    The film is respooled Kodak Vision 3, not Fuji. They use recycled canisters that why the Fuji label is underneath.

    Can you use c41 on ecn2 or does either totally mess up the film/ defeat the point

    • @SeanJorgensen
      @SeanJorgensen  12 днів тому

      great question! from what ive heard- keep in mind i didnt even know ECN2 existed until AFTER i bought this film. you could process it in c-41 but it would turn out to be in B&W. Also the reason most labs dont do ecn2 is due to the chemicals. they are different than c41 so its not worth the labs to switch the chemicals( it would contaminate everything after that point). again im giving this in the most layman terms as I understand them haha.

      @@SeanJorgensen thank you! I think I’ll just buy some ECN2, I do my developing at home, I’ve never sent to a lab 👀 but I almost bought some film and realized it was ecn2! Cinestill sells chemicals so i guess it’s time to play 💃🏻

      @@thatfilmgirl-hs8qu oh thats awesome! i havent dabbled in home developing yet, mainly because i already have way too much stuff at home and dont need more supplies and knick nacks taking up space haha. but let me know how it goes! im excited to see what you get.

      I'm not normally one to comment like this, but there are two things that need clearing up here. If you process ECN2 film of any sort in C41 chemicals you will NOT get a black and white image. It will be colour, and quite good as well, but there will be some elements of colour shifting that are not intended, it's not that dramatic, so much so most of these products don't even mention it. The reason labs don't accept a lot of these films I guess is because of the the rem jet backing that is present on Vision 3 films (they are movie films after all and are not intended for shooting in 35mm cameras as stills). This stuff is messy to remove and normal C41 labs by design are not equipped to remove it. They also would not want to cross contaminate other films with it. If your film has already had the rem jet taken off like for example, CineStill then my guess is most would be happy to help in C41. I have no idea how many would, I process all my film myself. But you are correct, ENC2 is not the same chemical process, just not the reason your lab might not accept it. C41 will give you very good colour images, ECN2 is as designed so in theory would look better, but that is of course subjective. Hope this helps :)

      @@myke104uk Thank you for the knowledge. I was told by my lab that they could process ECN2 in c41 but it would be in BW thats why I mentioned that.
