The video is wrong. The portuguese took Entrudo (Carnaval) to Brazil, not the other way around. Entrudo in Portugal is the ancient lusitanian/celtic tradition of the coming of the season of flowers which explains why it's celebrated at the end of winter. What we call Easter today celebrates the coming of summer, the season of fruits. Halloween is the season of death, the fall of nature and the Caretos are a remainder of that celebration. What today we call Christmas is the renewal of nature through water/rain & fire and it's still celebrated in the portuguese province by huge fogueiras (fires) - the burning of the "christmas" log is the same thing. I'm glad the monotheistic religions didn't completely appropriate and destroy our ancient lusitanian culture. Jesus initially was said to be born at the middle of the year but christian expansion through Europe changed the date to coincide with the biggest end of year celtic celebration.
Screw the Dutch is because the original video idea was from Netherlands. They did it first, and Portugal is saying "screw them, it's not USA first, Netherlands second, it's USA first, Portugal second"

This is just a ripoff the Dutch version but than worse . I'm not saying it just because im Dutch tho. Our version is way better in so many ways and on top of that Portugal doesnt even have a Ponypark slagharen and if they had it probably would be fake . The whole Trump towers joke is stolen aswell and so much worse in the Portugees version . The Netherlands 10/10 - Portugal 4/10
