you found were just the first level?
As I said, fantastic video, your stuff has suddenly gone off the scale mate in terms of interest and daring, You must have a pair like an elephant to take on MoD :oD and bless you for it, Thumbs up from me (y)
    All the best to you

Quite possibly the seating area might be for decontamination or an anti static solution (foot/shoe bath). Just a thought.

The yellow pipes and equipment you talked about are for fire fighting equipment taking water from the pond at the top of the hill and the water tanks you looked at in your last visit.

The yellow frames in the tunnels are there to hold the flat-folded fire hoses. They are connected to the yellow water supply pipes at each location.

great explore i do wonder if with the heat in bunkers and all the running water around there with proper water channels and Hugh water pipes there might have been nuclear stuff there you should borrow a Geiger counter

ref. 25min. small room - the low wall indicates a change of shoes - a common feature in atomic research (but probably just spark-free soles...)

Good EXPED... The drone sorties, footage and accompanying music being *most excellent indeed!*
Though the narration tended towards overt waffling... Nevertheless, still pretty enjoyable walk through...
So thumbs up Boyo! Dioch vawr.
    .
BTW - I was doing URBEX's [DM's - Dangerous Missions] from the age of 8 - I'm now 61 and nothing's changed and I'm *never* anxious or apprehensive - just excited. And the 'trespass' laws - esp regarding derelict MoD buildings - I tend not to recognise. I see 'security' as just a means to have and adrenalin rush!
    .
FYI, one can buy anti-mist spray/grease for one's optics, when in humid or wet environments.

I believe the last 2 bunkers are the ones that are actually holding things and are in the area 50,43 and it also looked like another one beside the long sheds going into the bank beside it as the rail tracks turned into there into an area like bush, I would love to come and search the area for the last 2 bunkers as they would be the gold mines of it all

The yellow gates near the yellow pipes were for holding long lengths of fire hose in ready to use state.
